lol you either copied the wrong thing or you are completely drunk
I wish she killed someone, that we could defend to an extent. Anyway Atheris is the only stable one and frankly outside of the kid we adopted and Revna, she is the only one I would risk anything for at this point. Oh and mother too.
He wanted to know what why I now hate Feyra.
Depending on what happens next, imma just go full charles and say screw it what’s one less sibling.
Aw man, I’m guessing whatever dumb thing Freya did has to do with her pirate lover.
It’s one more day until August where I live so maybe I’ll join the Patreon for next month. Quite curious about Book 2…
Demo not found,
What did i miss ?
The second book is not yet available for the public yet. You can join the author’s patreon for early access.
So book 1 is finised?
Yes. Book 1 is available.
Why commoner treat mc ruler like trash ? It not fair for mc ruler. I really upset about it
I apologize if I am repeating something many times asked (tried searching and googling), but is there a romance guide or something for the game? Just finished my first playthrough of the game - loved it! - and while I tried to be friendly/flirty towards several characters, I do not think I got any romance in the end. Plus, when I had to choose how I felt about certain characters, the top/seemingly romantic options were all greyed out.
Did I make “wrong” choices or is this intentional? My MC was not chosen by the Sword, if that affects it.
I’ve been working on one for a while but keep forgetting to update it with Astyn’s route ^^; really sorry about that, just been busy with animation work recently. She’s the last one I need to update and then I’ll post (I swear lol).
It’s strange how you keep getting greyed out options though as the ROs in the game are honestly quite easy to romance.
Keep in mind some characters will not become options if you state you have romantic feelings for another character as well when prompted (ex; Daemir, Revna and Astryn will only be available if it’s just them). And in Astryn and Daemir’s cases there are no confessions at the end of book 1 because their routes are more slow burn in nature.
Off topic, but I’m going to play the Demo tonight for Book 2! shall give a (non-spoiler) review soon!
Very much looking forward to your guide then!
But yeah. I do not think I had any proper confession moments though. I think closest (for any RO, Daemir - and ladies - aside) I came to any full-on “romantic/pining” scene was when I went with Jarean to city and we had dancing and I could look at him kinda intensely but that is it.
I still assume though, that this has something to do with my choices/not having high enough relationships. We will see, either through your guide or another playthrough
Okay everyone, so I played through the demo on Patreon and here is my non-spoiler review about the first 2 chapters (I won’t reveal any plot details out of respect for Nutella as it’s Patreon exclusive).
So far, I have only played through the demo once for the sake of this review and I based it on my first playthrough of Book 1 where I romanced both Xavier and Jarean. However, the demo only acknowledged Xavier as my RO - not sure whether that is intentional or a bug.
The demo was really short and Nutella said she may add more scenes to it. I’m hoping she does because even though I enjoyed it, it went by really quick and I feel like you could have a few more moments to just talk to characters.
From Book 1 to Book 2
So first of all, the demo starts off by asking you questions regarding how you played the game in Book 1. This is because the demo can’t import save file data. However, I think this will be an option regardless when Book 2 is officially released. So for anyone like me who played Book 1 about 30+ times and can’t keep track of their files anymore, this will be really useful so you don’t have to restart the game again from the beginning of Book 1 to check out the new features.
Astryn and Matteo
Your choices regarding Astryn and Matteo will have have an effect on your alliances early on (which is a given) as well as how the people view you. If you’ve chosen to forgive them both everyone is going to start questioning your position of power and if you’re really reliable to take the throne. I had no option to interact with Astryn (might change if you romance her) in the first 2 chapters.
Daemir / Revna
We still get the POV of Daemir/Revna if they were the one we decided to send back home. So they’re still going to be relevant in the story, just to a lesser extent.
Queen Lena
You get a chance to interact with and develop a dynamic with Lena even if you chose to marry Xavier.
My thoughts on Lena: Honestly, I can already tell she’s going to have half the fandom split due to her personality - but I actually like her.
If you’re someone who can quip back and forth and have patience you’ll enjoy her as she’s similar to our first appearance of her in Book 1 with the insults. However, you get an impression that it’s a bit of a front in response to having to lead her kingdom for so many years while her brother was gone and her father killed. Her rudeness honestly makes sense given she’s still carrying the anger of both her father’s death by our families hand and torturing her brother. She’s more complex than you’d think I’d say and if you look at things from her perspective of being left alone for years to toughen up and take a throne she didn’t expect to get all the while dealing with grief and worry - I totally get her attitude.
