Honestly not sure why she didn’t do the thing. I said, no, I dont want to hurt the innocent. Guess that made her think twice. She could have though. Maybe the words stop her.
If he stays an ass. I will rethink on ruining his plan next time.
Once, fine, second time seriously depends to be possible for a third time. Arrested or sent away.
Besides, he damn well knows I didnt want to lead either. As wasnt shy about reacting negatively on being a leader.
This is why Atheris is an interesting character to me: she’s absolutely crazy, but she is aware that she’s crazy, or at least she recognizes that when someone is horrified at her actions or tells her to stop, it’s because what she does is insane. It seems to me that she looks at you as a moral compass of sorts, almost like you’re the only one with common sense, or maybe it’s simply familial protectiveness; this is to the point where if you say you’d never turn on Richard, she’ll tell you to your face that she hopes you turn on her if she ever went crazy or did something to hurt you.
It certainly doesn’t make her any less insane and honestly speaks to how she shouldn’t, under any circumstances, be left to her own devices, but it adds some depth to her actions.
Read this back in December 2024, read it again now in February 2026. Man, the feeling with the story remains the same! Really looking forward for the book to finish especially as I also loved the original.
I still feel sad for Richard. Yeah he can be quite a jerk towards the end but cmon bruh almost everyone hated him. I mean evil me is satisfied and having fun when I play as evil brother but damn bro when I play as a kind dude I really feel bad for him. I sure hope nothing bad happens to him in the future lmao cause if Xavier can die in chapter 8, and we are supposed to talk to Richard next chapter while sir Locke is on guard while hidden, oh man I’m nervous
Cause unlike in the OG, he lowkey made me like him at the start of the book cause he really seemed like a good dude. The scene when Nicholas asked why Atheris hates him but she can’t remember anything is a nice detail.
I also like how we bond more with our sisters here. And bruh finally I can speak against Lena lmao I hated her in the OG.
I just wanted to say how cool I thought it was that our MC could get involved with several characters in a romantic/sexual way and how that ends up impacting the other characters. I went through a storyline where I was romantically involved with Lena but slept with other characters because I hadn’t made a commitment to her. During this time, one of the characters I was involved with told Lena came to ask me about it.
very interesting to have the possibility of being a jerk in a less explicit way, and for that to have consequences rather than the usual choices of “good” or “bad”.
Context about my MC: Neutral with a good inclination.Context regarding my MC: Neutral with a leaning towards good.
It is possible to sleep with other characters while being romantically involved with Clara. It’s possible to sleep with other characters while being romantically involved with Clara. If I remember correctly, I didn’t actually sleep with Clara, but we confessed our feelings for each other and shared a kiss.
She also has all of mother dearest’s personality flaws and as much as she wouldn’t admit it, is also her puppet. I can see her punishing Richard the moment she gets the throne and just generally going on a ‘revenge’ spree. She’s also somewhat paranoid, which doesn’t make for a great ruler especially combined with her short temper and attitude towards relationships. She’ll become a petty tyrant, one that’s as easily controlled by her emotions as her siblings (except MC).
I do really like how you can actually make your MC be the good king and your not instantly punished for it, especially regarding family because at the end he’s really the only person keeping this shit show together
Yeah but it probably won’t last. People will probably revolt anyway if it plays out similarly to the original despite being a good king or queen. They always think they know better despite how good things have went
I really don’t understand problem with these peasants. Specially in previous game. They just have to blame everything on king. Do some work idiots.
Even in now they are starving for some reason despite living in capital of biggest and most powerful kingdom. It was long time that war has happened recently. Does these people even work if they have time for blaming mc while they don’t have food.
Definitely should have recover from past war problems mostly at this point. They literally live in a kingdom whose kings or queens are decided by a magic sword that picks the best candidate. The fact we have to sabotage in this one to shut the Richard crap down is ridiculous. We are literally preparing for a civil war those idiots so leadership might not matter when spys and assassins are probably on the way here. If the kingdom survives hopefully they shut up about everything
Sometimes i think these idiots deserve everything what happens to them.
They are supporting prince who wasn’t chosen and is incompetent&unproven while king hasn’t done anything bad and just started his reign. While they themselves are incompetent and can’t even feed themselves and then they go to blaming king for what happens to them.
It’s called greedy people wanting a puppet to rule so they can benefit regardless of the iffy and dubious nature of some likely cursed sword choosing the next ruler.
Greedy, lazy and incompetent idiots. They can’t even feed themselves in time of peace.
Not on all commoners but one who blames everything on new king while doing nothing for themselves and are supporting incompetent prince(if we don’t poison them)which can cause civil war while we might be facing invasion.
You got a real vendetta on the commoners don’t ya.
Not that I disagree on your points but they are likely being manipulated by certain nobles like say said incompetent Prince’s kingly grandad and his pathetic daughter (though she’s likely too drunk to even think of that idea in my playhtrough)
The grandad is in Polaris, not Rhivenia proper. He doesn’t have lots of power in the capital when he’s rarely there, regardless of wealth so the commoners aren’t that affected by whatever bribes he may offer.
That being said, I would love to throw stones at the commoners :))
