Is the book two demo still somewhere?
@Dolphinwarlord, not sure. maybe someone has it archived somewhere when dashingdon closed down but chances are, they are keeping it private.
I honestly believe that succession problems exist precisely because all potential heirs are treated as heirs; that is, they form opinions about how the kingdom should be governed and seek allies for when they ascend to the throne, no one has a plan B, and it doesn’t help the king being capable to have 2 wives. And I don’t recall anything being said about other generations of our family. Is there a section that mentions how most generations have had succession problems and I missed or don’t remember?
One more thing, say what you will, but the sword managed to choose the heir who survived most of the problems involved in ruling and managed to have children. This may seem simple, but analyze the history of any dynasty and you will understand the problem. Perhaps the sword chooses precisely the one it knows will survive the adversity. Kind like “Hard times create hard man, hard man makes me horny” or whatever
“I’m so sorry Freya! But your boyfriend had a terrible accident where he ran right in front of the royal carriage!”

Exactly even without the sword choosing the problems are there. In this case having two wifes that obviously hate other that brainwashed their offspring to weaponize against the other half of the royal family. This combined with the favouritism really messed up everything. Thanks for leaving this crap show for everyone else to attempt to sort out Charles. The family is doomed to repeat your bloody cycle
The perfect storm really. Any of these things would have ruined things to a degree but Charles said let’s go for extra and have my kids repeat my failures before he peaced out, this whole thing is a mess but at least we get a drama filled IF out of this massively dysfunctional royal family.
It may be a recently bias. We don’t know what happened before our dear father’s time, hell have his soul.
In order to have a strong kingdom with so many powerful vassals, they probably had long time of peace between wars.
Serious stuff aside it would be pretty dang funny in a sort of twisted way if the Sword was merely meant to glow blue whenever it sensed perfect chaotic outcomes as some form of prank and need for entertainment by either the Witches or Namherys and it just became a prank that went overboard.
I certainly hope not. Hell needs to have standards. /s
Anyone know if the new update an actual update or just a bug fix?
It added Chapter 8, mostly the aftermath of the coronation but you can meet Lena and Astryn (for like 2 whole pages but still)
Richard allegations on this chapter are crazy
PS: Mog Lena, be the worst guest possible and don’t even bring guards, THIS IS YOUR DIVINE PREROGATIVE AS KING/QUEEN/RULER OVER YOUR VASSALS.
Ohhh damn was hoping for a new one
And of course ![]()

I am curious, what yall are going to do with Nicholas, Lena, Xavier and Astryn? The Royal ROs
How yall feel about them so far?
Nicholas: Prick, but he’s funny so I like him, I do wonder if we might have to send Freya, Richard or Atheris do a political marriage… I might have actually to deny depending on how he behaves lol.
Lena: Flirting a biiiit too much with treason, I mean i do get why she’s doing it but doesn’t mean I like it, also threathening her just feels like this meme.
Xavier: My pookie who would do no wrong.
Astryn: If she pulls out the same thing she did before then yeah… she’s dying lol.
Honestly I am the most curious of how Astryn is going to be now… thinking about I do wonder if that role is going to switch to Maevra who may or may not be a Black Cloak, and if it’s going to be only after us and not everyone else as collateral damage.
EDIT: Also i’m unsure if it was pointed out in a bug report already but uhhh, apparently Lena is 3 years old
Oh gosh… romancing her would make MC just like REAL LIFE WORLD LEADERS ![]()

