Somehow I was the impression he was a yokai… oh, maybe because you mentioned he was part of the magical community and my brain automatically associated that with there being magical beings in the city (aka yokais). But it seems you’re talking about something akin to a “Wizarding world” (Harry Potter) in ancient China…

In Ancient China people believed that a kind of cat spirit known as Jin Hua Mao preyed on ppl by changing into a human form of a gender the prey was attracted to. Istg I’m not making this up lmao, soooo we may see how that idea can be incorporated

yup, its sth like the wizarding world, except they’re a lot more public to the rest of the realm. Every five years or so they get tgt and scream “fite me!!!” to each other like irl twitter for the seat of Leader, and vehemently swear nvr to be swept into court politics, lol.
Buuut if MC plays their cards right they can get their (temporary) support near endgame.

Yikes, my laptop is undergoing a long update - guess this is what happens when you delay them for too long 
so this week’s update may be pushed back a few days.
On the brighter side(?) I hope to hit 40k words by today! That’ll make a personal record for the longest body of fiction I’ve ever posted online lol.

I decided to stop here because the name coding, and the separation of full name/surname/first name as different variables rly took up a significant amount of time. But I wanted to do it so that there’ll be less awkward name-calling in the future during emotional moments etc. hint hint wink wink Also the next immediate choice will have branches within the branches which I haven’t had the chance to try yet, so I’ll leave it for next update and try to rescue my word count instead…
Although now 40k words by today is a distant dream… 
But if all goes according to plan, there will be another mini update within this week so that mini+mini=proper sized update haha.

Choosing to have romantic feelings for Chen Kun doesn’t increase his relationship stat. I think the variable Chen_Kun_RO needs to be separated into Chen_Kun (to get the +40%) and another romance tracking variable.
Edit: Unless the Chen_Kun_RO is a stat you’re planning to use, and simply hasn’t been implemented yet?
Yay, an update! I am looking forward to the coming of age ceremony! More Chen Kun is always nice 
Also, I noticed that the cat have two different names in two different scenes of chapter 1:
Yue, whom derived her name from the crescent-shaped patch of white fur against the black canvass of the rest of her body above her eyes, meows at you triumphantly. Then promptly stalks off in search of her own prey.
“I’m fine, Chen Kun.” You finally sigh. “It was only Moon.”
I do know Yue is chinese for Moon though
Also:
An look of suspicion flashes in your Guard’s eyes. You fervently hope he isn’t secretly classifying your cat as a possible danger to you.
Just a small typo, but this should be “A look of suspicion”

Writting style is good and fits the fantasy setting.
The read was of course too short to tell the story is good or not, but it is build properly and is enjoyable. With good story and same writting style it can be great.

Ahh, thanks for the catch! the RO stat is supposed to be hidden LmAo but yes that choice should add to normal relationship too.
There’s a difference bc I plan to write at least 2 different approaches to romance every major RO/confession scenes etc so ye

Oh nice! I hope there is both a subtle and bold approach in romance.
Also I would like to ask if there are any stat check or preference for the ROs? Do we have to act a certain way to get the RO to notice our MC?
