What did @OtherGrimm mean by additional content?
I mean that, from what I understand, the demo continues past the nursery, but only for Patreon members. So, by that measure, you do have to pay to continue playing - the only âfree contentâ is up to the point of leaving the nursery.
I could be wrong, but thatâs what it seems like to me based on the discussion of this thread.

Hey! Just wanted to pop in and say yes, there is an extended demo (aka alpha preview), which is available on Patreon for the Sovereign tier, which is stated to always be a bit ahead of the beta demo. Fawkes is atm taking a much deserved break, so thereâs not a set schedule as to a future update as far as Iâm aware.
I understand everyoneâs very eager to see as much more of the world of Ophaesia as they can, but even authors need to eat :).

Well of course thereâs going to be more content eventually, itâs just that at the moment Fawkes is still dealing with health issues and I donât just mean a little flu. Anyone who has a chronic condition will understand exactly how much energy it takes just to do the bare minimum. And as is the case with anything interrupted by chronic conditions, thereâs just no telling when the game will be updated, and this shouldnât come as a surprise or disappointment to anybodyâcreating a game is a huge undertaking even for those of us who are blessed with tons of time, money, and energy to work on our projects.
But before I go, Iâd like to preemptively shoot down anyone who has it in their head that this means Fawkes is getting paid via Patreon without updating the game. She has it set so that Patrons are only ever charged when there is new content. At the moment, Patreon is not a source of income for her, and any comments that seek to imply otherwise for whatever reason will be deleted.
Now, letâs get the topic back on trackâ
Yes, Fawkes has mentioned that you will be able to meet your Maeliah relations in-game. I also recall that one of the MCâs cousin can become a companion later in childhood.

Yes, your cousin Basitha (son of your uncle Methian, Ysoniaâs eldest brother) is supposed to serve as your companion (male lady in waiting) once you turn 16, along with Nethica and Kyrisen (Kaedraâs twin brother). You will have chances to interact with your maternal family, and possibly align yourself with or against them.

I think that we might meet our Elder half siblings.
As @rose-court stated above, the author is still dealing with chronic health issues, so thereâs no point in speculating when access will happen. Also, asking thisâ
âis essentially asking when the WIP will be updated, which is against the forum rules. Letâs not do that in the future!

For one, majority of the authors here are a one man project and not their main source of income since they are not employees of HG/CoG that they get monthly wages. They mostly do this as their side project while juggling RL stuff.
So we help by not putting pressure on the authors.
