Quiver: a Robin Hood legend. Official Topic and first draft of Chapter Four complete! [160,714 words currently]

I think the choice to talk to the bard in the camp scene of chapter 2 is bugged. I keep getting the screen of endless loading whenever I try to select it. Might just be a me issue though.

Is it one choice or all choices in that chat?

Just that one choice, I’ve tried doing it first, last, and in the middle but I can’t get past it for whatever reason.

Edit: I got past it now, must just be my potato of a laptop

I can’t seem to select any raid for chpt 4. More infinite loading screen, if this is also a me issue I might actually need to switch laptops finally.

It does sound like a computer issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

awe Is William no longer an option? is there a tumblr to follow or pinterest?

William will be coming back in Chapter 5 as will the other “friend” characters.

I do not have a Tumblr or Pinterest sorry. There is a discord but that is mostly about UnNatural although there is a channel for Quiver now.

Cannot progress any further during chapter 4 when selecting which crests you need to pick in order to preform a heist on them. It is stuck on an infinite loading screen during this point no matter what option you choose.

I’ll look into that.

oh so it’s not just me, I thought I was insane

Yeah, I’ll have to double-check the code to see if something is causing an internal loop.

EDIT: I’ve managed to replicate the looping behaviour, and I believe I know which code is causing it. I’m going to try to get this fixed ASAP.

EDIT 2: I’ve managed to get the loop fixed. So it should work now.

Tonight I’ve been working on a scene where Robin is fighting a bandit. During a choice to disarm the bandit I ended having a funny idea where if your luck is 0 your attempt to disarm him ends up with you taking his hand off.

When first in prison, even after selecting the yeoman beginning, I end up telling Luke that I’m the son of a noble who was branded a traitor. When Luke is describing the other prisoners and how the friar knocked a dude on his ass, I refer to him as my mentor. So it’s showing all backgrounds indiscriminately I think. Is that specific enough to help?

Edit: actually, it seems to give preference to the noble background, referring to me as one when fighting with Tuck, but just before that it made me sound familiar with him as if I were an acolyte. So it might be taking preference, giving Noble the most weight and Yeoman none.

Yeah, that helps. I’ll look into that today. Thank you.

Edit:

Okay, here are the scenes you mentioned. I did try and alter these to prevent the origins getting mixed up when you last reported them. Have you played the game since?

"Can I give you a bit of advice? Keep that to yourself," ${cellmate} tells you. "It doesn't make any difference to me, some of the other inmates would love to get their hands on a noble, even the ${son} of one."

"I saw the friar when you were brought in, he seemed worried about you," ${cellmate} reveals. "He's been visiting every day to check up on you. I guess the guards felt guilty because of you not regaining consciousness."

The guard throws a punch, which you can only just avoid. You kick him in the shin, and he howls in pain moments before a blow to the chin silences him, and he collapses.

Edit 2: I’ve updated the code again and when I tried it the scenes showed my yeoman background. Can you try playing the game again please?

The yeoman bit when first meeting Luke is correct now and when he talked about the friar it didn’t indicate familiarity. When introducing myself to the viking I correctly told him the yeoman background. It was also correctly when jumping in to save Tuck. When given duties, I was no longer given the option of scribing, which I assume requires the other backgrounds and is correct. The fourth night of freedom, staying in the tavern, it had allowed me to be worried about my father but no longer does, so I assume that’s for other backgrounds.
