What’s Your Strategy, Zero?
Is that a fucking Code Geass reference? If so, you’ve earned my uttermost respect.

Sigh… that mind control thingy really makes the mc feel powerless as hell man , worst part he doesn’t even know. Still i knew that facon will be a lifesaver someday and today is that day

I hot-sauced Nox and I feel SO so bad. Everyone hates me and my morals are non-existent. I have a lot of regrets but my Button is revelling in her win at least :frowning: Next time I’ll go just Operation Bubble Body and spare Nox’s eyesight

The update was really fun though! Lotta options to choose from that mostly made me question my morality and the flashback with that Alan kid…man, kids are scary.

There was a lot of build up for the assignment but when it actually came to it, it felt veeerryyyy quick. Understandable when I’ve lost, but even when I’ve won it feels very wham bam hot sauce damn. I would’ve liked more of a verbal reaction from ur other classmates (not really in the sauce route tho, since that silence said everything…haha) cause then the plot immediately jumps into the next thing without much time to mull it over. Honestly as I’m writing this now I’m thinking actually that it’s not a big deal since it’s realistic if anything but I’m just gonna keep it here as my initial reaction.

Other small thoughts: I would do anything for Sally I love her :point_right::point_left: Also love that Button is the most interesting character in the game (so far!! subject to change bc everyone is Interesting)

Typo Type Stuff

Here Sally repeats that she’s nervous twice. And also insults my lunchbox.

Hey, I’m been having some ideas on the backstory related to the parents, the strenuous relationship between the MC and the parents may stem from the father claiming that his wife cheated on him and the MC is not his son or something. It’s just my over-excited rambling and I don’t know how to hide text while writing so not writing more. Happy writing

Oh, wow, that’s an interesting take! What if Noh is the real father???

You’re completely right. There’s pretty much a missing scene that I skimped on, with the intention of eventually fluffing it out. Not the assignment part, which is over and done with fast no matter what, but how your class responds to your victory/loss.

There’s no good excuse. I just got . . . really bored writing about Sally exiting a small room  The one problem with IF is that you have to write sequentially due to variables, so I tend to skimp on scenes that I otherwise would’ve skipped and gone back to when inspiration strikes.

Thanks so much! I sometimes struggle to get invested with characters in games (all types), because they’re often less quirky than the leads you’d find in a regular novel. Which I get, but I wanted Button to have as much personality as the rest of the cast. That personality can vary, of course, but there’s a few unchangeable traits (their snark and smarts, for example).

(Also, thanks for pointing out my coding snafu and typo!)

It’s not often that going to the bathroom is a super important plot point. . . . Almost makes you wonder what really happened, since everyone knows that fictional characters never need to relieve themselves.

It’s not, but I crave respect so will claim that it is.

I think the uploading for the Kenna file has been messed up again? It doesn’t show up on my end.

Having dad’s suspicions actually be true during the unfolding of the story might be a bit dull and might picture the father as dumb because he could at any point of the MC’s childhood or infancy used a paternity test to check the truth which will further contribute to the mistrust in the marriage. But, what if he did actually take the test and it came back negative but he kept it secret due to some reason. Also, quick question, how do we do the spoiler thing to the text?

Wow! That was a great update :relaxed: I feel like I got closer to my best friend and got to know her much better now :slightly_smiling_face:. Though now I’m even more intrigued by what had happened to us in the past that caused so much trauma

First of all, how dare you leave on a cliffhanger. I was on the edge of my seat ready to learn how mother dearest broke Button’s trust.

But I digress. Not gonna lie, winning was much…easier than I expected? The first choice I picked and it felt very anticlimactic (which is perfect for that specific choice) but I felt it would be a bit longer or convoluted. Otherwise though, still a great update.

I especially love the loo scene, I was not expecting that at all. It very easy to see how, vulnerable Button truly is at any given moment. Now I’m keeping my eye on Valero though I seriously doubt she’s doing it on purpose, if at all.

Sally is also the perfect friend yet my Button is based off of my unfortunate self and as such, the friendship seems to border on codependency from the small scenes I’ve seen. Nonetheless, she is a sweetheart and Button will protect her at all cost even if she could defend herself better than them.

But also, out of everything they could of made Button do, Why the loo?

Where do we meet K?

And, one last thing before I forget.

Error?

Shouldn’t one of these be “2”?

Also, I had an idea of what going back to see the dogs could entail for the assignment, but I really didn’t expect it to hurt this much. Ouch, poor K, I can’t imagine Button having a long life after this.

Loved the update, didn’t expect to succeed in the assignment first try tbh haha.
Can’t wait for the next update to know what happened with Button’s mother.

Gotta help them dogs when the option appears for the first time.

You gotta start small. A field test, as it were. Once you’re confident then you can start with the good stuff.

You just made the right choice, I also passed it on my first go but any other choice ended in defeat. What choice did you pick, if you don’t mind?

It was a last minute test, a fairly simple one too. There wasn’t much room for epicness.

Yay, another one. What choice did you pick?

Great update @wildelight , it was really fun! I aced the test on my first try, which only fuels my canon of a genius tactician MC.

Aaaaah this update so much angst I’m in heaven! My poor poor Button is so miserable with his 80% morbidity :joy: I’m really excited to learn more about K and what their thought process is because they seem to genuinely not understand why my MC is upset with them but I’m living for them looking over all forlorn after my MC tells them off, guess they did like their commute buddy this morning(?) :eyes:

Everyone is talking about beating the test on the first try and I’m on attempt number 800 and still getting glared at by Kim  I’m having fun going through the numerous ways to fail, though. Operation bubble body is my personal favorite.

Also, there’s sort of a bug when you’re telling Sally why you’re upset if you make a save on that page and try to reload it, it’s not a big deal but it could perhaps be due to some other issue? This is the error I get:

error

“Error: chapter212 line 1511: invalid line; this line should have a scene name followed by an error message: #Bury my face in my hands, reluctant to reveal what happened.”

I don’t know anything about choicescript so apologies if this is nothing!

Suuuper excited for the next update this is definitely one of my favorite WiPs, I love the humor while also getting my heart ripped out by my poor miserable Button (sorry kid ) Anyway, I’m going to keep desperately trying to pass this damn assignment now :joy:

When was this because I don’t remember them looking sad?

There’s a line about them looking over and frowning which I may or may not be overthinking

One of the things that I love the most about this WIP is that it makes me FEEL. Every type of way. Seriously, while playing the new update my emotions range from indignance to hilarity to guilt to fear and much more. It was such a roller coaster; a roller coaster that abruptly stopped and hurled me through the seven seas after that cliff-hanger.

I might also have exploited antigone and cassandra purely for my success and I’M SORRY. It really made me feel very VERY guilty. God i feel like such an asshole after choosing that, but i want to win so badly and persuading glitch to throw the match is too quick and not really fun. I hope we can apologize and make it up to K soon, they didn’t deserve that despite their deceit

In conclusion, good wip, made me weep

I perfectly understand the logic of it, I would do the exact same thing. I’m just wondering if the mastermind is using it as symbolism restrooms are your private business…forcing Button to go is ironiclu symbolic in that sense.

I simply choose to not participate technically, as in lock the door and not allow K to enter. After all, avoiding confrontation is a specialty for my Button.

I’m now wondering how ruthless I can make Button be while acting like an angel.
