Which was another thing they’ve specified from the beginning, it’s not going to be sold it’s going to be and stay ftp.
Some authors do not like fanfiction, even if it will not be monetized. This group were seemingly smart enough to get permission before starting, right?
Your summation and analysis was authoritative, meaning you seemed to know what was what.
My apologies.
Fanfiction falls into a grey area of fair use. As far as I know there hasn’t been any successful suit to set the precedence, but most fanfic authors will simply drop it if they get a cease and desist notice instead of taking it to court. On the other hand, if they’re copying whole excerpts from the book verbatim, they might be on even more shaky ground.
I don’t understand why you think I would know? I’m one of their readers not a member of their project. I’ve been reading since they put it up, that’s why I know what happened with the comments section and why it got shut down.
Oh, sorry, no. I was just there as it was all happening. No need to apologise.

Demonology: Incubus - Chapter 3
Holy shit, new sonnet009 project dropped? Wilder and Aloners are some all time favourites for me, even though they are female protag only, can’t wait to try this.

Tale of Two Princes
Just made this subreddit on a whim cus I was bored. Join it if you wanna share some of your own recs or just talk about IFs in general or something.
I wonder what the actual percentage of projects that ever get finished (or hell, even receive an update beyond their original post) is. I’m just going back to some of the first recommendations in this thread and many haven’t received updates in years.
Good question Lance_Heyen; would take a lot of work to find out but my gut is saying probably something like 20% to 10% . . . so many fizzle out, which is so sad. I kind of go back and forth to being thankfull we get to see at least pieces of these games before they perish vs wishing projects would only be presented once they were complete.
Unfortunately, that is the gamble with wips. Many things can get in the way of the creative process, including the creativity itself. There’s not much to do except support the work you want to read (it’s not like we can stop the trolls or entitled people demanding the game).
Life goes on and in the end, we can only be grateful for the works that are completed.
I use the itch app on my laptop, since it lets me easily see when there’s an update to any of the games I have downloaded.
I have literally hundreds of Twine (usually the ones that are ver CoG style) and VN wips downloaded, and it’s very few that ever gets updated. I keep most installed ‘just in case’, since they don’t take up too much space.
We complain about the abandoned wips here on the forum, but at least we actually get some finished games, regularly.

Where We End
Are there any political-themed stories, both published and WIP on Twine or elsewhere, where you don’t play as the head of state/ President/Monarch/Mayor/Etc., but rather a character who has a character who’s a powerful political figure like an oligarch or significant advisor?
