This is SO weird, but thank you y’all for the specification. @WallyWorld I’m still commuting from the hospital, I’ll be home in about four hours—I can send you the scenes if you want to try it yourself in the meantime, but as I said, the code is VERY long and honestly, a mess. I’ve already planned a complete overhaul, but for now, it is what it is…
Of course! Hope things went well at the hospital for you.
I’m not worried about long or messy - please send those 2 files when you’re able and I’ll do some troubleshooting. It’s definitely a strange situation, but hopefully I can fix it for you!
They could’ve been better, but eeh, I’ll take what I can!
Sent. Thanks again, you’re very kind. ![]()
I tested that in CSIDE a while back – one, two years? probably still with a version of CSIDE that was using a super old version of CS, though I didn’t realize it at the time – and a nested fake_choice did indeed cause the crashes described in the Wiki.
I just tried it today, with updated CSIDE, and there were no problems with either playtesting or QuickTest.
I’ve accordingly cut that section out of the Wiki.
most of things are outdated, I fear.
I’ve only started using CS recently, so I only knew what I learned from the tutorials. Still, it doesn’t hurt anything to use choice when fake_choice will do.
Indeed, choicescript wiki is really helpful.
