Ayy no. You’ve struck an open wound. I dropped Such Happy Campers (indefinitely, for now) and am currently solely working on Press Play
Something about Stevie hits just right for me I love her so much.
Is romance necessary in this game? I don’t think any of the Ros interest me…
I don’t think romance playing a significant role in this story but I’m maybe wrong. I also don’t have any interest for the RO’s here but I intrigued by the premise so I’m here to stay.
Ofc not, dw. Side note: I have never seen an IF where romance wasn’t optional. It’d be rly weird to force it on a reader imo
That’s great! Unfortunately there are games such games. I loved one wip because of the story (like yours) but I was forced to choose RO and it was fucking frustrating.
I wasn’t sure because in the description was: “Romance your coolgirl-bassist, the childhood friend you cut out of your life, your absolutely insane guitarist, your biggest fan/possibly stalker or all of them”
Ahh yeah don’t mind the description, it’s optional. I only chose that wording bc all descriptions in hosted games kinda look/read like that. Maybe it’d be better if I added a little “or none” at the end there.
From what I see from tumblr this story is more about mental health and as someone who also deal with it and comes from a country which doesn’t really support mental health since it is a taboo topic, I’d like too see how it dealt by a different perspective. Because maybe it can help me to cope with mine.
First off, really sorry to hear about that. Those are shitty circumstances. Where I live, it’s much easier to receive care for mental health, and while there’s still a greater stigma surrounding it, society has in large parts accepted it. So I realize my own perspective may be more privileged. I feel the need to say: the story is indeed in big parts about mental health and mental illness, that’s true, but I wouldn’t count on it helping anyone cope. Maybe it’s a cathartic experience (writing it is, to me, but I don’t know about reading and everyone’s different) and I hope it is, but please don’t expect too much bc I don’t want to disappoint anyone. This is just a thing written by someone who’s struggled with their mental health for a long time and is still finding ways to learn and heal despite the worst of the storm (hopefully) having passed. I hope this makes sense <3
Eh don’t worry about it, I just love to see it from a different perspective eventhough it probably can’t help me out but at least I can read a fantastic story from you and that’s enough for me tho.
Oh I’m so glad to hear that, takes the pressure off and thank you for the compliment, I really really hope you enjoy <3
Does the parent choice affect the cause of anything hospitalization related? I’m only asking because with the single mom there’s a bit of dialogue in the car that isn’t with the rich neglectful ones.
No the cause remains vague but that’s moreso bc I didn’t want to say “oh, MC’s depression/social phobia comes from precisely this and that” bc let’s be real, there’s hardly ever one specific trigger that causes mental instabilities.
The parent routes just have inherently different features and dialogues
Ahhhh I finally tried all the parent routes, and… argh. I love the single mom, but at the same time I want to rescue the middle-class siblings.
Hahaha someone in my asks on Tumblr recently said the exact same thing!! So glad you like Linda and El
The part of that i qurstion is if you go through the demo as is and pick the choices where the character isn’t experiencing social phobia and appears to be coping relatively well hospitalization makes little sense. It would make more sense if they drank abd smoked too much and lived the rockstar lifestyle but some choices don’t really scream mental breakdown.
The hospitalization happens seven years before that, when MC is a teenager (as stated in the description ;))
Edit: by “that”, I mean the current age you’re playing in the demo basically
Ahh a flashback.
Careful now… A flashback in a flashback is a very dangerous thing. Just look at Inception
I uhh… never watched that movie So if this is a reference, I’m too uncultured to understand haha
