Holy smokes, just got to the bit where you systematically murder everyone three out of five involved in a certain traffic accident, it’s just brilliant.

1 out of 3 chances that you can get the little girl instead of… something else… if you should choose to stay in the motorhome. ![]()

Yeah, the serial killer secret ended up being pretty popular. It and the even more popular changeling background express the duality of the secrets. Did nothing wrong versus did a whole lot wrong.
Serial killer supremacy! Can’t wait to commit more murders.
Anyone who needs some amusement should try the killer route, for when it comes time to take things from your apartment you can surprise your pal with your gun, your machine gun, and your collection of ALL the knives.
Wait how do you get so many guns?
Criminal hobby for the machine gun, detective or security guard job for the Glock.
Wait There’s criminal hobby? I probably miss it but how do you get criminal hobby for the machine gun?
Choose to check the dark web when the option comes up.
Thanks. Last question. How do you unlock/do the
Achievement/feats of Unbeatable, Unbreakable and No Rescue Needed.
Unbeatable, Unbreakable is achieved by hitting Lancelot
Summary
As far as I know the only way to get that is to use lucid dreaming.
No Rescue Needed I have no idea.
To get no rescued needed you need to escape the bed monster without Merlin’s help. Don’t quote me on this since I haven’t checked the code exactly, but I believe you need high physical stat or agility talent in order to pass the check (catapult to chair), and maybe you also need low fear level as well as relatively okay health? Because I remembered instances where my MC failed with “fear crippled them” or “body finally couldn’t take it anymore”. Maybe luck talent can help if all else failed, I’m not exactly sure. The author does have a guide/tip for that somewhere hidden in this forum or tumblr.
Here’s the link to the No Rescue Needed guide. Just scroll down to the end of the comment.
I decided to replay the game, and there’s something that’s bothered me that I don’t think I’ve mentioned. And I’m curious about what everyone else thinks:
I don’t like the secrets. I don’t dislike the character having a secret, but I don’t like how… big the options are. I can be a serial killer, an imposter, a fake amnesiac (which is way crazier than I thought it’d be), or literally not a human. I usually pick not human, but that’s because it’s somehow the least crazy option. But to be honest, I would rather just not pick one. Or at least have a more normal secret. Especially since the character already has a secret addiction
Personally i like them, with each of them being so extreme and having such an impact over your character it makes each playthrough feel unique, i didn’t even know you could be a serial killer because of my phobia option lol, maybe it can be annoying if you’re into rping an average joe but oh well, more fake identities and crazy ass backstories for the rest of us
It’s curious and funny to think that in a way, because of the secrets, the MC is a big red flag for the ROs (well, at least for now, as we still don’t know much about the ROs :p)
The RO’s themselves are gonna be big red flags too!
I mean, there’s our bespeckled friend who knows a weeee bit to much about us than he should if we aren’t friendly with him. His reaction to us packing a certain set of items if we pick the serial killer option is kind of sus ![]()
Speaking of Adrian, I have a crack theory kind of inspired by Assassin’s Creed. Now I typed up multiple paragraphs to support this theory but it started to come off like the ramblings of a madwoman so I’m just going to keep this short. (Edit: So that was a lie…)
Adrian belongs to a group similar to the Assassins/Templars! That explains how suspiciously knowledgeable he is about this whole thing, especially if this group dates back to King Arthur’s time or predates it even.
He could have used this mysterious groups resources to track down a Harbinger (MC) and gather info and keep tabs on us. I highly doubt two Harbingers just randomly happened upon each other; this dude was trying to find us and then befriend us for whatever task his group set him upon.
AND even if your pc is wary of him he STILL knows more than he should about us! Where we live can be explained by him just following us, but our favorite drink and brand? That too could be explained if we bring a bottle or carton with us everywhere, but the fact that he doesn’t at all seem surprised about a serial killer mc’s little side hobby and more about how many knives we have collected?? Either that or he’s been in our apartment and found some of our knives, BUT NOT ALL OF THEM!!
I just really doubt that this dude is your run of the mill creeper and so this rambling theory has spewed forth from my brain at…12:50 pm…Well a shortened version of it anyway, it was a lot longer before I edited it! But it could make soooo much sense!
No matter which side this group is on, it’s entirely reasonable to want to get your hands on a Harbinger or two! If two of the Harbinger’s rock up to the apocalypse with trust built up over a few years, well think of the possibilities…
Also I’m really sorry for calling you a creep Adrian, spirits know my one of my MC’s is one to complain about someone being a creep I’m on to you fake amnesia MC who’s most likely some sort of eldritch abomination-
But yeah, I think Adrian is a part of some sort of cult, the end~~
This is so interesting… hmmm… Adrian is certainly sus in so many different aspects. I have also played around with a couple theories in my mind. Adrian’s interlude is especially telling (telling what I have absolutely no idea, but telling). He obviously expected the apocalypse and the demons, and he has prepared for it for a long time.
In my cloudcuckoolander play through, Merlin comments that my MC can certainly be an innocent fool, while Adrian would not fit that criteria at all.
As someone else mentioned in this forum as well, Adrian apparently (spoiler from code-diving, don’t unblur it you don’t want to get tips from code-diving) ”poisoned” the drink they give you after the club meeting. Poison flag was set to true in the code if you accepted. Although I know author try to actively prevent code-divers from finding out the plot, so I feel that poison is not as harmful as its name suggests
Adrian’s words in the interlude suggest that he is deeply regretful for something. This time there will be more than just ash were the approximate words in his interlude. What has been turned to ash? Or been destroyed? As far as I know there’s only two situations pertinent: the fall of Camelot and the previous failed lesser circle. If we trust Merlin, then Merlin has confirmed all members of that circle (except themself) have died. Then it has to be the fall of Camelot. Given Adrian’s seemingly extensive knowledge about everything, it could be reasonable to hypothesize that Adrian already knew his past reincarnation as well as MC’s. And the reason for Adrian’s protectiveness toward MC lies in the relationship between their past lives. And follow the this line of logic, his regret of course stem from the fall of Camelot. He does have a particular fanboy way toward Arthur, suggesting he might be one of the close allies at the time.
Another theory that has been brewing in my mind is that Adrian has been a time traveler or something, or someone being reborn again and again after each failure/death. He did mentioned after lifetime and lifetime, the only thing left is regret. In that case “what have been turned to ash” maybe is the whole world. Hmmmmm…… or maybe that is a sign he remembered all his past reincarnations, and there are mutiple of them? Honestly I don’t know. I usually read choice of games without a brain attached, because I just want to relax. And now my CPU has burned out…
I love them. I really dislike the tendency in interactive fiction to make the MC the most boring character in the story. I understand that it makes it easier for people to self-insert, but, the thing is, I don’t do that. This means I’m often left wishing a side character had been the MC, instead of the Joe Random I’m forced to play as.
So it’s a real breath of fresh air to play as an MC who feels as fully-fleshed out and complicated as the rest of the cast. In this game, everybody’s hiding something, and the MC’s no different.
Oooooh, I like these two theories a lot! Definitely well thought out!
