I want you to write the story you want, as you see it. I know that doesn’t sound helpful, but you’re the one telling the story; it has to be you that you make happy first.

I know, I wasn’t planning on changing the story or anything like that, just maybe adjust how I’m telling it depending on the feedback. Its just that since this is my first time writing an IF, I’m still figuring out the best way to structure things. So I wanted to get a sense of whether this is something you all are enjoying, or if you’d prefer to see a bit less of it.

Can’t it be both? Scenes that flesh out the ROs personality and at the same time advance their relationship?

There will definitely be scenes like that too, of course! What I meant was, take a situation where you’re besieging a city, for example, and you’re stuck there for a few days.
My question is whether you’d prefer to have optional interactions during that downtime, conversations at the siege camp that don’t change the plot but add more flavor and character development, or if you’d rather I do a quick timeskip and move the story along.
The same goes for travel scenes and other slower moments. I know it depends on the context and where the story is at, but in general, I’d like to know if you all enjoy filling those quiet gaps with more interactions, or if you’d prefer to not waste time and just keep things moving.

It would be good if it does have somewhat of an impact in the relationship, like scenes and dialogues that would indicate that the mc already knows about the RO’s personality, like fav dishes or how they hate crowds etc. Tiny bits and pieces in dialogues or scenes that would indicate you read the optional scenes with your RO would make the story feel more organic.
Also What do you mean siege camps?!? No city will be besieged because none can stand the might of Azgor!!! They will either surrender or BURNN!!!

Oh yeah, little moments like that will definitely pop up from time to time, I enjoy adding them.
Well, who knows… there might be a city out there worth sparing, even if its current leaders are too dumb to surrender…

For me it depends on who is around the MC during those events if characters that are a pretty big part of the plot are around then I definitely want to check in with them from time to time
If they’re less relevant to the plot even if they are a RO I might not want to talk to them very single time

Reminds me of that time Edward I built the biggest trebuchet known to man, called it “Warwolf”, and used it to besiege Stirling Castle. And the castle immediately surrendered as soon as they finished assembling it, but Eddy refused because they spent ages assembling the blasted thing and he REALLY wanted to use it.

Kind of! It’s not fully implemented yet, but it’s the first poly romance I’m working on. There’s a scene that hints at it back at the camp after Zatus’ speech, and another one during the desert travel where the poly relationship can be set up. I’m planning to develop it more in the next update, along with properly starting the romance routes for Walls and Ruby.

Oh, I love Sabaton! I hadn’t heard those two songs before, but they’re great! I often write while listening to their music, the Carolus Rex song served as a bit of inspiration for one of the characters. Also Indestructible by Disturbed was one I associated a lot with the MC, specially from the start of the story. I’d usually have it on loop in the background while writing the fight scenes, lol.

After finally getting through my reading slump I managed to read this after strong recommendation from @comradelenin ! I can’t believe I didn’t play this sooner!
I really liked my Warden. And Zatus!! He’s so sweet!! Actually, I liked everyone except Vadis, but especially Zatus and my girl Khena. I played the broken path, and I was immediately sucked into the narrative and my character who’s a broken shell who just desperately wants to belong somewhere. I had some gripes, namely how sometimes I couldn’t spend time with people all the people I wanted to. 
Still, I really really like the story and can’t wait for more!

Thank you! I’m really glad you liked it! I tried to strike a balance with giving enough freedom in the interactions without leaving it completely open, to try showing that time is passing with each moment. But It’s kind of tricky to get that balance right, lol. If there’s anything you think could be improved, don’t hesitate to tell me, I’ll do what I can to fix it!

Of course! Its a really good story! Apart from Zatus romantic ship scene feeling a bit too short compared to the rest, it’s basically just me being greedy and unable to choose
Edit: by too short, I mean I initially assumed it spanned about ten minutes from when I approached him to the letter being burned. Adding that we spent an hour chatting would help make it feel equal to the rest

Yeah, I went back and reread it, and you’re right, I could’ve expanded on it more. It feels a bit shallow, its a bit too linear too, with very little variation. I’ll see if I can rework it a bit for the next update. Maybe add options to ask more about his family, his life back in Grafast, or something like that.
