As for your question, an early crit reader had a lot of questions about the choices and wanted a lot of information. Since I personally dislike parenthetical additions, I did not want to go that route, nor did I wish to include the information in the main text. The ‘explain these choices’ option was a compromise. They are included heavily early on, but then are phased out, only returning when a new mechanic is introduced or similar.
I’ll look into adding a toggle in the stat screen to turn them off.
