Yep. I been patiently waiting.
The first book I was only going to ever do one run in. Then I started W-4 Demo, response of, yes Marshall will get a girl too. Especially after Whiskey’s girls. Im definitely patiently waiting.
I trust it will be worth the wait. Ulyssa, and Castle were awesome there.
I also agree not expected due to circumstances. It would be nice on what you said. Just a snippet waiting to happen. Quite the appetizer if Bacon did. But again, circumstances stands to expect waiting.

Hypothetically, how are you guys planning to deal with the steppe archers?
As far as I know the two most popular options is to get a shit ton of archers, or to get a shit ton of heavy cavalry

The following is a public demo update!
The loyalist route of Chapter 3 has been released to the public! You can still play the usurper and regent routes on the public demo, but they will end at the end of Chapter 2. Before I continue working on the other two routes, I’m going to do some major spring (Summer?) cleaning, so stay tuned for some polls and specific feedback requests.
In this chapter, experience:
- A battle with Rade Mozoroff
- The slow assemblage of the lords
- Romantic reunions, developments, and angst
- In traditional ITFO style: horrific violence
I hope it’s worth the wait! I’m personally quite happy with how it all turned out, I think the endless rewriting and tinkering has led to a final product much improved compared to the first two chapters. Any and all feedback would be appreciated as well!

One thing I was thinking about is how during the march you ask Elya if she has trench foot, I’m not sure if that terminology would exist in that time period, but then again I’m not sure if anyone even gave it a name either.

Looking under the hood, I see a new stat for straight Marshals in relationships. Surprised Gay M!Marshal hasn’t an opportunity to raise it in Chapter 2 or now. I hope he gets it (and Lesbian F!Marshal too). I am glad yandere Marshal is a possibility (although I personally hope for a marriage/private commitment), although that obsession could form even if the Marshal and their lover are legally bound or may as well be so. And I think Schnitzel would enjoy the new stat too, she just has it for Rade lol.
Also when Kateryna of Tczew is mentioned, F!Marshal romancing Milon is always somewhat jealous. I would like it if there was a choice to be jealous or not and possibly raise that stat.
Also yay, nicknames at high Intimidation! Maybe some more with certain deeds or high Dread? The Terror of the Atiming, perhaps?
If M!Marshal is romancing Lada, he should always dream of her in the end of the chapter. Since gay M!Marshals and straight F!Marshals in relationships do not have a choice about whose skull they hold in their hands. And speaking of the dream, all the variations stuck with me. Well done.

Darin keeps raising death flags. Why does he keep raising death flags??? Vedran is becoming more desperate trying to prove himself. I don’t know if that bodes well for him or not. I feel like he’s definitely overcorrecting. It’s actually so nice that the MC can support him a bit. (low-key still hate him though). Elya of course is still the best sibling (not that there’s much competition). I love how cheeky she is despite everything. Some of her decisions may be questionable but I’m 100% loyal so let’s pretend they don’t exist. The flashbacks to when they were younger are so sad and bittersweet. Even in the present too there’s scenes which show how young unsuited they are for this environment. I especially liked the scene comforting Milon. Also the scenes with Obren, they’re even cuter than the previous chapter but also much more angstier. Marshal can’t even catch a break after finally getting to make out with him. I love the little flavor texts of the marshal’s thoughts wherever Obren’s around. Also Elya just not noticing the tension between the Marshal and Obren. lmao. Actually I wonder if she’ll even be accepting of it, at least Darin seems happy with it. I wish the marshal would be more open to him in the future and ask him relationship advice or something. Also mention of the wlw RO?

Described in 1812, not coined until 1915. But ITFO isnt really this worlds history books either. Terms can be used if desired and trenches were a thing.Up to author. He has been quite good at fitting reality into fantasy however. I agree with your opinion. I wouldnt use it unless trenches were more widely used on battlefields. Technically, that hurts cavalry. Hmmm. I wanna plow holes everywhere now. Horse archer cavalry will be less effective… right?

Foot rot could be a time-period-neutral word for the same condition.
As for the skull puppet dream on the other routes, Regent should dream of Elya, asking them why they let her die, as well as the existing dream their RO (if applicable). I personally think it’s fitting for the Regent to be particularly haunted.
Usurper, on the other could dream of the skulls of dead soldiers accusing them of prolonging the war for their own greed, the charge led by the skeleton of their RO/Darin. They can break under the guilt, or fight back. Unlike the other two routes, Usurper should get a choice in how they deal with the dreams (speaking of Usurper, some people have mentioned their Usurper acting for what they see as Elya’s own good, or believing themselves better for the realm than Elya even though they have nothing against her. The presence or absence of those feelings should be tracked imo). .
