@Carolyne
Wow, that sounds really amazing. I’ll definitely end up reading multiple paths

“I’m Luke Skywalker, I’m here to save you.” lol xD
@Carolyne, Glad to hear that! Hedylus is very charming, haha.
can we become a gladiator?
I like it, seems very promising.
@djma46: Not as a path in the game as a career to have. But possibly in another way (she said semi-mysteriously…).
@Carolyne I was playing as a female and I sided with him on regards to the henchman thing, but a romance with Hedylus is something I’d definitely go for!! ;
@attolia When at Nasidienus’s house/party/thing choose to make fun of him in some way, whether it be his “mid meal dalliance” or about his financial difficulties. He’ll seek revenge on you in some way later on
I am so into this game! I had so much fun going through the different paths and professions, and I adore your writing! And thank you so much for adding that option when we get to the end of each profession, it just made everything easier; a very nice touch!
Any chance I could romance a ruggedly handsome I’m-tough-and-mean-to-everyone-else-but-you-because-we’re-love-interests gladiator? 8->
@heyyoungblood: Just for a bit of fun, I added more interaction with Hedylus–a sort of draft to figure out what I might do in more detail later I’d probably balance him with Amaryllis the poet as another romance possibility. It’s just to test some places it might fit in, so I hope I didn’t break the code
Wow, just wow. I’m in love with your game, @Carolyn ! I mean, I’m not that much of a history junkie but I love the choices and the in-depth of the story. Still continuing to wait for the other occupations to arrive.
Hi, @ceecrab! I’ll put that possibility on the to-do list. I’d want to make it a uniquely different character with unique ways of how a friendship/romance/antagonism affects your path to the endgame, but I…
…have just gotten a flash of inspiration on how to do it as I was typing that. Look for that in the beta version. I have ideeeeas.
@Miki: Thank you! Maybe I can turn you into a history junkie I’ll be opening up the scribe/scholar profession for playing over the weekend (fingers crossed).
Well somebody has caught my attention on the scribe/scholar scale. *points secretly to username hint hint cough *
Just out of curiosity, what genre do you think When In Rome fits into?
@Samuel_H_Young: Just in general genre terms? Historical Fiction/Alternate History. There aren’t any typical Fantasy elements, and Romance/happily-ever-after isn’t the primary focus, so… that.
@Scrivener: I hope not to disappoint. Well, it might, but I’ll work hard to improve
add poisoning people as an option and I know another active user that you’ll have hooked ;D
@Carolyne I am loving the new scene with Hedylus! I especially like that he mentions the pair downstairs and the MC is just like, “So?” Do you have plans to have an actual relationship develop with Hedylus or will it be more like a series of secretive trysts? I mean, I’m keen for either…
Great writing though!
How exactly do you get to meet Hedylus?
I played this game a hundred times (no joke
How do u get to the rooftop scene?
@Carolyne I’ll hold you to that *wags finger in general position*
