Me too!
I’m here mentally preparing for the performance part like I’m not going to copy and paste the lyrics from one of the many songs I’ve picked for my mcs
Picking lyrics is the easy part. The thing I’m dreading is the “stage a scene”–I looked up how reality shows are done, since I never watched any, and people who were on them were talking about how fake they were, and how they had to pretend to be upset about stuff and crap like that.
One woman was forced to start a fight with her dad when he came to visit, because that’s what the producers made her do (her dad understood it, thankfully). And on American Idol, they have to sign a contract where they agree that the showrunners can decide who wins, no matter what the audience votes. I’m wondering if this may end up being something like that. I also saw a guy who said that, after being on a show, he had PTSD, lol. One of the only ones I found where the ex-contestants said it was actually “real” was the Bobby Flay challenge. Others (including other cooking competitions) were ridiculously fake (like the cake challenge, where they were given much longer times to complete it).
Another interesting one is a show where they said they were woken up after a couple of hours of sleep because the producers knew that sleep deprivation would make them more irritable and start fighting with each other. Reading all this shit… now I am glad I never watched reality TV!
I’m just hoping the “come to terms with the fact that maybe fame isn’t all sunshine and rainbows” applies to the other contestants (cough Seven, Avina, and Blake cough), instead of just the MC (while everyone else gets sunshine and rainbows).
Yeah i dread that part too. Who knows what they will be forced to do? And what if that involves the ro?
There’s no telling what the producers will force. And I’m sure it’ll involve the RO once they get wind of a romance. Until that time, they’ll probably use Seven to hurt the MC.
In researching these things, I also found a bunch of people saying they got cut/didn’t get in for not being dramatic enough, because the producers want sob stories. My MC has been professional thus far, and I’m wondering if that will hurt her and make her lose because of the producers’ desire for drama. I’m actually thinking the MCs who lose their shit constantly and are over-the-top in their reactions will be the ones allowed to win, and those with some self-control (or denial, fear of opening up, etc.) will automatically lose.
Most likely even the most professional MC will be forced to act up. Or put in situation that make things worst. Bring things up. Parents being uncaring. The whole band break up with angsty number. Poke at their insecurities.
Yeah, I can actually see my “professional” (repressed) MC losing her shit at some point. It will probably be ugly. Though, with her, it’ll just be crying and breaking. She’s just not a fighter. Only time she has fought in my replays is refusing to ride on the bus with Seven, and she was scared Rowan would permanently hate her.
I wouldn’t say easy in my case, you’ve no idea how long it took me to pick the first song for each MC last time
It’s probably something with Seven to force that proximity even more.
100%, I can see the producers pulling one like they did with Seven during the bus scene, either you do it or you can leave type of situation.
We have the option to win though, and there’s no way I’m losing this contest. I don’t know what I’ll have to do but I’ll do it.
It’d be nice to share the shock with someone else for once. Though I think Blake is pretty immune the the showbiz messiness. I can see Seven having a hard time during the scene etc, though.
Who do you think is the familiar face? At first, I thought Lucy but I think it’s too soon for her, maybe the photographer since they’ve barely been introduced.
Seven gonna go through hell since they cannot act. Imagine trying be calm while being next to mc. Good luck.
Elliot most likely. With Dakota is optional to meet them at the party.
But with Rowan it was easily fixed. To make MC snap it will take either constant pressure or something really bad.
I only have one MC who hooked up with Dakota and you know what, it was fun. I wouldn’t mind an encore, my MC is too stressed, at least Dakota can provide some relief. Do I care about the consequences? Not at all.
First run with my main MC, I chose the lyrics offered. Then I let “her” write her own. It’s fucking depressing, lol.
Yeah, that’s why I’m trying not to set too much of my MCs’ personalities in stone, because if my repressed MC needs to act up, she’ll act up. I won’t change the foundation of her personality (people-pleaser, depressed, martyr-ish), but if she needs to get more vocal about her feelings to win, I’ll find a way to make her do it.
Dakota or E, that’s who I’m thinking.
Yeah, exactly. Seven can be used to destroy her, quite easily. Though, if it ends up looking like she’s going for G/V or Orion, I’m flipping Seven to female so she won’t care as much. In which case, her falling for a married couple or her manager who is clearly not interested in her would help break her, too. And her insecurities about being there, really, because she feels like she can’t even begin to compete with Seven (whether Seven is male or female doesn’t affect that).
My second MC went for it with Dakota and had zero regrets. She needed the stress relief. My main MC? No way. She wouldn’t do a random hookup. And if I can figure out what RO is for her, that’s the only one she’ll flirt with… period.
They were at the party but they’re not in any of the band, they’re obviously well connected, what if Dakota is related to G?
I don’t know if related to G. But they do have connections, since that was a party for the bands only. Probably acces to some higher up?
And if you do hook up with d and chose the pool scene, you can brag to those two band members I cannot remember the names of. And in turn they talk about it at the band repetition in front of orion.
For most of my mcs, I’m also more of a one RO per pt kind of player, but I also love a chaotic route where I flirt with everyone I’m interested in…and wait for karma to bite my MC’s ass (cough when life gives you lemons cough)
Heh. My main MC in WLGYL is Shane, all the way. No one else exists for her, lol. I ended up making a second MC who is a flirt (she doesn’t really mean anything by it), who will probably end up with Wyatt (but banged the hell out of Fiffer).
I thought about doing that for this game, but it’s already too depressing for the MC without piling more on her (whereas WLGYL is more light-hearted and fun), so I will probably just make a character for each route I’m interested in (Griffin, G/V, Seven, Orion, and Sebastian). I want to do one for Blake, but I know it’ll suck and be miserable for the MC since Amy is controlling how that “romance” ends, so I’ll be avoiding that!
I normally have one mc for more than one ro and play their routes separately. There have been rare cases where a certain mc works so well with a ro that I can’t see them with anyone else.
I’ve three for infamous, an ex that is not over it for Seven and August, a male ex that is over it and is into Blake and the poly/G, and an ex bff for Orion and G (that might or might not develop feelings for Seven as well).
You still should do it and go with it. Blake is a lot of fun and I want to see how flirting with them messes their plans (if we can that is).
I only have one MC to date that goes on more than one route, and that’s my MC who is romancing Reese in Fernweh. She’s also on the JR poly, because she’s so perfect for Reese that I can’t make a separate character for the poly. She’d probably hunt the other one down in my head and do away with her, lol.
Other than that, I always have one MC per romance. And end up developing them from the ground up. I have a generic one I play through demos with–and she did not work for this game at all. She is too well-balanced to fit the Infamous MC, lol. I ended up developing a second test MC named Rhage specifically for this game before starting to develop Riley. I’ve decided Rhage will work for games where the MC is seriously depressed, angry, or a generic loser.
You think that romance will actually be fun? I just have this image in my head of Blake punching the MC at some point. Or continuing to be ridiculously verbally abusive. MC already feels like a kicked puppy, so more abuse will just be cringe.
Then again, Blake was decent on the bus to the MC after that phone call. Surprisingly. But since the MC can’t affect Blake at all (that was my take from Amy’s comment that the MC has no control over how things end and it’s all what she decides for the story), I figure he’ll just be randomly nice and randomly abusive, whatever works for the scenes Amy wants to make.
