Surprised no one went for bird, assumed someone would want to play a Roc.
I definitely looked up what roc is now and I wish the bird had won (although playing with a bakeneko wouldn’t be bad at all)
Or a Phoenix or the classic Ice Phoenix you see often in Wuxia series.
I tried using that AI generator you recommended to Kitty and I keep trying to make a black, furry beastwoman of the smilodon type but it keeps coming out wrong, though some of the anime arts I used looked interesting. Do you have any advice on how to get a more accurate or closer image that I’m looking for?
Will there another starting species vote ? Or will the species that came In second and third place be added in next after arachnids in future updates ?
I feel like it would make sense (in a general sense) to have one starting species of each base type and if someone want to get to a specific type of species, if they’re in the same category as the starting species (like Feline and Canine for example) then they can pick those.
Species in general I can think of are-
Reptile
Feline
Canine
Avian
Bovine
Insectoid (kinda thought arachnid would be in this too but for some reason it’s not)
Equine
Elephant types (idk the species/animal type name)
Marsupial
and finally, whatever the Honey Badger and Wolverine are in if some players wanted to go for a whole “Killing Bites” anime feel.
Obviously I wouldn’t recommend @Beastup to do this yet unless they either have a big or big enough team or until the game is completed and released and these could maybe come later as a free update or dlc.
Now that I think about it, if @Beastup decides to add dinosaur evolution forms, they could put them in both the Reptile and Avian category for the preference of whether the players want scales or feathers/furs.
Hope OP keeps the number of choices small, dont want to risk burnout. I made that mistake with Witchs Familiar and I still cant look at the damn thing without wanting to cut most of the options.
there will be at least 2 evolutionary paths (humanoid and monster) even if we ignore the different abilities of each animal, just writing the appearance of so many animals would be extremely difficult (I think the author already said that there would be 3 or 4 initial species so we will probably only have more one or two)
I want to be a magikarp, so i can evolve into a gyarados
Yeah I hope they keep the number of starting species small too like around 3 or 4. So they don’t get burned out with all the different branches and coding the those species.
The 0% for bird is painful…
Same , having the bird option would eventually lead to us transforming into a Phoenix.
Will we be able to evolve into monstrous or fantastical creatures? For example, orcs, and ents, or even perhaps xenomorph style critters? How about manticores, leviathans, or even Tiamat style dragons?
Would Hyenas be a canine or a feline species?
Also no rat option? Too bad.
The poll is formatted in a bit of a weird way honestly since all the options outside Spider are kinda of broad, a feline can be anything from a cat to a tiger and a canine can be anything from fox to a Tasmanian devil.
Neither but they’re closer to felines than canines, if I’m not mistaken.
Too bad then because it would have been fun to play as a Hyena, I’ve seen wolves and cats in that kind of stories but never Hyenas.
Which is a shame because you’d have easy excuse for cool paths like one based on scavenging giant creature’s bones to have a kind of bone armor for a special evolution because Hyenas are mostly scavengers instead of hunters.
Tasmanian Devils aren’t canine. They’re marsupials which is the same family that anteaters are in.
They’re unambiguously cats, as far as I recall, just have developed to fill a canine niche and as such are superficially very similar, being social pack hunters with an obviously unusual build (unusual for anything really, with how large and developed their front half is leading to a funky hunch). They still have big cat teeth, even more robust than normal, which they use to eat bone (I think the only animal to straight up monch bone, as opposed to just cracking for the marrow). Cat hardware dog software, as I’ve seen said. Contrast with foxes, who are like dog hardware cat software.
I looked it up and Hyenas aren’t cats (Felines), they are their own thing, the Hyaenidae but they ARE feliform so they are closer to cats than to dogs but calling them cats would be like calling a bear ‘a dog’.
