I’m not honestly a big fan of being forced to make choices that I would never choose because some of those were locked out. For example, I wanted to hate Shiva and not have that change but now I was forced to change it to “confused feelings” because that hate option was locked out. This kind of stuff is starting to wear me down with this story

As someone who loves FFX as much (or more) than anyone, this game brings back so much nostalgia.
But since you teased some differences in the story I would like to know if you are going to include romances like most choice of games? Or are they all simply one off scenes like the dead end with Moanna?

First, I thought I would go the “classical” way and create many different ROs which would eventually be also “classical endings”.
Then, I decided to be “original”. And decided to go on my own, different way.
At the moment, I am creating a story where most “endings” eventually end up in a restart/new game plus.
How do you like the idea? Would you like to go the “classical” way? What would you suggest to do to provide a Buddhist/Hindu feeling to the game?

I’ve played through a number of times so far and still seem to have certain dialogue blocked.
Not sure how much of this is spoiler, but it seems like since we can play a different way to unlock options, so what if some more meaningful options literally had to be replayed to unblock? Like for example in order to romance a particular character or maybe prevent the scripted death of one? But you HAVE to have seen the event before in order to stop it?!?
A more extreme version of this would be if you died in certain parts you respawn as someone else? You could start as Kannon for example. I know as a writer with all the branching pathways that’s asking for quite a lot so I understand why you wouldn’t, but imagine the possibilities if each life you lived was as someone else? I think that leans toward the reincarnation theme more solidly, but again, sounds like a nightmare to code in a practical sense from what I understand. Lol. But maybe breaking up the cycle in a scene or two could make a difference?
Anyway, super impressive so far. And thank you, you have inspired me to replay FFX for the first time in… a year. Lol. I seriously love that game. And i wonder how far you’ll take the storyline before it veers into new territory.

The SECOND suggestion IMHO is the best. Too bad I would need a software house to implement it, otherwise my own life won’t be enough

That branch is one of the story’s “desirable” branches. That means I would LOVE to branch the storyline there, but that’s not one of the current priorities. So, I am very sad to tell you there is no way to unlock that branch now. In the future, it could become available if the stars align. A little spoiler: in chapter 18, you can do it.
