I am a new reader for the COG and Hosted Games genre, and till now Creme De La Creme and the Wayhaven Chronicles are my two favourite books. I truly can’t get enough of your story! And Rosario and Freddie!!! Those two are the best sweethearts one could ever hope for! Wow, just Wow! A quick question though. Considering that our MC from the previous book got engaged to be married with Rosario in the near future, the future being this book under development, will ever get to interact with them? Or, if that is asking too much, will we at least get a few mentions about them? Also, will we also be able to choose other significant choices, as to whether Lady R(I can’t remember the spelling sorry!) was removed from her office, or whether Hartmann went to Gessner instead of staying at Gallatin?
Welcome to the forums and I’m so glad that you enjoyed Crème de la Crème so much, that’s so lovely! I can confirm that some Crème MCs will have screentime, in particular ones who got engaged to Rosario or who are teaching at Archambault or Gallatin. I haven’t reached a point where the Royal Affairs MC would have direct interactions with them so I can’t say for sure, but my instinct is that they will interact directly if they are together with Rosario and maybe in other scenarios.
At the beginning of Royal Affairs, as well as telling the game the plot outcomes of Crème, you can set what sort of personality the Crème MC has so that hopefully they will feel true to their personality as you played them. You can choose various things like what happened to Lady Renaldt and Gallatin, and some things about where characters like Hartmann and Karson ended up. I’m hoping to be able to cover everything that’s relevant!
Edit: I’ve added the exact details of what elements currently get carried over from Creme de la Creme to Royal Affairs to the first post of this thread. If any important plot elements come to mind to anyone and you think referencing them would be fun in Royal Affairs, please do let me know! For example, after writing up the list, I’m wondering whether it would be a good idea to state whether any of the adult Gallatin teachers are romancing each other, as their descriptions may change slightly depending on their relationships. (Assume that if characters end up getting mentioned in Royal Affairs, I’ll add their pronoun information to the questionnaire.)
Progress report: November 2020
Where I’m at overall: I’m partway through Chapter 3, and am at 69,000 words. Intriguingly, my last update said 73K, so I must have counted a chapter twice or some shenanigans…
What I’ve done: Worked on Chapter 3.
What’s next: More Chapter 3 writing and getting started on the outline for Chapter 4! I’m just in the middle of some emotional character-focused scenes with your friends/love interests, and then we’ve got fun and frolics at a dance coming up.

Firstly, I did have an awkward gender moment, after picking the choice about that says “Can you imagine Javi and I engaged, what a joke?” or something (sorry, I forgot to take a screenshot), but Dominque calls Javi a “her” when my Javi is male.
There’s an extra bracket.
I’m guessing “alone” is not supposed to get repeated like that.
Okay, so I peaked inside the code (because I was curious about the wording), and this is the part:
Dominique smiles, but doesn’t look entirely convinced. “Well, yes, maybe,” ${dominique_he} @{dominique_singular says|say}, "but I don’t want to be mean about ${dominique_him}, it’ll only get back to ${dominique_him}.
I think you’re referring to Javi? Or am I misinterpreting that?
Also, another gender change later:
Javi takes the envelope from Dominique’s hands and smiles. “That’s Rosario’s handwriting,” ${javi_he} @{javi_singular says|say}. “I wonder what ${javi_he}@{javi_singular 's|'re} up to?”
I assume that’s supposed to be Rosario.
Then “holds” the door open?
Also the angst with the Asher route is just chef’s kiss and we’re only on chapter two. I’m so excited to see how everything plays out and so torn between him and Javi, why does this have to be so hard?
The MC is offered and takes a card despite earlier saying they have no interest in doing so.
Also, my MC told Pascal they want a hot air ballon in Chapter 1, and then made the Student Council use hot air ballons in Chapter 2. It would be neat if this fixation was referenced at some point.

@justme thank you for noticing that! That segment has been weirdly fiddly to debug. I love the idea of an MC who’s just obsessed with hot air balloons

Found when you’re fighting javi and you’re about to win so you can decide whether you can let her win, walk away, or finish her. The game freezes forcing me to restart
I assume that this is where the demo ends right now: “2-class line 1119: Non-existent variable ‘gallatin_gossip’”. Or else I’m getting a bug here.
Oop! That’s what I get for rushing the bugfix update. Clearly I was distracted writing Asher romance scenes this evening. @idonotlikeusernames that is a bug! Thank you both! I’ll look into that now.

the save slots are broken
I’m sorry to hear that - it may be because of changes made to the files since the saves were made? I’m not familiar with how the plugin works - I followed the instructions when uploading on Dashingdon but that’s the limit of my knowledge. I will do some investigating next time I update.

I’ve been very sleep-deprived over the last few days and just realised that I accidentally uploaded more of Chapter 2 than I intended! I’ve put up the correct file now (I think? I hope??).
