The Marked (WIP)-- Update 05/18/26–

Hey, I just finished playing the new update, and I wanted to ask if you would consider adding more dialogue variation in how we respond to Venali’s coldness? Currently, we only have the following options: hostile, timid, don’t talk, and neutral. I was thinking we could maybe have the ability to act more positively, charmingly, and/or playfully towards them, acting as if they weren’t trying to shut us out. I think it would be quite funny to see their frustration with us ignoring their attempts to distance themselves and would be quite in character for more charming MCs.

Also, with the Sokaf of Achia, I was wondering if in the rest of the scene we might be able to slightly intimidate them with our magical power, say if we were particularly adept and/or a dark magic user. For instance, possibly causing a nearby plant to die with a touch of our hand to show what we can do, maybe while even catching their arm in our grip, despite it not being proper. Just thought it would be a really cool response to them prodding us.

Oh I just realized there isn’t anything like that lol. Yeah, that sounds fine! I wouldn’t mind adding an additional response.

I will say that for Anle, an aggressive response might be a bit risky, but I haven’t updated the finished scene with them yet so you may be satisfied by it in the end!

Awesome, thank you! I asked as my MC, as they are, would see Venali’s coldness towards them as a challenge rather than be perturbed, so they would probably tease, flirt, and be their most charming towards them in an attempt to both mess with them a little and break down the distance Venali is trying to put between them.

Oh, incredibly risky haha. To my mind, only particularly proficient MCs could get away with this. A very high-risk, high-reward kinda choice. If you don’t succeed well… things are fucked, but if you do, I think it would make you even more interesting to Anle and also mitigates (or even inverses) the loss of interest you suffer with P for giving them info on your powers due to how you did it.

Anle is definitely throwing around their weight! But it would be risky in a…

you used your magic to intimidate the leader of a sovereign nation while attending a diplomatic summit full of leaders of a different sovereign nation all while representing your own sovereign nation kind of way lol. If I added it, no matter how high MC’s aptitude, it would probably lead to a game over of some kind. Which could still be fun tbh.

Which makes sense to me! I know it’s been mentioned to me before but I think my brain just wiped it. So thank you for bringing it up! I want to finish the wip portions first, but I will definitely add it.

Loved the range of choices, the story and lore is very interesting, loved the fluffy scenes… if I had one complaint so far it might be that it doesn’t feel like I’ve done very much maybe?

I’m seriously craving a big action scene, although I get we’re 1st years and that kinda stuff will probably come later :3

Everything up to orientation has sort’ve been an extended prologue lol so I get why it feels that way. I’m only just now getting into the main storyline which makes me think the game may be a bit longer than I originally intended.

I have a question, are you planning to add a Cheat mod for people who are only interested in the story? Also, I loved the game very much and it has many updates, so good luck and keep going.

Thank you! For now, I don’t have a cheat mode planned, but you never know. I’m happy you liked it though!

is it possible to have a “skip to chapter/part” option?

Eventually, maybe! I’ve thought about it, but also dread it because there’s a lot of customization, hidden stats and other variables that I track. It would be really tedious and full of spoilers. But at the same time I understand that it’s a lot to have to go through to get to the new content. I’ll see!

I’ve seen other authors use pre-made characters as an option to skip ahead. maybe that’ll make it easier?

Oh, right! Yeah, I think that could work. I’ll look into it.

Hiiii just wanna ask is there a specific dialogue or route I need to choose to unlock the other affinities? So far the only affinities I can access whenever I start a playthrough is Fir Water Air and Force the Light and Dark and the last one isn’t accessible to me

Hey! The light and dark affinity are measured with the virtuous/wicked stat. There are a couple of guides here in the thread and on tumblr. The last option is unlocked with the destiny potion that you can either steal or purchase from the merchant at the market. It’s not an additional affinity though! It just allows you to freely choose any of the elemental affinities (fire, water, air or force).

Oh okay haha I didn’t realize that Thank u🫰

How can I get the ability to have affinity for other elements beside Fire and Water?

Play to the stats with your choices and try different personalities. Or you can purchase (farm as activity, don’t give your allowance to Randall and go to the market in your free time) or steal (randomized outcome with high deception or festival activity) a destiny potion from the market.

Stats: honest (water), deception (air), control (force), emotion (fire), virtuous (light) and wicked (dark).
Personality: charming (fire), diplomatic (water), reserved (air) and broody (force).

Eeeekkkkkk! I’m in love with Leon already! And I love your writing. I’m really looking forward to read more. Do you have patreon?

Oh, awesome! I’m so glad to hear that! I don’t have a Patreon, so the Demo is all of it so far. I’m planning to commission an artist for all of the ROs sometime in the next few months though so I’ll post updates about that on tumblr!
