So… is falling to Chaos an option or is it going to be a game over?

Before any of you even think of calling in a commissar, just listen to Sindri’s voice followed up by the voice of (Dark Crusade) Eliphas! Goddamn, how can you fight that? Their voices are like wine… evil wine.

unfortunatly they didnt realize that thier fanbase was as wide as it is…or they chose to only cater to the one that they considered the largest and label it as a predominately “boys” game. sadness
but at least this game is different, the actual cannon is shifting away from worshiping a skeleton in a chair, the necrons are slightly less of the bad guys, mankinds leadership was working with the eldar to fix the golden throne to heal him better instead of mostly stabilize him, new primarchs are being made(?), a entire new stronger breed of space marine is being made, they are talking about adding women to the universe in a few more handfuls of strong roles, and sadly Cadia(?) is dead.

praise holy ordos may this game hold back the eye of terror

I think you mean…
The planet broke before the guard did.

yea that was what i was referring to. They fought till the planet couldn’t take it raging against dying light. when the planet died they were still on it towing the line.
the battle that meant the split the imperium of mans space.

And the canon is looking to give women some stronger roles? Given that no one has forgotten the “Khornate Knights,” I think the lasses of 40k earned it.

honestly i think a female Primarch would have been cool and would mean female Chapters could be founded since they are based around their primarch i believe.
it was supposed to be theoretically possible to do since the primarchs were built from the ground up. while the sm’s were based off the primarch effectively. i think even Malcador commented it was in theory possible of the emperor to do and should have been done.

Psst @Alice-chan can you add in a Female Primarch?
Damn “Lady Jinx of the Hand” (my imagined Primarch and her Troops)
fighting kicking butt towing the line in the front alongside commissar cain’s company would be bad-ass and id be proud to purchase a entire group of space marines following that kind of character even if the miniature game is hella expensive and i dont even play i just think their cool looking to have. Imps and Necrons are my fave mostly though…filthy orks and horny dark eldar BEGONE!..well maybe Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Solkan the avenger can stay.
Props if you know who Solkan the avenger is without looking it up.

there were in universe comments and the emperor didnt dismiss it roght away when malicor suggested it to him

and thats why they need a Female Primarch. Female Space marines were tried but they never tried Female Primarchs to my knowledge as they were Built from the ground up and theire legion was based off them.
the emporer did eventually dismiss malcador suggestion but not right away and it was contradictory to what the Emporer prior said.
it was theoretically possible not impossible but the emperor dismissed the idea choosing to make them in his image ignoring much of his friends advice.

so in summary it was theoretically possible to make a female primarch and impossible to make a female space marine successfully without a female primarch, as primarch were the real deal and space marines were toned down versions of the primarch.
and yes the reason why a female space marine wasnt possible without first making a female primarch

I’m fairly certain that there were in-universe attempts in the 40k lore to have female space marines, but… let’s just say the result wasn’t pretty. I can accept there being no Fe-Space Marines, especially with there being the Sister of Battle. I’m definitely never forgetting the Grey Knights slaughtering them to mark their armor with their blood though (thank the Emperor that that scene is no longer canon).

Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t Primarchs basically like the head Space Marines? Like, they’re the source of an entire legion’s geneseed (barring the mutations affected by individual chapters).

If you want to be really nitpicky about representation as we are doing currently then I’d take the stance that Spacemarines aren’t even male, they are non-binary…

But shouldn’t this be it’s own topic, we are drifting away from talking about the WiP to a global 40k discussion

right… at what point did you first try to use a Psyker ability if at all?

I would be interested in hearing about any of the following: bugs, continuity issues, difficulty/balancing issues (too easy, too hard), incongruities, things that just don’t make sense.

I realized after hosting that perhaps too much of the mechanics are hidden which might make it frustrating. - This is a first draft and I’m trying out all sorts of things (the game is now 1/3rd code :S) I’m refining my mechanics as I write chapter 2 before I go back and change anything

Ah finally, I can purge heretics as the God-Emperor intended.

List of reasons I wouldn’t want to be a psker
1: I don’t want to get shot for heresy
2: I don’t want to be fed to the emperor
3: I don’t want to blow up because I channeled the warp to hard
4: I don’t want to be taken over by a demon
5: I don’t want to summon a demon
6: I don’t want to summon a bloodthirster
7: I don’t want to summon a even scarier thing then a bloodthrister
8: I don’t want to littraly be turned inside out because I summoned the warp wrong
9: I don’t want to be ostracized from everyone because psykers are dangerous

Etc, etc

195: I don’t want a slanniesh demon to butt fuck me to death because I acedently did something to draw it’s attention

Reasons to be psyker
1: get to scream “witness you’re doom!” when ever I do stuff

All in all a tough choice.

ima say thats a 80-90% lean in favor of being one…despite in the first 5 minutes of fighting in a dark heresy game i killed everything on the battlefield including me by rolling 00 and then 00 on the bad outcome table.

my first playthough in holy ordos i was on the already tainted noble line i didnt see any bugs in the 2 times i went through it but i could have just overlooked some being tired.

Thanks.

The major bugs/ommissions are that the trait system doesn’t really function properly - so the origin choices are 50% cosmetic at the moment (they still affect stats); I haven’t got the talent system fully integrated either, hence why it doesn’t appear on the stats-screen.

As far as progress goes I’ve done the level 2 level up stuff, and am plugging away at chapter 2; then I will go back and fix the various talents &c and make sure there’s nothing you can spend XP on thats completely useless (I might strip some stuff out) (some stuff might only be useful way later)

Then there are a few things I need to add:
Increasing the flavor text - like responses to space-travel if your void-born &c
Some form of perils of the warp without it being totally game breaking
Effects of insanity and corruption

omg that is a lot to do

Its at 66,000 words at the moment

I loved it. I’ve never really heard ofof warhammer 40k but this has inspired me to do more research on it. Keep up the good work

You know, Warhammer is actually pretty niche, all things considered. I mean, it has risen in terms of visibility in recent years, but it’s still not that strange to find people unaware of it, even in relatively geek communities.

Leave Me Alone. I haven’t played many things that were made in the 1980’s

I will be honest. Until recently I used to think W40k was a spawn of 4-chan.org

But now I know that that would be the warp.
