Pinning WIP threads for HG games due to be submitted soon

Unusual request, but currently, when a CoG/HC title reaches the beta testing stage, the forum will display a pinned post for the game to recruit beta testers.

I would like to ask, can a similar benefit be extended to HG?

I have seen some HG titles slipping under the radar and not getting a lot of engagement when they were content complete and going through the >1 month mandatory beta testing stage before submission. I think they might have gotten more engagement if forum users could be made aware that these games are complete and due to be submitted soon.

I am suggesting a system where, if a prospective HG author has finished a game, they can request that their WIP thread be pinned for a month, on the condition that they submit it right after. (Unless they need an extension.) This might help to get better feedback for games which will eventually wind up on the storefronts. Thoughts?

That sounds like a good idea; more feedback on HG can only really be a good thing.

We don’t manage HG betas, so I don’t want to take responsibility for doing this proactively. However, if an author is ready for their official beta and requests it, I’m happy to do it.
