I don’t imagine my MC would approve of Nethica’s philandering ways(he’d expect him to be mature and would try to help him grow out of it), we only know that the MC can have a temporary relationship with Kyrisen(my MC isn’t interested in men), I think it was also mentioned he’s somewhat of a dick(which is why he and Nethica hate each other), and we basically know nothing about Basitha other than the fact he’s our cousin.

It was for the longest time my favorite series, but I read a trilogy earlier this year that now has that title (and it is nothing like the Kushiel’s Legacy series).

Now I’m insanely curious, which trilogy actually managed to unseat Kushiel’s Legacy?

Some family-related questions today:

• What’s Ysonia’s relationship with her parents like? What about with her brothers?
• How much of her marriage was her own idea (meaning, she wanted to marry Eraven for whatever reason) and how much was it her family’s?
• Did she ever love Eraven, and did he ever love her? When did their relationship start to sour?
• Why didn’t she marry Neraven? She’d still have become queen in the end, and her children would be crown prince/princess instead of fourth or seventh in line. Plus, her reputation wouldn’t have suffered for allegedly poisoning the queen.
• Will we have the opportunity to carry on correspondence with our siblings, and will that affect our relationships with them? I’m thinking mostly of our sisters abroad, but Olarion at university would also be interesting.
• Lastly, could you give us any idea of our Maeliah grandparents’ and uncles’ personalities…? Maeliah cousins too, if you’re willing. I know that’s quite a lengthy question to answer, so you can just say ‘spoilers’ if you’d rather not type it all out

I’m an only child, so stories with big families always really interest me, and I’m already trying to figure out scenes/fanfiction for my MCs with their siblings and relatives. Hence, the mountain of questions. You’ve the patience of a saint, Fawkes!

You’ll have ladies-in-waiting as a princess and gentlemen-in-waiting (usually just called “companions”) as a prince. Jasiphae, Iseriah, and Kaedra are your ladies-in-waiting, and Nethica, Kyrisen (Kaedra’s brother), and Basitha (your Maeliah cousin) are your companions.

Do my eyes deceive me, Nethica will be our male mc’s companion? If so yay!
So when exactly does our male mc acquire his “companions” and will Nethica be one from the start or only later on?
If I recall you also said something in the past about Nethica and Kyrisen not really getting along?

I get the feeling that Kyrisen/Kaedra is there because Eraven wanted his spymaster’s kid to keep tabs on the MC, Ysonia put Basitha/Iseriah (I think it’s been mentioned her family is close with the Maeliahs) there for the same reason

Seems logical, not that my mc will particularly like it, since it means having companions he’ll never be able to fully trust in.

and Nethica/Jasiphae is there as both a compromise and a way of appeasing a powerful family.

With Nethica at least I think my poor mc will be hoping his (first) crush is there because he likes him too.

I’m just glad there’s no forced wedding for male mc’s. Though mine will probably at least try to marry either Sebby or Nethica eventually.

As Fawkes said earlier, there are many gay male characters in the game, including the MC’s brother Olarion. Why does it have to be an R/O to count as representation?
