Can’t take a picture of my screen to show, but I came back to the forum, only to see that there were 1400+ posts that were yet to be read in my case today. 
If she has any ounce of respect toward her friendship with Arlan, she better not even think about doing something to his second love. 
Wow, so a Second Prince who cares about Sophia (either as a friend or lover) sure is going to get his work cut out for him protecting her with Clithus (and Kris, if they’re the Prince’s spymaster) from what these future threats may be.
Is it strange that I’m looking forward to the day that the Second prince can share a hug with Sophia (either as a close friend or as a mark of the start of their relationship as lovers)?
Or, you know, just cuddling with Sophia on her bed the first time she let’s the Second Prince stay in the room and sleep in the same bad (just to sleep, nothing more).
I see the first rule Arlan is going to try to break (if only he could)! 
He’s a smart little puppy, but he’ll pretend that he has no idea with ‘associate’ means and say he went into town to ‘mingle’ with the people in town. He’ll also pretend that he doesn’t know the requirements of what makes someone a ‘commoner’.
Wonder if that would a be a perfect time to meet Kris as a child and get to befriend/play with them for a while.
Stand with pride and fight to the bitter end with a strong, unshakable will.
Andus can break the Second Prince’s bones, beat him close to, and makes him bleed on the ground. But a strong willpower and resilience to keep going is not as easy to break.
And in those actions, we can win against even the mightiest of monsters. To see that no matter how hard Andus tries to humiliate him during the sparring and beat him down, his youngest son makes no sound of pain and the defiance in his eyes still strongly screams ‘you will not break me’, would probably infuriate him more than simply having the young son win. And as the King becomes more and more agitated as he watches his son keep standing no matter how hard he beats him down, there is a small opening that lets the Second Prince (with enough smarts or skills in magic/blades) land a single slash on the older man before finally succumbing to exhaustion.
And when the Prince wakes up, to see Sophia over him her hand glowing with magic and Clithus standing close by, her gaze toward the Prince showing a mix of newfound respect and a bit of worry. Sophia deadpans how much of an idiot he was for continuing a pointless battle, but something in her eyes is different than before. Pity? Respect? Sympathy? The Second Prince isn’t sure. All he can think is how warm and comforting Sophia’s magic feels before passing out once more.
Meanwhile, as Andus returns to his room, he doesn’t even attempt to stop the scowl that spreads to his face as he catches sight of a scar he takes no pride in having on his body. He won the battle in the end, but not only was he left with a scar, his child’s will was as strong as ever. And Andus can already hear the whispers of some of his men, who saw not a foolish boy pitifully struggling in battle, but of a resilient prince who deserved respect equal to that of Marxus, a seasoned warrior. Resentment flares in the King’s eyes; he WILL break the boy and any disillusions he has about ever being a rival candidate of the throne. By any means necessary.
It may be a hopeless battle, but it doesn’t hurt to possibly give the chances for the Prince to have small victories during certain moments (especially in moments that involve Andus trying to humiliate his youngest son), @Sophia.