She’s a snippy tough shell but deep down has a heart. You just need to melt the ice around it, it seems as the story goes on.
She actually shows surprise if you show sincere apology towards her regarding your Father’s actions. Implying she expected you to act different and probably acts the way she does due to a particular image of us she has formed in her mind throughout the years.
One thing I will say about Lena is that it’s clear she truly does care about her brother and is protective of him. She’s not totally the cold or uncaring person some players have taken to viewing her as. So long as you agree to marry her or Xavier she will stay loyal to you regardless of her actual relationship with you.
I remember before the demo released I was really curious about the fact that Lena can not only fall in love with the player but Clara as well. Given how Lena acts and is described and how Clara is arguably the kindest RO I wondered why she’d be drawn to her. But I think I have an idea of how their dynamic will go now and it makes sense.
Our Siblings
Richard - So, I’ve always liked Richard and I think everyone on the forums probably know that by now lol. He’s my favourite of our siblings and I find his character’s flexible relationship with you interesting.
And from our interactions in Book 2 (which were brief) that hasn’t changed so far. He’s still a warm and supportive brother if you had a good relationship with him. Not sure how he’ll be on different routes, but I can get back to you all on that after a few more playthroughs.
Atheris - I actually grew to like her even more than I already did. Richard is still my favourite but Atheris is by far the more level headed and rational one of the siblings and honestly it feels so good having a sibling you don’t need to side eye every 5mins in the hopes they don’t fuck you over (accidentally or not). We interact with her the most in both chapters and given how stressful it can be with your people doubting you and the aftermath of Book 1, it’s really nice to have her around. Both her and Sir Arnold were my comfort characters during this demo lmao.
Freya - I’m 100% convinced that Book 2 is going to be Freya’s turn to be on the fandom’s shit list. It seems like she’s going to make Book 2 quite difficult for players in different ways regardless of whether you keep/reveal her secret. I decided to keep her secret again and already she’s got me sweating buckets for what will happen in the future. I haven’t done a 2nd playthrough yet where I see the outcome of revealing her secret affair with her pirate lover but given how she’s acting in this Book, I am getting a Francis vibe from her further down the line. People give Richard a lot of flack, but honestly I truly believe Freya to be the least rational of the siblings and the one who will actually cause the most issues. I feel like Richard could do some damage, but that’s very much dependant on how you treat him and most players won’t naturally experience that. Freya however, I feel like is going to throw you into tough choices regardless.
Tameran
We got a brief POV from him, but no actual interactions within these chapters. I can’t say what happens in his POV as it’s plot relevant but I’m interested in seeing more of him.
Leia
If you decided to adopt Leia you get more scenes with her and she’s officially acknowledged as part of the family now (not a spoiler as it’s a given). She’s very cute and I love her.
Overall thoughts on the first 2 chapters
Positives:
- The alliance situation is sorted out right away so we have an idea of how many people we actually have backing us up right now.
- We interact with Lena early on and get to properly converse with her a few times
- Some nice moments with Sir Arnold, Atheris, Leia, your RO and Matteo (if you didn’t kill him).
- I like that your character still reflects back on King Charles and in a way the flashbacks/memories into his past provide insight and almost a guide (if you choose it to be) on what we the player may end up deciding to do in the future regarding choices we make.
- I like the selection of questions at the very beginning for players to tailor their Book 2 experience. I really hope Nutella decides to keep that as an option to save some time for multiple playthroughs.
- I’m really curious to learn more about Tameran and how our relationship with him will affect the kingdom(s).
- I like that instantly we’re already having to deal with the consequences of our actions from Book 1’s final chapter.
Negatives:
- I wish it was longer overall (Nutella did say she’d like to add more scenes though)
- Would be nice to have moments similar to Book 1 where we can choose who to talk to and interact with just for the sake of relationship building and seeing how some other characters feel about what’s going on. For example, I’d have liked to have spoken to Freya one on one at some point if I chose to keep her secret yet again for her.
- Not sure if I’m misremembering, but Freya acknowledges Leia in Book 1 right? because in book 2 she doesn’t seem to know who she is. I think this may be an oversight.
- The other ROs outside of the one you chose are honestly quite vacant from the chapters. For example, the demo registered me as having Xavier as my RO and I didn’t get to interact with Daemir (alternatively Revna), Astryn, Clara or Jarean even once.
