Well…don’t get your hopes up. I once speculated house Mealiah is something you’d expect to come out of a union between Tywin Lannister and Olenna Tyrell. In other words obscenely rich schemers who are as dangerous as they are pretty.
So, yeah, while my mc doesn’t know any better as the reader I’m kinda dreading the meet with mc’s grandparents…
First I want to say that I love this story but I have a concern about missing out on content if you play as male MC(especially a straight male)
There are fewer female ROs compared to male ROs (4 vs 6) and only 3 out of the 4 can be romanced by a straight male MC BUT that by it self is not a problem since unfortunately most other WIPs tend to have more male ROs
The issue that I have with this is that if you play a female MC you get as we know already 2 story lines that are only available to you:
1- The arranged marriage
2- The story line about how you sneak off to war and wear a disguise so they don’t know that you are a woman(which I honestly think is an amazing idea) and I think you get to meat Iseriah and bond about it.
So I’m just wondring will there be unique story lines for a male MC as well or are we going to miss out on content if we don’t play as a female MC?
…you realize that the reason the female MC needs to sneak off to war is because women are not permitted to fight? That’s not a storyline unique to F!MC, it’s a story that diverges based on gender. The M!MC can still go to war, and have unique experiences that F!MC doesn’t have access to.
I don’t know why you guys ignored everything I said and focused on the sneaking of to war part so you can discredit everything I said smh
I know that both M/F MC have to sneak off to war BUT the female MC has a story behind it also she wears a mask of a famous warrior and people think it’s him + she has an interaction with Iseriah because of the war so even in the war the female MC has more content.
Again my question was we know 2 things that happens only to a female MC, will there be things that are unique to a male MC?
Oh, I never get my hopes too high with nobility in stories. That’s like going to the Orlesian court completely honest with your intentions, wearing last season’s fashion while using the wrong fork during a dinner party: you’ll gain nothing, lose everything, and possibly end up stabbed by the fork you were supposed to be using.
Pretty sure I may have said it in a past post, but it really does sort of feel like Ysonia has been not too eager about introducing the Seventh Heir to them too soon and the few things heard about them definitely paint them as deadly and cunning. The fact that other side of the family considers MC a Maeliah first and foremost (a sentiment Eraven seems to strongly share in a way too) already seems to imply they have some form of plans in mind for the Seventh Heir. And considering that both sides have little love for each other, who knows what that may involve.
That said, it’s still pretty impressive how determined the Dahlas side looks like it will be with shooting themselves repeatedly in their own foot in regards to the Seventh Heir. If they had played their own cards right, they could have possibly had made it harder for the Maeliah to pursue those plans they had for MC, maybe even have had a more willing pawn if they had chosen to play nicer (the MC was close to Terri and Bae during the nursery days; the seeds of having a stronger tie to the Dahlas side were there to a extent). But Eraven completely lacked the personality, skills, or foresight probably all three at once; definitely personality though to consider that course of action, and just immediately decided to treat MC as a threat (with others following his example, especially a good deal of his other children). He might as well have gift wrapped MC in the best wrapping paper with every useful tool included to send to the Maeliah side.
Definitely don’t know what to expect as a reader how the Maeliah family will receive MC. But again, not sure how they can make a worse impression than Eraven did.
Vulcan may be interested in seeing the Maeliah, but not sure how he’ll take to half of those plans that side of his family may have (feel like he’s going to be a neutral party who doesn’t really favor either side).
Not gonna lie, I don’t think Eraven would last that long in the Game. He has the technical power, but he doesn’t have the personality nor patience to deal with it either. If he lasted long in it, it would be more because of the people in his service having a better understanding of the Game.
Hi there! Pretty new here, hope I’m not asking a silly question!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this WIP and wanted to check it out. The sense of atmosphere and worldbuilding was really cool, but the demo ends right after I leave the nursery and see my new bedrooms (age 7). Is that normal? I read some other posts and was under the impression there’d be more content - did I click the wrong demo or something?
