Heroes Rise: Why so unpopular?

Short answer I think is disappointment and anger Disappointment in what the stories and author promised and promise, disappointment in what was delivered, in the tone and attitude the stories displayed, about the path they took or better how they took it, and disappointment and anger at how the author handled and handles rightful criticism.
