The Sword of Rhivenia (Remake) (DEMO UPDATED 27/04)

I like all three of them, but I don’t trust Atheris as far as I can throw her. I don’t think she would betray us, but I also don’t think she has any qualms crossing the line.

Same! I think the rewrite has a LOT of good qualities, so I don’t want people to think I don’t like it. But I’ve been a bit disappointed in the sibling relationships, especially Richard’s. I thought the rewrite would add to the characters and flesh them out. But at least in Richard’s case, it’s been less of adding and more of changing.

Richard in the first book was just your average sibling nothing cocky, not particularly attention seeking just average (and i even shipped her with clara a bit cause it was cute how flustered he became when hes with her). Going into the remake, however, turned him into a total social media influencer wannabe, all about the clout, no actual good deeds going in. He would send food to the people of Rhivena for what? To clearly just to hear them shout his name out for attention.

Going into the remake, I honestly expected to like him as much as I did in the first book. BOY WAS I WRONG. He was unbearable, constantly bragging about his connection to the king and his future kingship. And then moment he realized he wasn’t even secured to the throne and realized it was us what the heck did he do? He CHALLENGED us, his youngest sibling, to a duel in another country out of pure spite…

Aetheris and Freya, however, aren’t exactly saints neither. They certainly don’t make things easy for us(Looking at you Freya!). Although i do appreciate Aetheris’s loyalty(Yea yea a little biased lol), even if her temper can be a bit much sometimes even though she was sadden she wasn’t picked shes still there for us. She’d definitely make a great right hand man (man? Woman? Idk whats the correct term lol). Freya, on the other hand, seems to use us to gain sympathy for her pirate boyfriend at least, that’s my impression so far.

Honestly, it’s sad because the one person that has loved him unconditionally, been on his side from day one, and thinks he’s amazing…has been my MC, his little brother. He has an ally, but he keeps pushing my MC away and betraying that love because of the toxicity of his mother and granfather.

The grandfather is a real prick I must say. It also explains so much in regards to Isabelle’s seeming hatred of Richard which is sad as well.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I can’t advance in Chapter 6 because there’s an error everytime I try to pick a path with Jarean here. Only one that let’s me progress is Romance, and I don’t want to romance him. Every other option gives the same error just with a different line number (“chapter6 line 147: Non-existent variable ‘jareanisnotro’ “, this one is for friendship) then doesn’t let me do anything other than restart and reload my save.

I want to like Freya, I really do. But I have never seen anyone self-sabotage like this. Plus, she is arguably the most selfish sibling we have. If her relationship becomes public knowledge and you support her, given how the citizens are written, the blowback on the entire royal family will be massive. Also, to add, going off what she painted as a child, it’s a high chance she has been meeting with the dude for years.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the pirate guy is just manipulating her to get into the castle as well, she’s already written to be somewhat naive to some degree.

I mean we could fake her death and give them a small estate in a relatively safe border region of the kingdom which would invalidate that risk and let them be happy together… unless Revan’s theory is correct.

The one sibling I just can’t trust the most is Atheris sure she says she’ll protect mc and that they are in it together but something about how willing she was to ruin Richard not to mention her getting mad over slights and insults makes me think she’ll likely turn on the mc if given the chance. In short none of the siblings are very trustworthy or are going to at least be problems depending on how we or the mc treats them.

That would be problematic. Now I’m curious how old he is specifically in comparison to her. But I do have a guard always going with her. As I cant ignore all of that.

That is where she will end up though. Needing ransomed or freed. Plot dictates she will become a prisoner.

I cant help with Jarean issue. It might be due to incomplete.

Exactly why I’m trying to shut it down. Probably thinks just because the drug doesn’t kill it’s alright when it’s not especially right now since we could be attacked anytime and the guards can’t do their job if they are sleeping. Plus everyone won’t appreciate a MC supporting the pirates so it’s a really bad idea especially since we need to prove ourselves as the swords chosen one. Given how she reacted to the thief being dealt with it’s possible she definitely seen him for a while but she might out herself doing that or at least look sus for doing it.

She’s already been sus long before the mc managed to follow her. Subtlety and secrecy is definitely not a strong skill of hers but joking aside I get the feeling depending on the outcome of what our mc does either the people or Freya will be angry.

It should be fixed now!

I badly want to believe in Freya and Atheris, but I have to agree that both of them have their own issues. Richard, though… even playing the sweetest, kindest heir possible and constantly giving him the benefit of the doubt, his behavior is getting worse. :sob:

Hi. There’s been an issue with the saves ever since the update, as I can’t load any of my saves. It says “Game has updated. Restarting chapter.” But it brought me back to the very start. Are my saves corrupted?

Yeah, you need to play through the game again, from the very start.

The COG demo was recently updated, which means any saves that were made prior to the update are no longer viable.

It’s an issue with COG, and not specifically any of the authors

This is what angered me. Our father is on his death bed and we’ve received a declaration of war…and she thinks it’s all good to knock out our night guards for a jaunt with her pirate boyfriend? She literally put the entire castle and her siblings in danger of a night invasion.

Not just knocked them out, knocked them out and left the gate open. It’s as good as actually saying you want your family and everyone who works for them murdered.

Yeah, even if it’s not an enemy nation or even organised group, a couple of disgruntled peasants could just walk in, steal the soldiers’ weapons and wreak havoc, damaging property and perhaps killing a few workers, guests and members of the royal family who happen to be nearby their entry point before the still concious guards realise what is happening and subdues them.

Don’t get me wrong, she’s adorbs and I highly doubt she’s doing it maliciously but she doesn’t think things through.
