Jinlai | Domineering CEO Simulator (Chapter 2, 107.7k words)

What game was that?

The game is definitely inspired by american psycho, given that the MC’s mother wants their son to be perfect and their son can choose to strive for this perfection just like Patrick Bateman!

Although I think it’ll be very unlikely to turn into a serial killer like Bateman.

Ehh, that’s just your regular Chinese mom for you. No inspiration from any western works needed. /s

I don’t know if this will get flagged. But this is what I thought insert-rich-family-name would look like when I began reading it. I love this.

Like I said, you yourself can strive for perfection just like Patrick Bateman.

That was exactly what I said when I first commented about jinlai here

Wonderful update, loved meeting good old Dad. I especially appreciate the option to be nice with him. Hopefully we can help him get it together a little or at least help him be happy. Despite being the failure he kind of gives off the impression that he is the only member of the family who wouldn’t stab us in the back if we got in the way of something.

He won’t stab you because your beneficial to him mooching off your money but seriously he needs help to get that nasty habit out of him. But still he’s a nice guy but broken and suffering. I wish we could help him.

Dad’s backstory kind of made me wonder if MC’s sister doesn’t turn out to be half-sister. The way his mental breakdown happens around the time of her birth is just one of those coincidences that seem tad bit suspicious.

Using the save slots in the game do not work. After saving progress to go back to later, the game refreshes itself and the save slots will appear with no saves leading to restarting the book over and over from the start.

EDIT: When completing chapter one, I download the save for the game. After downloading the save, I get an error saying Couldn’t load scene ‘protective_save’ The file doesn’t exist.

I don’t like how now you have to select a personality beforehand that locks you out of options on the very first choice. Imo you should ask the player “do you want to start with a defined personality?” first, then have a fourth “blank slate” option to work alongside the dynamic path for those who say no.

The game allows you to enable what it calls “dynamic personality”, which changes based on what type of choices you make the most. It’s effectively the same as the “blank slate” except you start with a small amount (10 points) in one of the branches.

“But it locks me out of the very first choice.” Since it is the very first choice, if you find your selected personality locks you out of the option you want, it’s easy enough to restart and select personality which does match what you want to pick..?

(unless what you actually want is to always be able to select from all options, but that’s another thing altogether. Then it’s not really “blank slate” but “i want to have it all”)

I deliberated for quite a while before adding a ‘defined’ personality instead of just having personality stats, but in the end I believe this works better. This allows me to add actual reactivity based on MC’s personality (flavor text, npc comments, some choices/paths), instead of the personality being just a bunch of numbers that in the stat page that don’t mean a thing.

I got that impression too. Did The All Good Princess cheated? To A Ji? I will find it out

Edit:
You know that actually could be the reason why sis is her favorite and also why she has different character than all family.

I mean her kind and introvert and silent character.
I don’t understand your words after the section I quoted.

You will already. She declined.

Could you explain what you mean by different character then all family I mean it sounds confusing no matter what way I put it. sorry I just saw your response and to explain your sentence you wrote before was confusing like saying by different character then all family sounded confusing for me i apologize for any confusion caused by me and I thought it said that before unless it didn’t then I truly apologize  . But for your first sentence you wrote this is my response if you meant something like her the mc mom cheating on him the mc dad then I think I remember a scene will the father yells at his wife when the baby is born or when he finds out she’s pregnant then I’m pretty certain she did cheat on him that is. it does make one wonder though who our young sister father is it’s a mystery for everyone.

Speaking of the sister, I want so much to tell her she can move in to my place.

I actually remember doing that in the demo at her when the mc has to pick her up at the school the mc jokingly says she can move in if she’s to dumb for mom or something like that.

What does the Intelligence trait do compared to charming in managing your company?

For now it gives half mil at start. But I imagine charm help convince deals but intelligence help to not got in a deal that only is a front to bad intentions. Specifically I think without intelligence Aunty wil wipe the floor with us. But at same time without charm you wont be able to negotiate good deals.

Well in that case, will you be able to have your RO/wife help too? So that her trait can contribute to scenarios where you MC is weak in?
