My good boy wants to bring back the Roman Empire
. Or as it says ‘ woof woof ‘
You know what? Everyone’s opinion is wrong, the dog should be the ruler of Rhivenia.
At this point, I’d be disappointed if that dog doesn’t turn out to be Chekhov’s dog or something.
Chekhov has both a gun and a dog at this point.
Hopefully there’s a version of it for lesbian PCs if they do actually have something like that lol. Magical IVG ftw.
Actually, she didn’t do enough. The fact that playwrights weren’t publicly executed is a mercy to them for their crimes.
Insulting royal family? → High treason. By extension, insulting Your King → High treason. By extension, insulting Your Deity → Blasphemy.
(Because ruler is annointed through divine directly)
Imagine going to William the Conqueror and calling him a cuck, the fuck do you expect is gonna roll next? Your head
Imagine going to Alexander II (he was a pope at William’s time) and calling his God a cuck, the fuck do you expect is gonna roll next? Your head
I’m kinda surprised noone mentioned the fact that all sword’s chosen face infighting in the family. The very same fact that is being taught in the beginning. So this leads me to name it:
Sword’s worthiness is measured in chosen’s future being filled with misery/suffering
And this, in turn, leads me to two hypotheses:
- Namherys is a cruel god who chooses a “worthy” ruler on measure of their future being filled with suffering inflicted by family
- The sword is not a gift from Namherys but a hoax from those witches (at least it can explain the fact why we keep seeing that woman)
Which begs the question: what crime needs to be commited for this punishment: a punishment that affects an entire kindgom (through it’s ruler). Hell, those witches that got killed could have been/are “true” chosen of Namherys
You know I did think the Sword as possibly cursed or at the very least a ploy by either the witches or Namherys. After all what God in fiction isn’t outright cruel and petty at best, regardless it’s telling that every leader of Rhivenia has to deal with family infighting that more often than not turns said rulers into cruel people.
Mainly speaking with modern sensibilities wherein satirizing or criticizing your country’s leaders is totally allowed (any modern examples notwithstanding), but point taken.
And as my head rolls and I’m laid to rest, I’m still getting laid unlike that cuck William the Conqueror. ![]()
Tbf, infighting due to someone feeling they’re more worthy of the throne isn’t exactly uncommon either, so maybe it really is coincidence. That being said, I agree, there is something up with that sword whether it’s a blessing from a god or a curse from witches because it’s still suspicious that a supposed holy sword would always pick a contentious ruler unless it’s just a canon event that every single member of the royal family has issues with it.
Fair point infighting in royal families is fairly common especially if a sibling deems themself more suited to rule be it through jealousy or arrogance or simply a desire for power. Civil wars were started for far lesser reasons than some jealous younger or older sibling after all, and it seems Rhivenia regardless of the Sword has a history of civil wars of that nature.
I guess I didn’t leave the best impression for the alliance meeting since I literally didn’t trust anything while there. Glad to know we can actually do something about Richard soon when this whole thing blows over. Even his mother probably knows what’s going to happen thanks to his stupidity and insecurities. The terms are way more reasonable this time so a bunch of us will probably actually do it instead of doing it purely for ro aspect.
It’s not the presence that bothers me, just the lack of choice involved with the dog. If the dog remained in the family (just give it to Atheris or Freya maybe) and we could choose how we felt about it and limited our interactions for people who didn’t love dogs, I wouldn’t have a single complaint about it.
I get genuinely grossed out when we let the dog lick us or sleep with it in our bed and it has me just skipping through scenes…
…Ah. I got roped into yapping about it again. I just can’t help myself I guess.
We really need the option to have Richard quietly dissappear. We can make a hand waving gesture like in the movie the dictator.
NO, NO! NOT LIKE IN THE DICTATOR! I get wym but we all know that none of the people in The Dictator actually got executed, they all escaped to another country with the help of the assigned Executioner who was secretly part of the rebellion.
I have a question, can you stop Sir Locke from torturing Xavier?
Nope, spoiler tag that btw.
Fairly good ideas there. Myself, I was figuring at his core Namherys is a war god; I mean, why else make his will known except through a sword?
As such, perhaps some of his attributes leak through to what would be his chosen; the PC…which means there could always be an increased chance of fighting, discord, etc.
Hmm, if this was set like in ancient Mesopotamia, this would mean our Queen/King would also be the chief priest of Namherys.
That is why I was curious if the sword might pick someone else if there was a successful rebel, having beaten their chosen.
This plot honestly more suitable in old version before reboot where we can be bad guy and the sword not actually not chose us automatically but well maybe that only me who think like that
I have a question for @NutellaQueen
In the old version, we didn’t meet a certain pirate lover of our dear sister Freya,, my question is:
Can we please, please, please, please meet him soon?
