Did a lot of things differently this time, tried a resistant MC this time, didn’t get my mark purified, got attacked in the RV cuz of that, etc.
I think I got an error- the game insists I have unread messages after waking up on the RV, but yet it doesn’t show anything. Also, I chose the default notification tone, but it plays marimba music? Idk if this is purposeful or not.

Wut. Is that from some modern version? Merlin is usually childless in classic lore and in the rare one-off stories where he has a kid, it’s a daughter (Inogen or nameless).
I haven’t started collating the newest data yet, but in the older versions, there were a couple people running around with Magic in the 23-24 region. Mid Twenties is probably as high as you can get right now.
Are you sure it was playing marimba music and not the default ringtone which sounds kind of marimba-ish? (Click the links for the direct samples of the ringtones that should be playing)
Otherwise, if you mean that no new messages showed up for you in the Phone Menu section after waking up from the Camelot dream, then that would require the failure of 10+ variables for no conceivable reason I can see within the code. (If you already replied to the old text messages, then that means only Merlin’s Guide is showing up in there, right?)
Please reload that save file and check the Status menu to make sure that your MC’s stats haven’t returned to the default ??? (which indicates the save file has corrupted). Then clear your cache and reload the page from before the MC wakes up in the RV and see if the text messages will show up then.
And that’s completely bizarre since there’s no knife emoji in the main game. Could you try the same thing that I mentioned above?
Check the Status Menu to make sure your stats haven’t reset to default (if they have, that particular save is a wash) and then clear your cache, reload the page, and make the same decisions as before and see if you can get through the scene without the error message this time.

Weird, could’ve sworn I saw/read something about kids/successors for Arthur and Merlin. Can’t find it now though, just Jack the Giant Killer.

I cleared the cache and all that, I think I found out what triggers the error message I got.
When you receive the big ass arthurian lore dump on your phone from Merlin, when checking out the minor enemies, and then choosing to reply to Merlin.
“How many stalkers does Arthur have here already?!?!”
And from there reply “I see what I must do now to properly romance the king. ”
This will now make it impossible to go further than trying to change your clothes.

Hmm… if it’s from Merlin’s Guide then maybe you meant Tom Thumb? He’s not Merlin’s kid, but his entry mentioned how Merlin helped to conceive him. There are also a bunch of entries mentioning rumors about Arthur’s supposed bastard kids too.
Dangit, I still can’t trigger this error. I went ahead and changed the name of the variable for the part you indicated on the Public Beta version of the game.
Try clearing your cache and refreshing the page (to make sure your browser will use the new file I just uploaded) and then try loading a save from before you looked at Merlin’s Guide (and then repeat the steps again that led to the original error).
LMK if that fixed it or not. If it fixed it, I’ll push a bugfix out to the other versions of the game too. Thanks!
