The Order of The Rose - Wield True Power as an Agent of The Empire

So. Sorry about all these delays. I was recently surprised by my family when they just had us get on a flight to India for vacation. Yay!!! On one hand this is fun, on the other hand, I didn’t have my laptop with me. This means that during my few weeks here in this beutiful country I will be unable to work on the game. The beta will be posted though, as soon as I can get my hands on a laptop and a functioning internet connection. Thanks for all the support, and happy new year!

Whoops. Major typo. Anyways. I wanted to ask the nice people on this thread if they could help me out real quick. I want to give you guys the chance to help create a few of the companions, so if you guys could just post some ideas it would be great. Just let me know what you would like to see in companions, their quests, personalities, etc.

Relationships should regarded and be extended to both heterosexual and homosexual relationships. As the matter of an identity of the companions/followers/partners, I have few ideas if you would consider

  • Royal family = “keeping the enemy close” = perhaps directly affecting your status within the order as well as relationship with the Black Prince and his followers. Whether the consequences are negative or positive should be decided upon the choices you make: such as betraying beliefs of the order to help your companion or using your companion’s trust to get info for an advantage. He/she may seem arrogant but have a childish personality and wants your wholesome attention.
  • Mage = “the powerful one” = you mentioned there would be mages that will further develop the character. So why not romancing with one of them? You could even make it more interesting by: a) abuse the relationship and selfishly use the mage’s power to enhance yourself regardless of how your companion may end up, b) ask and persuade your magical companion to curse your target/enemy, c) disappear (leave all behind and go to another dimension or something), etc… He/she is usually calm and very intelligent. He/she is always advising pp for the best of intentions: very caring type of person.
  • Fellow order member = “the competitor” = you and your companion were initially rivals competing to survive another day as the member of the order. Then like any other typical romances, something happens: during mission you save each other’s lives, take the blame for a failure of a mission, or protect your companion when he/she turns out to be a spy from the Black Prince and is about to be executed, and etc… He/she is very quiet and stern, perhaps insensitive if you will. But he/she is devoted to hi/her duties and to you.
  • Knight of the Rose = “the wannabe” = you have an admirer. He/she desired to become the member of the order but was not qualified/chosen. So he/she joined the Knights of Rose in order to keep close to the order. Then when you assemble group of knights for quests you encounter him/her. During small breaks and night watch you talk to him/her to boost the relationship. I guess you can even choose to sacrifice this admirer towards the end if you are in grave danger and like tragedy. He/she is young and energetic. You might even feel a bit annoyed; he/she is a total chatterbox. But it is always fun to be around him/her
  • Target = “betrayal” = you are on a mission/quest to eliminate one of the corrupted noble . There you infiltrated to the target’s estate pretending to be one of the employee working in the mansion. However as time passes you realize the target/target’s son or daughter has been framed and actually innocent. Here you can go further and expand the story about an irony of the order as it seems that the grandmaster himself/herself is corrupted and abusing his/her order. That is when you must choose to take part in framing your innocent companion or betray your order and become a vehicle of justice yourself with the providence of resources from your companion’s estate. OVERTHROW the regime and even become the new Monarch. Somewhat arrogant as their status suggests. But good person at heart. Well-mannered but perhaps hot-tempered a little.
  • Grandmaster = “the respected” = you are very powerful and wise. You become the next grandmaster after an unfortunate event that caused the death of previous grandmaster. Your companion will be one of the new recruit taking your place in the order as you are now taking place of the ceased grandmaster. As you spend many hours with the new recruit to inform and educate him/her about the order and missions, you feel the chemistry.

There are so much more you can do. I hope I helped you out a little! Good luck.

Will definitely use the wannabe option, and a few others are quite intriguing as well! Thank you for the feedback!

Maybe a companion that think he/she is better than you and tries to tell you what to do and lead the others himself/herself.This kind of companion usually hates you in the beginning but maybe by trusting them they can also trust you more.

I certainly don’t have as many ideas as the person above but might as well try to help.

I think we need a pragmatic villain option companion.
One who introduces themself by helping you with a mission but only helps if they think it will benefit. There stoic at first but opens up later. Talk to them and doing decisions they would do helps the relationship. Because of their mindset they usually hide from the order.

I’m toying with the idea of having a close friend of yours suddenly becoming your servant - Scratch that, slave, by his/her own personal choice, following you around everywhere you go.

That would be a bit awkward, imagine walking out of your bathroom to find a good friend of yours holding out your underwear for you.

Hell, try throwing some masochism fetishes while your at it, that would make a good laugh if you suddenly stumbled upon your closest, most loyal friend doing some… strange actions with your clothes.

Sorry, a little too much anime here.

Anyway, quests for that one would probably include trying to get him/her to get rid of his/her fetishes, if he/she has any. This one might also be a bit too obedient and a little bit too self-sacrificing, and one quest might involve trying to teach this one some independence, so he/she might actually do something without you ordering him/her to do somethi.ng

So. Definitely heard everyone’s opinion so far. I can say for a fact that having an antagonist become ur RO will happen, and having the wannabe will happen. I’m writing his/her part right now. I’ll look over the rep,it’s I get so enough. If someone could come up with a full, dynamic character that would work I would be sure to include them and give credit where it’s due. Keep feeding me ideas. Remember, by the players for the players, lol.

Will definitely see if I can work that into a character.

Perhaps a senior member of the order? Let me know.

Yes a senior, because he/she thinks they’re much better than you and that they deserve to be leader more than you,and maybe having them using their experience or connections with other members (since they know almost everyone) could be an option.

The first character I have created thus far based on user suggestions-

Max Jordisson- a member of the knight its of the order, Maximillian Jordisson rose quickly through the ranks when he joined the order at the age of seventeen years. He consistently explained his desire to join the actual ranks of the inquisitors, but was never permitted or given the test. This stems from the fact that Maxs father was a senior inquisitor and had expressed his dying wish to his brother, the current grandmaster. He stated that he knew how rotten the inquisition really was, and that he wanted his children to have no part in their intrigues. Unaware of this fact, Max continues to do his best to impress the Order, accomplishing impressive tasks and displaying very keen skill at arms. Being recently assigned as a liaison to a promising new recruit, Max hopes to make enough of an impression to win his way into the Order, and perhaps the Agents heart…

Thanks to @emichan11 for the idea. Hope you like it!

Note-there will be five more to come.

“I know this is strange, but it is for the better.” I think it is for the best would sound better. I found this on the Duros path when my character was speaking to his father.

“It woul dbe best if my heir was far away when that happened.” I think the d should be moved back to the “woul”. Again I found this on the Duros path when speaking with my father.

“THat could only mean one thing; he had attempted the silencing of another noble and failed.” I know that you were trying to emphasize “that” and just forgot to capitalize the rest but I think it would work better if you bolded and italicized it rather then capitalized the entire word.

“Duro. Once an oppressed servant of the Humans, your race rebelled and overthrew your masters, establishing yourself as a superior species. Having grown up as a noble your path seems to be set in stone, but anything is subject to change…” This is more of a personal preference but would you want to put “the” superior race rather then “a” superior race?

“Eventually, the Duro grew angrier tha ever before at their mistreatment.” I think you meant “then” rather then “tha”.

If you’d like I could be a beta reader for you.
