i absolutely love this - have only played the noble route while romancing qenna, and the tension, the pining, the softness is driving me insane. that’s not even mentioning the main story, it had me hooked from the very first sentence. you’re such a good writer, i love the world you’ve built, and i’m genuinely so excited to see what you come up with next.
in the meantime, i’ll be playing the other routes (and try to romance someone other than qenna though it will be difficult!!). thank you so much for your amazing work and the time you’ve dedicated to this, very excited for the next update. <3
I feel like maybe were not getting n e stat points in the priestess intro? I mean like If we feel guilty or sad abt our apprentice, do we get mercy points, etc?
I started writing this because I wanted to make a text-based Dragon Age-like game Coincidence!
Petmes would absolutely agree.
Thank you so much for your lovely message
I don’t think there is a personality change there.
The stat system is very much in its early phases right now, except for the abilities. I need to put in more personality stat changes for sure. Different MC origins give you different stat changes in the first chapter too, so I want to balance them out in later chapters in order to have equal amount of choices for everyone.
Uhh, can i be the emperor of Egypt myself here smh? I mean rn or in the future, can we seize the throne for ourself without marry or building romantic relationship with him?
i cannot BELIEVE i’m only now playing this demo, i am already hooked and i’ve barely started my playthrough. wry comedic narration like this is my favorite, favorite, favorite type of prose to read!!!
It’s been a bit more than one year, yes, I know. Still, I haven’t forgotten about Weeping Gods turning 1 year old recently!
It’s been a hell of a year though. I don’t think I’ve ever written this much in such a short amount of time in my entire life.
Nearly 800 000 words. A bit more than half of the game is done. In a bit more than a year. That’s a tremendous amount of work. Some of it will be edited and changed later, but still, I am, without any sort of bragging, very proud of myself.
I want to thank each and every one of you who are reading and loving my story, and special thanks for those who support me either on Patreon, or just by sending me messages and telling me little details and asks about the things that captured your attention!
To celebrate, I wanted to share with you a Weeping Gods special, which is sort-of a canon story, and it includes Noble MC’s meeting with Narmer five years ago in Kusai. (The story has a bit of a romantic feel to it, so it only applies for an MC of an appropriate age).
Heh :))) Surprising, but Qenna is the second oldest RO (after Zaia). Although Zaia has stopped maturing in every sense when they died, so mentally speaking, Qenna is the oldest of the RO cast.
Chapter 6 is ready and playable in the public demo
SAVES ARE BROKEN!
Since a new file has been added, and many of the old code has been changed (which hopefully means that most of the crystal bugs are gone for good), saves made before 23 Feb 2026 WILL NOT WORK.
The new chapter adds about 140 000 words to the story.
The total word count now sits at around 830 000 words.
But there is also some bad news. I removed the poly route. None of the poly scenes are available anymore in the game, and I don’t know yet if I will add them back or not. I kept the files, of course, so they still exist on my computer, but they aren’t in the demo. I decided to remove it because the game is simply getting too big, and balancing all the different romance/friendship routes is already a big enough challenge. I might add the poly back if I have time, once the game is finished, but I don’t promise it.
Those who are doing Narmer’s route, be prepared for a heavy emotional (very angsty) scene somewhere toward the end of the latest chapter.
CONTENT WARNINGS STILL APPLY! You can find the list of triggering content at the beginning of the game, on the very first page.
Coming back after finally reading through the WHOLE update (and I mean every single option available), I just wanna say that I was obsessed with Zaia before and now I’ll die for them, no questions asked. Their reaction in chapter 6 was every bit of what I hoped for it to be and I actually played several times because I simply couldn’t get enough of it. Thank you for the update because, even keeping aside Zaia (how can I though), it was completely worth, well, EVERYTHING. Looking forward to the next updates!
Ist it just me, or feels the MC kinda, how do I say that best. Neuro divergent, ADHD coded? Like especially the thoughts and such. (Not that I am expert, just based on what I know about it from Random creators and such.)
But I really liked it, it resonated with me. And oddly fitting for noble MC(?), like being perceptive and such. (Noble MC is the only one which I played until chapter 6 as of right now.)
Regardless, I follow this if a bit longer. Just was more of a lurker then a avid commentator. But I think it’s time I show some of the Ifs I like some of that love and appreciation I feel for them.
So I really love this, the choices feel good, it also seems that it’s not only has depth but also width. (If you know what I mean.)
Men (or was it Man?) I am not good at this.
Cheers
Some lurker that’s is incredible sorry for any grammatical errors or other mistakes (Damm you Reading and Spelling Disorder"). And deeply enjoys this IF
(Here a cookie for anyone that got to then end of my rambling.)
Depends which one you’re talking about. In the new chapter, I think the check is set to 30 if you’re uninjured, and 40 if you have a leg injury.
Thank you for the nice comments, and yes, this is absolutely possible, although I didn’t write MC intentionally like that. But I do have ADHD myself, so it might just be that shining through a bit? I’m not sure!
It’s an interesting question, in any case. I didn’t write noble MC neurotic on purpose, but I definitely meant them to have depression and some level of anxiety, which is up to the reader how much you play into it. The other MC origins all bring their own type of baggage as well. Priest MC has anxiety for sure, captain is very burned out (and the veteran version has trauma from the war), and the thief struggles with deep existential dread and anxiety that they try to mask with humor.
