I’ve been hearing a lot about jams since I started participating in the writer support threads, and I decided to look for currently-active ones—found the Neo-Twiny Jam, and though I hesitated at first, I ended up being able to draft a couple things with an idea for a third submission. So far I’m still within the word count limit and it seems like I’m safe but those things have a way of sneakin’ up. I wasn’t sure about my ability to write IF that short, but it’s a good change of pace from longer projects. I look forward to the dopamine from completing them.
Feel like sharing this excerpt from my unexpected jump-ahead, because I like the PC's parents and also I like the impromptu development of dwarven culture that happened
The excitement has captured your parents, too. Many mornings, you find them practicing dwarven dances in the kitchen. Mostly it’s something traditional, partner dances with light steps and hops on the tile floor, coming together with arms clasped firmly and breaking apart like rock under a decisive pickaxe. Occasionally you see them doing something a little more modern, your mama laughing and clapping as your papa does a kick and a step and a spin, looking a little awkward and uncertain, but with a big smile on his face.