Feel free to ask me any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them (if I can). So far I think Book 2 looks promising.
I have Daemir romance point guide here somewhere while you wait for Valky’s full guide.
Edit: Here it is:
Applicable for both ruler and non-ruler MC. Based from my experience, Xavier and Clara are the easiest to romance without a guide.
@Valky Thanks for the insight on the Book 2 Demo. I’ll probably wait for a couple of months before subscribing again.
This was really helpful and informative, thanks for sharing! I hope Book 2 will deal with the consequences of our actions in an interesting way (and maybe address some of the common complaints about Book 1, but it seems a bit early to judge that).
You’re very welcome!
I will say right now that the stats still haven’t came into play yet (which I know was a complaint with Book 1). However, it is just the first 2 chapters and Nutella isn’t finished with them yet. I do know that when I began the demo one of the first questions it asked me was if I favoured the bow or sword - so it seems like later on in Book 2 our weapon experience will be acknowledged in battle and may have consequences (perhaps some allies may die if we can’t save them). I was also asked what I decided to spend my time doing (reading books in the library, learning a new language, etc) so it seems like that choice will also have some impact later on as well.
The first 2 chapters were focused on the aftermath of Book 1’s ending and dealing with the alliances and establishing that groundwork. Then ended in a way that implies the next big plot event - so I think these parts are just about getting the major choices acknowledged and the key decisions cemented first before we go into other things.
Nutella has been open to feedback and suggestions on Patreon, so I’ve been playing through the demo repeatedly to find bugs and thinking of things that could be added to or elaborated on just to pad both parts out a tad more and change the pacing a little.
I always view Lena as a worthy , (perhaps even honorable ) queen of her own, and as an Emphatic MC, i didn’t border with her sarcastic approach at all , as long as she can help us with the fight with Pagonia .
I understand that if I forgive Astryn and becomes her protector , i will gain negative impact , but i thought Matteo’s secret could be kept ? If the secret is not spare , his sister and Richard would be in trouble as well .
I do hope we can finally enlist the “aid” of Erza (Jareen’s sister ) and the thieves , perhaps there is a thieving guild as well ? to gain the hideout location of the traitors so that i can either arrest them all, or perhaps a choice of asking the thieves to assassinate them as well…
Except if you romance Clara, then he is your enemy. It doesn’t matter any other choice, if you were friends, what happened to his uncle, if you promised to marry him or not. He doesn’t care at all about those things, only Clara.
The problem isn’t letting Matteo alive, but telling you have no idea who killed Charles. If you let him live, killed Astryn and blamed the death of your father on Astryn, you can still please your allies.
That is true, but keep in mind that Matteo in Book 1 makes it clear that he wants to tell them the truth at some point. So there’s a good chance that your allies could find out you blatantly lied to them and your family will be upset you allowed him to live (even his sister and Richard express killing him was the best outcome even if they’re upset). So even though right now there’s a way to skirt around it, there is very much a possibility it will become an issue later on.
After playing through it numerous times to test every outcome, you’re right. I will say though it feels really weird and offbeat if you did actually play Book 1 with the highest relationship you could get with him and then in Book 2 he suddenly hates you. I understand from a gameplay and a coding standpoint it’s a bit iffy to try and create a work around with a slight difference, but it is quite a jarring leap unless you already had that relationship with him in Book 1 to begin with. I’m choosing to interpret the severity in attitude as everything hitting him at once and he’s acting out lmao. But it is understandable even if blown out. I feel like either way MC x Clara or not, we will have some issues involving him since it is very much implied Richard can’t take Clara as a lover on the side while engaged even if it wasn’t stated as part of the requirements in Book 1 for the alliance so it seems like both Richard and Freya may lead us to some drama later down the line.
In all my playthroughs, I never once romanced clara, I dont want to go through all that sibling rivalry as I have a pretty good relation with both of my siblings (I just cant stand Freya’s selfishness). But Richard has to grow up and respect Clara’s choice, its a ridiculous reason to want to murder your own sibling who had nothing but been kind and supportive to him just for Clara who doesnt even see him that way.
I never forgive matteo because he doesnt deserve that. He let xavier be tortured for years and was annoyed when we confessed that he escaped. He may have treated his wounds but its not enough, he could have stopped the moment he realized there was a war coming. Sir Arnold was right that it was an obsession and I fear Richard may end up the same way as his uncle if he doesnt let go of his own.