Oh they’re great so far.
I agree in regards to Nicholas, he’s a lil prick. But he’s pretty funny at times and I vibe with him a lot. I feel the letter we were sent about an alliance with his kingdom will probably involve a new marriage pact.
Since his brother is now King, I suspect he’ll push for that, but instead of to us, it will be to one of our sisters. If so… Sorry Freya but you’re getting snake boi. She finds him hot anyways, Atheris can easily handle him but I actually love my sister and she doesn’t deserve all that.
However, I have a different idea. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if, while we’re there. We’d be able to launch a Coup to depose of Nicholas’ elder brother and install him as the new King in-return for an alliance.
It just fits Nicholas’ character, imho.
Xavier’s a good kid, I sent him home because he’s my friend… And future brother-in-law.
Lena’s trouble, so much damn trouble but its an attractive type of trouble that I cannot help but want to indulge-in. I’m going to wife her up or die trying lmao.
Her demands tho are mega rough, independence for a vassal is no small thing and as of right now I’m going to laugh about it and string her along with empty promises. That is to say, I’m not entirely against it, if the circumstances are right.
The war with the south will happen, if, I can conquer all of the south as retribution for their little holy war against me, I will grant her her independence because Rhivenia is getting more vassals, lands and resources in the end, if not tho… Sorry Lena but I’m going to need you to get back in line.
I will be honest, I didn’t like Astryn in the original book… Like, at all lmao. So I have a bias against her. She was raised to hate me and my people, so I have no qualms against having Locke carve her up for every last bit of information she knows about cousin Erwan and his army.
I just hope she is more palatable this time or else I will just have to do what I did in the original game and send her head back to Erwan as a promise.
Maevra’s a black cloak, the signs are too obvious and I will be honestly surprised if she turns out not to be, but if she is, I suspect torturing and beheading a royal prisoner of war isn’t going to get me into her good graces, let’s just hope she will see I’m doing this for the benefit of my kingdom and people. If not… We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
Honestly it’s all going to depend how be treats Freya and Atheris, I don’t think Nicholas is a bad but… outsids of being a prick but he’s our mildly annoying princely friend!
Also if instead it’s about couping his brother then yeah i’m down for it cus it would be mad funny.
Xavier has such kicked puppy vibes that even when I try to see him as a tool, I just can’t feel anything other than feeling bad for him.
Truly the “accidentally arrest a child, forget about them and realize they being jailed for over 15 years” crusader kings experience.
Honestly I do respect the guts… but honestly there’s no real way to sugarcoat it, that’s some lowkey treason i am not giving her shit, the crown shall remain absolute.
I’m willing to give shit to help them, perhaps lower taxes or something, but independence? Eh… welp time to make Xavier the next king I suppose…
The whole “how 2 deal with rebelious vassals” lessons was totaly foreshadowing for Lena and likely Nicholas… actually perhaps about Astryn too.
Astryn is honestly the one i am both the most eager to encounter and also the least, it REALLY depends on her role.
I think like it’s… definitely going to be extra rough considering Maevra is right there, sorry Astryn! But the “will literally just kill you” spot has been taken by VERY LOYAL AND TOTALLY WON’T TRY TO KILL ME knight who will princess carry me to the throne room and tuck me in.
Even if you consider her hatred, the whole INCIDENT, she killed a lot of people and this is not even to begin with the fact she intentionally allowed this whole war to happen
IMO the only reason one should romance her, is to fully consolidate the south, and that’s it.
Correct me if am wrong but doesn’t Maevra just… don’t care about morality? She seems to judge you more on how you treat her, or rather how you treat the peasants who require help.
As long you aren’t a utter tyrant “behead everyone who sneezes wrong at me / Queen of Hearts-maxxing” we are likely fine.
AND I! HAVE RECEIPTS!
Counter argument: Making Lena the next Queen instead? Rhivenia is an independent kingdom after all. She can stil rule Rhivenia’s vassal, Asinea , even dividing it among any of hers and MC’s children that are not chosen by the sword next.
A win-win situation. Lena rules Asinea, she also becomes the Queen of an independent Kingdom, everyone wins!
I want to try and play a morally grey “does nice things because they benefit me and my kingdom” type of MC, but Xavier’s one of those spots for me where it breaks down into me just doing nice things because I’m not a monster. Half the reason I send him back is to get in Lena’s good graces, but the other half is just because I’m not a maniac and I didn’t wanna kidnap this guy, yet everyone acts like it’s some insane soft-hearted move to send him back. Not only is it morally kinda messed up to kidnap a kid, but the strategic benefits of taking him are questionable even in the best case, and straight up nonexistent at this point; I really can’t think of a reason you wouldn’t just send him back because he really doesn’t deserve any of this.
That’s why Arrange marriage plot was better and that makes lena romance more interesting
I hope we can still get away with giving independence by marrying lena otherwise it would’t make sense
One thing I noticed that if romancing Xavier, you don’t really have an option to leave a ‘wish’ at the tree. I hope it gets added later; I could just imagine Lena losing her mind over it, or else playing her inner machiavelli.
