The expiration of editing posts was turned off a bit ago, so he should be able to edit the first post any time he wants - the title needs regular status to be able to edit - which he isn’t at the moment.

Damnit Alex, I have a bunch of stuff to do in RL and one CoG beta test to finish tomorrow night. Still, you got me to went full in on your update. Hi guys, just been having a few thoughts about my project and I’d like to share them with you…
Basically, it occurred to me that perhaps if I continue along the current path I have for the game, it is possible (if unlikely) that having the option to play as fascists and take over a country could attract the attention of people on the internet I’d rather not have the attention of. To put it more plainly, (and I know it seems far-fetched), I’m worried that it might spread around the alt-right online community like pepe the frog, taken out of the hands of the creator.
Now granted, it seems unlikely, I doubt I’ll ever be that successful, and also, this site is hardly the natural habitat of the alt-right, but with the internet, you never know. But I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if it spread around alt-right reddit, twitter etc as a fun simulator to beat up lefties and turn a country into a fascist state. Some of the things you see on the internet these days, whether it be youtube comments or twitter threads, make the spectre of online fascism seem very real.
The world was quite a different place when I began writing and devising this game, fascism seemed a distant concept, the idea of playing as fascists was a bit of fun to someone like me who fundamentally disagreed with everything they believe in. But I realise that it won’t only be me playing it and not everyone will have my viewpoint or pre-existing opinions going in to the game.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t planning on you being able to create a fascist utopia, it certainly would have dwelt on the negatives of fascist rule and tested your conscience. However those kind of subtleties would likely be lost on the pepe generation.
If i were to do away with the new order path, it would be replaced with another right-wing option, as National Bloc, but they are a very different party so it would require some reworking by myself, both to what has already been made and future plans. Certainly, while my original intention was to draw on the symmetry of new order and solidarity, that would have to be changed, and we would get two less similar paths.
Thoughts would be appreciated, and I’ve created this poll, although I would say i won’t be bound by the result. Still very much mulling this one over…
- Keep New Order
- Get rid of them, replace with National Bloc

Dude, same could happen with the Communists (myself included), but then that’d mean that you’d have to edit the whole game, and no one wants that.
Look, it’s a very important discussion to have with oneself, but in the end, art is to please the artist, to make the viewever think, and for the viewer to aooreacitemis as they see fit, making it into their own. Sometimes, really shitty people do so, just as long as that’s not you’re intention, it’s fine, and we’ll defend you to the death if necessary if this were to happen.

I wont lie I feel the same way you do about fascism. It did seem like a fun path to try even if I entirely disagree with them but when you put it that way I understand why you might want to change some stuff. In the end I dont think its up to the community to decide this because it is pretty obvious that most peoples will vote to keep them either because they think it seem like a fun path, because they are some of those peoples support fascism themselves or they fell in an echo chamber and believe everything conservative tell them about communists so they see fascists as the only moral choice of the two.
This is your game and if you want to change things because you disagree with the path your game could take its not down to the community to decide that. I know that I would rather see you change things right away if you know it wont become what you wanted than see you switch later when more work had been done or even drop the whole path.
I wont vote on this because either way I will have a grand time on your game but in the end you need to remember that its really your game and that you are the ultimate authority on everything related to it.

I don’t think your game is anyway supporting it on nor will I think it be hijacked by those people personally this is not their choice of medium. Two it does offer an alternative perspective you’re doing the subject matter Justice and I Faith you can execute it with complete ability deserving and showing both seductive nature and and its own false of why It cannot function long term and it’s true darker nature .

By saying they’re not communist is denying their origin there maybe not the Communism you follow but they are still communist movements. That were catching up really fast in the needless death game.
I don’t need a book, I live in a country where the “workers party” (funded by the communists of my country) destroyed our economy (we have the highest rate of unemployed of our history) and deceived the people doing things like “now we have the workers in power”.
The thing is, communism might not be created with bad values like the fascism, but the power it brings lead the people who implemented it to become greed and corrupt, just like the fascists, and they never relinquish their power.

Maybe if all socialist movement that ever existed wasnt forced to invest most of their ressources in protection because they were constantly under attack by the outside world those who use fear as a tool maybe wouldnt have taken over.

I talked about the Workers Party of my country, which you ignored. They are the left wing of my country, and ruled my country for 14 years. Our economy is in recession, we have 14 millions unemployed, they were responsible for the greatest corruption scheme of my country history and several of the party founders were sent to jail.
They were so radical that they labelled our democratic socialist party as right wing and the huge majority of the population believed them.

I am all for replacing the New Order with a viable alternative. I do not think the National Bloc as written would be a good foil to the Solidarity.
I also think, since you keep bringing this up that eventually you will want to change it, regardless of what the community says.
I would suggest as an alternative, a party based on the German Bismarkian party of World War 1 era. Very Nationalistic, very Imperialistic, pro business, pro-nobility, anti-solidarity causes.
A royalist-revival party in an alternative possible-time-line would work as well but for some reason you seem gunshy about that too.
@cyanide and @Urban - let’s remember the respect rule of the forums here. Politics is a part of this discussion and everyone can disagree and such but respect the author here and focus on what he’s trying to do.
