I’m not entirely sure when I got into it. But I had one of those “all Sherlock Holmes stories” books when I was… hmm. maybe 12-13. I was very into classical English literature at the time, and that was one of them. I remember really liking the prose, and the concept of it all. I think that, in combination with seeing quite a few adaptations over the years made me really enjoy the extended and original canon of Sherlock Holmes

I picked it because it seems kinda like depression to me, and I thought that would be interesting. But I don’t have depression, so who knows if it’s actually comparable. I also like self-inserting as much as I can before it stops making sense for the story. And I’ve never had any of these “vices” so I wanted one of the least “out there” options, and inaction was one of those

It really is (at least sometimes)… But since I don’t like to identify with my MCs and giving them traits that I have, all the other options seem more interesting to me. I can’t wait to see how they affect MC and how they can fight them.

I’m a teetotaller but if some game has the option that MC can be addicted to alcohol, I have no problem with choosing it. That kind of reader I am xd

I chose risk taking for one MC as she liked the danger and suspense of solving mysteries and tries to get that feeling by taking risks. She’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie although you wouldn’t know it if you looked at her.
I chose experiments for my other MC as he is very logic-minded, very curious and willing to take risks in the name of science. He’s determined to be the smartest person in the room.

I hope theres more room for Risk to be something Sherlock can do solo. Bareknuckle brawls with Watson is kinda hurtful.
…but also I crave the drama of nearly dying and loved ones both being angry and incredbly relieved youre safe.
The “Damn you for being stupid” kiss in particular.

Trying to emulate ACD’s Sherlock as much as possible, I chose “legal medicine”- but I was a little torn between that and smoking considering that’s also a big one.

Inaction is the most fitting to me, with risk taking being a close second.
It just make sense to me that a genius mind who stop being stimulate just kinda rots away / an engine without fuel just peters out.

I considered inaction, but ended up with berating because, I dunno, I liked that mental image better, although either one would have worked for the kind of Sherlock I had in mind. (I guess I just… wanted something more active in the end.)

I’m going to start calling it Chapter 5, part 1, though, because it’s not very long (19k), and I think it will make more sense together with (the formerly ch6 now) Chapter 5, part 2, as both are about preparing for the ball.
(So the ball will now be ch 6!)

Progress update
It’s… been a while since I’ve done one of these. Not because I didn’t progress, mind you; it’s just the updates were me just dropping content without much forewarning, I suppose… 
ANYWAY—
I’ll be dropping Ch5 (part 1) for public release on the tenth of November!
Keep in mind that chapters 5 and 6 are now smushed together, so now this is technically chapter 5 (part one), and chapter 6 is chapter 5 (part two) and the ball will be called chapter 6!
Other than that, I’ll just keep working on ch 5 (part two) and the ball this month Also, some Patreon stuff, maybe a little on the short vamp story, and I have been feeling the itch to paint again
Ps. I wrote a charming little Adler scene for the ball so they have been officially been born within the game/my brain! I’m excited!
