Thanks for taking the time to sign up and write that! It’s always cool to hear from new players enjoying the game
Of course! As an early modern historian with a special focus on the English Civil War and Restoration (and who should be currently writing her thesis, but here I am…), I’m really looking forward to delving into Hexfinder soon. The fantasy element seems super compelling, and I can’t wait to read it.
That’s really neat - if you get the time, I’ll be interested to read your comments on Hexfinder when the early chapters go up later this month.
Hi, I’m really loving the game so far, and I’ll write some feedback soon!^^
But I have an issue with the Stat screen in the CoG app, the 2nd group of stats below my talents have their labels misplaced
Is there any way I can fix this? I’m getting a pop up here and it says I cant upload embed media files, so I’m unable to post a screenshot of my issue here
Hm, without a screenshot it’s a little hard to diagnose what the issue might be there. I know the type of formatting error you mean, but I don’t exactly know what would be causing it.
Maybe send a bug report to support-mask@choiceofgames.com? You should be able to attach a screenshot that way!
Will do, thanks!
Also, is there a way to escape being condemned to death by invoking the one of the deities?
I just finished one of my best playthroughs (innoculation + mandrake root cure + Ioco romance) but MC ended up being condenmed to death, because I chose to lie to the Baron
You’d be pleased to know that I really love the story, so the tragedy of that really messed me up for a good minute
Don’t invoke the deity, it will lead to an end that you might not want.
In order for the Baron not kill you, you need 68 Favour and to have discovered the cure it the inoculation. If you keep antagonizing him, he will kill you.
The other way is to join the revolution led by the socialist old woman (forgot the name) and kill the army and the Baron.
Invoke the deity, It was the first ending I had and it is still my favorite
My favorite still joining the Royal Society
Sorry about that (but not totally sorry)
As @Urban said, you needed 68 Favor to pull it off. Must have been close though, creating a cure and finding the inoculation give pretty decent bonuses heading into that encounter.
Some of my favourite parts to write too! I would definitely suggest people give a Mysticism-heavy run a try, and get cosy with The Dweller. It’s fun times… ish.
@Urban aww so much for me calling him an obnoxious oaf
@G98 & @PParrish Haha thank guys, I’ll definitely try!
Edit: I figured it out! Sorry, I was playing until 5am haha
Mysticism and pious choices are my recommendation for a deity ending
Hello everyone. First off, I want to thank PParrish for writing this story. I have 4 or 5 CoG games so far and this is my favorite story! After taking a break I wanted to replay it for achievements. Thanks to this thread I’m only missing one. Anyone have hints for Last Stand? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all.
Always nice to hear - and thank you for playing it!
I think I can cover this…
First hint: Whatever method of cure you attempt in Chapter 12, it needs to outright fail. That puts you on the Last Stand path.
Second and more specific hint: Try to keep the relevant stat (whether that’s plague_cure or dweller_inf or a different one) at 52 or below.
Third hint, more of a light walkthrough really:
Summary
I think the most foolproof way to get this would be to ignore all the Dweller pathway stuff as much as possible, which should keep that Influence stat under 52. Then choose “Only one deity has the power to aid us now. I must invoke the Dweller.” when at the point of selecting a cure methodology.
That should get you on a collision course with Last Stand. When it comes time to say some final words (“Death to the Crown!”, “I did my duty.” etc) choose whichever one you like, they should all pop the achievement!
I think that’s all you need, but it’s possible I missed something (I had to remind myself how to get this one, and kind of reverse-engineer the method). Let me know if more help is required to achieve this noble failure of an ending
Thank you so much for the quick reply and all the detail! That was my last achievement and presumably the final ending I have not seen. I had a blast replaying this one. Thanks for sharing your work and helping players.
Looking forward to more of your work!
