Thanks to everyone who responded to this over the years!
I’m currently in the process of finishing up a (free) book on the history of Interactive Fiction and am including this essay in it. (The rest of the book is mainly about IFComp and XYZZY winners, including Creme de la Creme and Night Road.)
The problem is that I’m having trouble finding some of these reviews, because most of the ones I didn’t name came from Steam and steam is not searchable from Google.
I’m going through one by one and opening up old games on Steam and looking at their reviews. I thought I might as well ask for a little help, though. If any of the quotes in the original essay in this post seem familiar and you know what game they’re for, I’d love it if you could DM me or reply here. If not, it’s no problem, and thanks for your time!
