Without sword Sylvane dynasty would have died long time ago
It chooses best king available from heirs

It’s Richard who have higher chance of Francis’d specially if you let him do whatever he wants.mc isn’t loved by people and if you let him win people’s trust you will be in same problem as father.people will always try to make him king when mc is king. that’s why I destroyed his plan with Aetheris. Though they should have hired someone else to do it it was foolish to do that themselves.

Who says skull can’t be holy?
And sword isn’t holy if I remember correctly it just chooses best heir from all children.

Nope. I think that’s what they wanna believe. I don’t trust the giant glowing religious sword with a skull hilt. Why would a holy sword have a skull. Are we following some teen god who thinks skulls are cool?

Skulls are usually symbols of death. Not exactly holy or good comes to mind when you see a skull. Also, it is a holy sword supposedly. It is tied to their god, sits prominently in the center of the church, and has a god’s authority (by way of their religion) over a nation to appoint their ruler.

Look, it’s ok not to agree. It’s just my theory. But if I 'm right…

Yep that was I am thinking, it choose the best heir although it probably stuck from choosing the best from worse with Father generation.

I always think in the original that the sword is somewhat fair and impartial judge.

It is not wrong though among all siblings the one that most likely not getting swayed by their respective mother is MC.

I let Richard have their way in sending supplies, well at least he is trying even though he is insincere, I am not romancing Clara anyway.

Richard, Freya never been a loose end, I am more worried about Atheris, I gave her chancellor position in my old play.

Not when he’s the king, which was my fav route to play in the original game. People’s opinion of the MC wasn’t what I was thinking about, it was the “being loyal to the king but getting stabbed in the back by him anyway” feels I was getting.

I’m not sure why skulls should be different in that regard from any other kind of bones that are considered holy. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for a fictional religion to worship a skull. Maybe it’s supposed to be a skull of a great ancient hero or something.

Loving it!

Oh and to Richard, sorry, apparently she has a crush on me. Not my fault.

I prefer to meet all ROs that I’d be interested in. Learn about them, then romance them. Most of the time, some exceptions. Oriana was one.

Fair. But many readers like me will be sus of a holy sword with a skull motif. Skulls are often synonymous with death, poison, plague, unholy, etc. Specially a human skull can make one feel unsettled. Sure, you can say it’s a legendary saint’s skull. I’m still gonna be a bit creeped out.

You guys can have your creepy holy sword. I’mma join the conspiracy ppl and make a tin hat.

I didn’t say it’s unfair to be creeped out, just that I don’t see a reason why it couldn’t be considered holy. Holy things can be creepy!

Skulls aren’t inherently bad and death isn’t either, especially if a character is religious. Seems a tad reductive? A lot of, going with Christian, holy relics have been human body parts across history and Christianity specifically is quite big up skulls! It’s only really recently that we got squeamish and seperately started to worry about the ethics of it? The vatican has bones on display, alleged shrouds, mummified head of Saint Catherine of Siena alongside her right thumb - it’s not an uncommon religious motif for body parts to be seen as holy.

It really doesn’t seem odd that their holy sword has a skull.

It makes sense to me that Rhivenia would have a creepy skull religion :sob: if Rhivenians stay as brutal in the updated version as they were in the original version, the skull motif is actually perfect. Rhivenians yearn for death and destruction!

There is also skull for skull throne with Khorne.

None other than mother calling MC little one.

Context clues says it’s mother, yes. Still confusing it’s not said who enters to clear up any confusion.

It should be noted that he had strangled the dude in order to ensure that your kingdom could obtain the poison antidote it needed. Effectively, he has betrayed his own comrades in order to save the life of Freya, his love, despite the country she hails from murdering all pirates on sight.

So it’s pretty ironic you’re now bringing this up as example of him being a bad man and the reason these two should be kept apart.

Regarding the new demo, haven’t played it all yet, but something to maybe keep in mind when it comes to offered choices:

#...joining the hunt with the soldiers
        *set archery +15
        *set huntthedeer true
//...
#...reading books about politics and kingdoms.
//...
#...learning a new language and culture of other people.
        *set knowluntanian true

When one option gives you fat combat bonus and lets pass a story beat check, another teaches you additional language and third claims to teach you useful stuff but in truth does literally nothing, you effectively have two options and a newbie trap that no one in the right mind will take once the cat is out of the bag.

Please don’t do that, stuff like this only pisses people off when they learn the game lied to them and simply robbed them from some actual bonus they could get with other option(s) If possible, have the options in given single menu provide benefits (and/or penalties) of similar weight.

Yes, if i’m not mistaken in the original version of the game the option which now does nothing gave a bonus to knowledge stat which has been axed.

This is a thread for feedback about the new iteration of the book. And that’s what i’m providing. I’m not telling author how to write their story, but asking to take this issue into consideration.

We’ll simply have to agree to disagree about that. I think you’re misreading my tone and perceiving hostility where there wasn’t any.
