If You Wanna Be My Lover, You Gotta Get with My Friends!

Spice Girls?

You got it!

That’s the title of an Author’s Choice post that gets into how B may feel about the other romance routes. I don’t think it’s been mentioned on here; how they react at the townline can give some indication as to whom they may ship or like the MC to be with, assuming B isn’t their chosen RO for TFS. Within the post on Patreon, I take each route and share some of the reasons why I wrote what I did along with giving hints, etc.

Using the Spice Girls song seemed fitting since the ‘bestie’ may want to approve of the MC’s choice. :mag_right:

Plus, the lyrics are very catchy; I’ve heard it before on TV, but I had to look up where it was from.

You know, I had that damn Spice Girls song stuck in my head all damn day…

Right?

So I think you owe me! Lol how about answering a question I asked before the damn game came out and nobody answered it!

What is the difference between Flustreded and SHY? Is the MC Flirting when you pick that??? well not flirting but…you know, does the game like flag you as interested in B for example, since that’s where you can pick that option. And later, with J?

It has a really good hook. :musical_note: (Also, same!)

Shy and flustered are pretty interchangeable with how I use them in TFS as a way to signal your MC behaves more shy, possibly less forward, during some romantic interactions. I’m realistically building the stat/mannerism up in this first Book that spans about six days. There will be more chances to increase it in Book Two and even scenes where you can act outside of your MC’s norm. (Like, a shy MC deciding to take more initiative to be bold, etc.)

Yeah, the game does keep track of how you interact with the ROs to better tailor scenes.

Not sure if you’ve tried playing shy while romancing R, but a good example of this comes in Chapter 4 when they arrive at the cabin since the exchange can be different based on how the game tracks your MC’s past actions (i.e flirty, shy, or being in denial while on R’s route.)

but that doesn’t answer my question: Does it lock you or flag you as say INTERESTED IN B?

I don’t wanna hurt their feelings XD

Just please please please tell me that the more forward/direct MCs won’t be punished and locked out of the softer, sweeter, or, even better, the scenes where the RO behaves more… dominant and in control, where they make a move.

That seems to be the norm for most games, where it’s assume forward-behaving MCs don’t need to actually hear their LI cares about them and never gets to let their LI take control of things. The ones who stutter and constantly blush always get better scenes, especially in certain games.

So…didn’t someone mention how Ms.V use magic to turn off the candles?

“She is my biggest one.” Ruby extinguishes her lit candle with a sharp flick of her wrist,

Is it like Salem Town now? or is the candle Magical?

different scenes. Not better, just different. You liking scene B better than A and c doesn’t make them better…

That’s sweet of you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: B would appreciate that with how they tend to be more sensitive in relation to the MC than let’s say a random person. It’s because they care about them.

A single choice where you’re flustered or flirty with an RO won’t flag or lock into things, so please don’t worry about that or B getting the wrong impression from a single remark. The triggered scenes are usually based on direct choices (e.g. You pick to go into the woods with J) or accumulated points/stats (e.g. you’ve expressed interest in R at least 3 times in the past and are flirty/shy/denial-ridden, so it triggers, etc.) While your choosing to be shy/flirty does indicate some interest, I designed the scenes so it should be some sustained, purposeful interest. There are also a lot of choice options beyond those two like being playful, reluctant, soft and sweet, etc.

It’s more important which RO route you’re consistent with. So, if you’re deadset on R, you’d be lighting their candle, going to the wood with them, dreaming of them, etc. It doesn’t matter if you flustered B once in comparison. Hopefully that answers things. It’s been a long day for me here, so I’m going to log off for now.

I’ll check back tomorrow! Much love to you and the kitties, of course. :cat:

Oh, absolutely not.

How your MC chooses to engage should not impact the quality of emotion present within the scenes only how they may play out or the vibe. There shouldn’t be a ‘better way’. For instance, I’m quite confident if you play R’s path shy, flirty, or denial-ridden that their care/interest in the MC shines through in the scene variations. I keep this in mind while writing; I want all of the overlays/dynamics to be equally valid/engaging.

Okie dokie, ttyl. <3

Better is subjective. And, in my experience, the stuttery ones get better scenes. I think authors like to make them feel better and figure the forward ones don’t need mush or a LI that will take over. :sob:

Night Luna! Sweet Dreams!

well…you kinda jump in bed so fast…when is the author supposed to write the Mushy stuff? between tossing the bra and the zipper going down? How long that take again?

It can be done. And would be much appreciated!

There is one choice outcome that can give a previously unromanced B romantic impressions about you, in Chapter 11. However it is extremely unlikely that you will stumble onto this possible outcome by chance—most likely, you will attempt to get it.

who? me? I’m chasing my heartthrob Ruby and Jane!

Also, doesn’t B hit on you from the get go?

I mean that line during the cc, and she say ‘You know you look good’ and I’m like ‘Really? you noticed? Awwwwww’ Ego +10000

So, crazy Theory time!

What if Sofia’s Mom is part of the Evil cult too? like Ms.V has the board and they are bad. Then there is the other group, Marjorie and Sofia’s Mom. Hm?

I mean, how can you explain her phone is a macabre sound?

And I quote: It sounds like a bird is gradually being electrocuted.

That’s just how old tech sounds. Remember dial-up connections, Spectrum loading sounds, and needle-printers?

Are you saying I’m old? Also…I did say CRAZY! why everytime I say Crazy…peoples come with Logic. How does that compute? :stuck_out_tongue:

Dunno. Do YOU make a sound like a bird gradually being electrocuted? :stuck_out_tongue:

Amazingly well, actually.

I can make this sound when I laugh. Maybe Silas’s mom just recorded her son’s laughter and made it her ringtone.
