Well I’ve got more of an issue if he’s the only gay ro and you can only romance a gay or bi guy on the third playthrough as that would mean having no romance at all in my first two runs and I don’t replay most games that often.
Other then that I think I agree with @ParrotWatcher and I don’t see a problem in making the canon gay or lesbian character a genderflipping character, as long as you think you can pull it off.

well, maybe my english is more bad than i thought as not only @ParrotWatcher, but also you had misundenstood it XD.
No, you can romance bi character in the first and second run (each path had 1 same sex RO and opposite RO), though the canon Gay RO will be available after you get to know them better in the third run 
okay, thanks for your input… then i have no worries if it’s alright for them to be genderflipping based on PC gender…

Well as I’ve stated before I don’t see genderflipping to be bad, I’ll never see how that character is as a male, she’ll always be female so unless something makes me go “what the f-?” I may never even know it was possible for her to be male. Like Black Magic in Heroes, honestly I didn’t realize she could be male until I read someone’s post here.
