It’s difficult to elaborate on why I disagree with this this without getting political. What I will say however is that it’s not about whether Viktor is entitled to having a kid with her. The issue is entirely separate.

Just for context. The author did say on tumblir that Yvette was not forced or in any way coerced into carrying the MC to term. I can’t remember the exact words, but basically Victor asked, and she agreed.

I’m kinda late to all of this and I’m mixed on Yvette honestly. I do resent her for essentially abandoning the MC and Viktor and I think she could have tried more to be a part of the MCs’ life after Viktor died. But I do understand where she’s coming from when she didn’t settle down, the MC was pretty much an unwanted child from her point of view and it is possible that she could have gotten Postpartum depression as a result of the unwanted pregnancy, that and the stress put on her by her career wasn’t helping things either. I think she just couldn’t handle the prospect of starting the family, maybe from a combination of stress over what her agency will do when they find out about her kid and perhaps some fear that she would resent her child as well as Viktor. It happens far more often than people think and it might have caused Yvette to simply just run away from one of her problems, throw it away, and hope it never comes back. Unfortunately for her, there is no paradise she can escape to, and now things are only getting worse.

Also one thing I wanna mention, more a theory than anything. I think another reason why Yvette ran away from a potential family might have to do with her own parents. Maybe she was born under similar circumstances to the MC and she grew up with both of her parents resenting her for that. So she might have been afraid of treating the MC and Viktor the same way her parents treated her. Idk, just a theory.

CHAPTER 4 UPDATE
First of all: Happy new year, everyone 
I wish all of you an awesome year ahead!
Now, on to the Chapter Update! Chapter 4 contains 46K words which brings the total word count to 189K words! Chapter 4 is actually the largest update yet that I’ve done in a month clocking at 46K words instead of the usual 20-30K words update (I really pushed myself this month, didn’t I 
)
However, this update doesn’t just bring the entirety of Chapter 4, but also some new and tweaked stuff on the previous chapters. So, I would recommend playing from the beginning if you want to see what’s changed for yourself. I’ll list out things I changed from the previous chapter below.
Now, a lot of you are probably aware of this already, but some of the things you’ll do in this chapter are:
- Meet Yvette and finally have a proper conversation with her (a lot of variations and different decisions).
- Choose what you feel about her now. Do the years soften your hatred for her? Or maybe they’ve made you resent her even more?
- Meet the rising star superhero—and your mother’s protégé—Skylar Moore.
- Meet the black sheep of the ECPD, Detective Santana Valdez.
- Have a talk with the CEO of the Constellation Agency!
What have been updated in previous chapters include:

Added a new clothing style, which is the “All black” clothing style to match the style that Luka is wearing (popular demand

Added flavour texts for those choosing “Beatrice” or “Virgil”/“Vergil” codename.

The skill check limits in Chapter 3 have been lowered. To succeed in the hotel entry, you’ll need at least 50 in the corresponding skill instead of 55. And to succeed in the CQC combat, you’ll now only need (Combat + Grav) or (Combat + Umbra) at least 105 instead of the previous 115.

Make the Police Commissioner’s unsavoury connection to the Nemesis Project more apparent.

Tweak how MC reacts to executing the Police Commissioner. Now, it’s based more on whether you chose your MC to be ready, hesitant, or don’t want to kill him in Chapter 2 when talking to Grandpa.

I didn’t have any issues when I started from a save file beginning at Chapter 3. Just wanted to say that
Wait what the hell? Did this game always have Dupont? Does it remember your last used names?
I am so confused hah! “Alois Dupont” is the default character name I use for IF so I am startled! I didn’t remember that the first time I played it, but I might not have been paying attention. Now I’m just amused.
Also, for people wanting to know what the passage is where Yvette tries to manipulate the MC with her powers:

She looked around worriedly at the shocked crowds. You saw her brows furrowed and suddenly there was a shift in the crowd; the tension in the room eased and the crowd became more relaxed.
You frowned and shivered. The unnatural change in the crowds was uncanny to you and you realized the scariness of a well-trained empath. This is a whole new level of different from Ronald.
Suddenly, you were hit with a strong urge to forgive her and to like her again.
Maybe it’s my fault… I couldn’t believe I yelled at her in front of so many people… Maybe I should apologize to her… Maybe I should forgive her too… Maybe she’s not as bad as I thought…
You shook your head vigorously and forced yourself to feel the wrath and hatred for her that you just felt before.

Brrruuuuh. The fight scene and the execution if you’re mentally prepared are so damn brutal. I LOVE IT. 
And as a fellow writer ((who actually adores writing combat scenes)) you did it so smoothly. ESPECIALLY with grav and CQC. No extra fluff, and just the perfect amount of detail to be able to imagine.

When my MC met Skylar…ohhh it hit hard. They look like MC in a way (blond hair, blue/green eyes) & it felt like Yvette just replaced my MC with a shiny new unbroken happy child…
I’m sure there are complex layers to them, but at first meeting they just look like a naive happy rich kid with powers…really interested to see behind the layers.
Soooo…what will happen if we feel something for Ash & The Detective? I mean how long can we keep this up before we need to choose or one of them will make the choice for us?
Am I the only one that read about Ash not wearing winter clothes like “the cold never bothered him anyway” in a sing-song Elsa style voice?
Also just a question about how the MC introduces her self, would she know much about how Russians introduce them selfs? In Russia you say your Last name, Name, Patronymic Name - Morozov/a Name Viktorovna/Victorovich, but the mc starts with her name. I am just curious about that, it’s how UK/USA do it right? Because the location is North America?

Just stopping in here to say that I love Skylar. Good update.
I look forward to going after her and Rin at the same time. I for some reason, really wanna see what that’ll be like later on in the story.
Just like I’m tempted to make a character just to go after everyone to see what kinda hilarity ensues from that decision. I wanna see how much confusion and internal struggle I can generate in a character that is just like “Why is everyone in my life hot?”

Indeed, Russians introduce (usually) with Family, First, Patronymic name. Some environment might change the order of names. And good guess about location, it is correct but not entirely the only reason. MC might have been taught to introduce the way they do because MC is not Russian. They’re born and raised American (you might point out that MC is American of Russian descent, but that’s tops what you can get). MC is not Russian American. There is no such thing as Irish American. Same applies to Russian American (source: this vid (sarcasm (or maybe not)))

I was really expecting Skylar to end up being a 100% fame/career driven narcissist but I was pleasantly surprised with how honest they seem. Even when they boast self confidence while you’re flirting it’s more endearing than narcissistic.
Also the highlight of the update has to be the talk with Yvette. I must have played every choice combination to catch all the small dialogues and gauge the reactions of both characters. I was surprised with how much time it took me to decide on the reconciliation choice and I’m very curious to see if a similar choice will come up later after more interaction or if it’s the defining factor of the relationship/lack of one.
