It’s very bizzare to me that after DH was updated with typo and bug fixes, achievements, stat balancing and new content, the ratings went down -_-

I wouldn’t take it to heart, it seems like some of the reviewers don’t even know what they’re talking about:
“Not worth it This game is the shortest thing i paid for. There is no plot the most developed character is the vampire at the end, and the choices dont feel meaningful. I had some hope since this guy made zombie exodus but i honestly think the free games on choice of are better made. Dont waste the money.”

The rating system is actually quite cruel, all it takes is a few - “types” - of people to give it a 1 star rating (usually because of one minor detail) and it drags your whole average down.
On the bright side, I’ve bought it and plan to play it myself sometime later in the week, so that’s likely another 4/5 star rating coming your way

What sucks is the people who didn’t like it are more likely to leave a “review” than the people who liked it. Like 37/61 of my ratings are 5s, which is really good, but 76 people have shared it on Google+ so it seems like at least half of the people who enjoyed it didn’t bother to leave a good rating, whereas probably 90% of the people who didn’t love it (1-4) left a review.

I mean after DH got updated, I got two new reviews; a 3 and a 4, which dropped my rating from 4.2 to a 4.1

I liked your story and really look forward to more of it. As you mentioned this is first of more. I do ask, if any live from the first will they reappear? One play thru was kind while other play thru was cruel.

There will be later in the series when everything’s not so mobile and crazy. Romance willl be introduced in the beginning of volume 3.
The thing I hate most about how ratings work is that only google play and amazon give you a ratings break down.
Chrome store and iOS only show you an average and ratings with reviews.

Yeah and they’re really vague. Like my Apple rating is a 4.2 but it shows it as 4 stars.
The most stupidest thing is how actually people give so many importance to that rating .

In Spanish the typical post is:
“WTF gringo what is this in English ? If it where in Spanish i give you a five . No Spanish this is shit”

Guy not read that his mobile is not supported in the game clearly in a bold list in requirements.
“This is a scam i got x mobile and didn’t loading and freeze my Mobile this is a virus”
Author has to replied him explained that is in description that his mobile it wasn’t supported .
I just don’t look rating and prefer read descriptions or videos about it.

Yeah it’s unbelievable. All these angry people think they’re entitled to something. Like someone said everything was good but the length, and yet they gave me a 2/5. Uhhh, shouldn’t that have been a 4 or 5? I mean the story’s $2, what’d you expect, 1,000 pages? It’s already cheap as it is.
Well, the are entitled to something… just not what they seem to think they are. I mean, just the artwork alone puts your game on the high end of production values for CoG, what are they expecting The Wolf Among Us? (Which by the way is amazing and gripping without resorting to the Walking Dead’s tactic of generating suspense by making you constantly wonder which character is going to be unceremoniously killed off next.)
Actually, I don’t really wonder what they’re thinking, because it’s the internet, they aren’t thinking. They don’t feel like their actions have any consequences, so they’re just acting.

Precisely or rather, they know their actions have consequences (like tanking my rating because they felt like 90,000 words of IF, 8 illustrations and 35 minutes of music wasn’t worth $1.99) but they know they don’t have to take responsibility because they’re anonymous.
I hate some cogs, but I never go gives bad rating. I come yelling here in the forum.when I know I don’t harm authors. And actually could help improve their games, not just trolling.
I’ve given a four once or twice but it would take a lot to make me give as cog anything less

Yeah, exactly! Giving me a horrible rating won’t help anyone; you won’t ever get your problems with it fixed, and it would hurt my career. That’s why I put an author’s note at the end asking for readers who didn’t like DH to come and tell me about it so I can fix it, instead of giving it a bad rating which will just make it harder for me to fix it, especially since they rarely even leave a written review.
