Ughhh your mc’s alignments got nothing to do with that, you just flopped the requirement
Then enlight me, I have no idea what it is
Just finished the new update and ahhhhh!!! That was so much fun! ;_; I honestly can understand why Æthel did what they did, though… poor Artie. And that was not really good planning too on Æthel’s part, what is their plan to keep Ædmund alive after all that trouble?
Also loving the new way we can break Daddy H (seriously my favourite part of the game. And I’m sure the Duchess would be immensely proud of us for doing so.), though there is a little bug!

The inheritance part is based on your relationship with the Duchess! You inherit her title and her seats in the council.
I should probably add that as a question you can ask, but basically since the prophecy specified that he’d die before he turned 18, they considered getting him to his 18th birthday to be enough to break the prophecy, and are just hoping that he won’t die in the whole end of the world thing.
Edit: Actually, if anybody else has any questions about stuff that wasn’t completely explained in the last chapter, please let me know so I can add them in.
While that is mostly true, it’s also true that the duchess can like your MC without feeling that they’d be suited to Council life, and so it is quite possible that @Gloomcat’s MC indeed was too good (or at least innocent) to inherit.
I have another question. How do we win the case? If anything, really. I play a “punch it until it works” MC and, while I did win the case before, it was completely on accident…
This is just my guess, but I think it is making the Duke look bad/unreliable in front of the Council. Dude is barely holding onto the position at the time of the trial and if you turn people against him he will lose leadership.
Try not to choose emotional options like “His name was Artie”, instead try options that make him lose his temper. Idk how it works with Strenght cuz I play Intelligence and MC mostly points out how he may be doing things against the Law.
Edit: Yay!
There are several ways to win, and @Gloomcat gives the overall idea, but I’ll give the easiest way here: Say nothing at all. For the entire trial. But I definitely recommend trying to find others.
for me, i remember saying things thats made that duke look like a complete fool in that court
Heya, I found that out accidentally beforehand, but thanks anyway!
Makes sense. The duke is so stupid that he would make himself look bad.

finally played the new update and i got to say… i love the new trans choices!! thank you for listening to the suggestions, now my trans mc feels happier than ever.
and before, i always wanted to revive/save artie, but now with even aethel’s demon literally refusing to do so… i changed my mind. elves and their silly game of politics and trickery it is💀
and another thing
now i’m reminded of the time that we meet alder the elf. turns out we wouldn’t have been lying if we told them our name was Jo Bloggs. really interesting detail, wonder how the baby naming spell works, exactly?
i also don’t get one part. please enlighten me. if artie was named artemis pendergrass, has there always been a chosen one? was that just a sham? or was it just right even if aethel did a little switcheroo?
This is definitely the hard path compared to the other two (not necessarily mechanically, but definitely narratively); I’m thinking I’ll even give you a chance to switch off it to one of the others in the coming chapter.
Well, both are connected: the baby naming spell explicitly changes a person’s True Name. In most cases, this doesn’t really do much – a True Name isn’t necessarily the name a person uses in day-to-day life, and nor is it necessarily the name a person receives from their parents – but in Artie’s case, the prophecy named them by their True Name, so it being changed caused the prophecy to change, too, even retroactively (prophecies are weird).
that would be interesting, though will there be a bit of a consequence for switching one to the other? like losing precious time by suddenly shifting to another plan? i feel that would be intriguing to implement
oh! that does make sense. while the baby naming spell doesn’t do much, it now seems like an OP spell that was pretty much overlooked? aahh i’m so excited to see how our dear Jo Bloggs will fare lol!
Not for the allies route – I couldn’t see that changing that much – but if I do let you swap to the computer route, you’d be a little late to start, and might be forced into choices you wouldn’t necessarily have made. This would probably be a little complex…
Well, it’s only OP in very specific circumstances, so it’s not surprising it was missed.
I’m probably just dumb and forgetting and/or missing something something, but why couldn’t Æthelgard do something like stop the teachers before they could execute their plan or something? Since if Artie isn’t kidnapped there’s no reason for Ædmund to go to the earth dorm.
Also I guess there goes my theory Æthelgard had a reason for picking the MC beyond them being in the right place at the right time.

That’s my fault, sorry. I forgot to explain the reason; it’ll be added in the next version, but for now: Æthelgard already tried. It went very badly.
