Weekly Update - March 16, 2025
Hello, revengers! Back with another weekly update. Sorry for everyone that’s not on the Discord server, last week I was on holiday and I forgot to prepare an update beforehand!
The main thing I’ve written these last two weeks were the preparation part of the plans, as in talking to the big bad leader of the rival school to convince him to help you bully cecily/michael, choosing which freshman you want to bribe to help you with some of the other plans (spoiler, not all of them will have the same result), and you can generally fail in your execution of some of the plans.
For most of the plans failing is not an incredibly bad thing, and the big plan, at least for now, will be safe to execute without any problems.
Anyway, I really believe that this upcoming week I’ll be done with the plans and actually start writing what happens during the homecoming day! Yay!

after reading this, I kept thinking it would be good to see mc giving Olivia some hints about who they really are after the party on Michaels. maybe she offered to buy mc something and mc choose orange juice just like on chapter one (only if they choose orange juice)

Weekly Update - March 31, 2025
Hello, hello! Back with another update!
As almost every month with this chapter, each part I have to write is a lot longer than I originally expected when I conceived it. I am still working on the preparation part of the plans, considering there are 12 plans… I am getting close to the end though. I’ve created a drug dealer kingpin of the rival school that you will need to convince to help you with the Cecily/Michael “ew” plan and/or the Vivian pyramid fall plan. Finished writing most of that stuff, took longer than expected because I wanted one of your allies to do the talking if you want to remain anonymous, and at this point there are 4 allies that could fill this role. And some of them can do better than the others, so that’s another millions branching ways the encounter can go.
Also started work writing the prosthetic dog head plan preparation. The only choice to make here will be where you want to place the head.
I’ve also mentioned yesterday on Tumblr that I’ve added a funds stat to the game! You now know exactly how many funds your MC has to waste on their evil plans! And you have unlimited funds if you’re mamma’s boy/girl/kid. This makes getting a car a much harder choice since it will cost something like a third of your funds if you’re a Youtuber. You can still ask momma for help to buy it though, so the mom interactive mechanics will be much more vital even for independent characters.
Anyway, as most of you know, writing an interactive fiction game like this one takes a lot of goddamn time and I hope you all have patience with me, because only this chapter is almost as long as some of the Hosted Games published (over 120k words by the way).
This is also my way of explaining why I’ve been missing an update here and there. It annoys me as well how little progress there is sometimes. Especially to explain in a relatively interesting update.

Weekly Update - April 07, 2025
Another week, another update!
I’ve finished writing the prep for the dog head plan. I’ve also added a new line for Cecily/Michael in the past. As you leave the Tragedy, the one that isn’t your date will help you up and whisper into your ear that if you tell anyone anything their dog will eat you alive. So now you will present their dog’s head on a platter! Almost literally!
Also wrote the dead lamb plan prep, where Marcus or Wren (for a steep price) can help you.
I wanna change a bit of the timing for things, I’m thinking of adding the choice for homecoming plans to happen at the end of Week 2 and then you can choose which ones you want to work on as the last two weeks pass, so it can be more part of the gameplay mechanics rather than a bloated thing at the end of Week 4. Cause right now you have to select your homecoming date and then your homecoming plans, then do the prep for them, and just then finally start homecoming.
So to make everything a bit more seamless, I plan on moving the plan selection back 2 weeks and the prep to happen as the weeks pass.

Just wondering, but would it be possible for the public demo to be put also on cogdemos? The current host is a bit of a disaster – you have to pick between either a fairly small window with tons of surrounding ads, or “fullscreen” which doesn’t handle scaling well, to the point where it can put a footer that blocks access to “Next” button and part of longer pages, preventing you from progressing with the story:

The public demo does; it will only be updated after the next chapter is completed. IIRC the patreon members get access to more advanced version with regular updates.

Nope, it shouldn’t end there. Weird. I just tested it myself and it passed to the next chapter without a problem.

Did you test the public demo, or the patreon one? The public one seems all sorts of broken (and no way to debug with no source code view) E.g. i’ve just checked it, and it ended for me on this passage, not even before the end of Ch.1:

Yeah it caught me off guard when it did so I loaded it to my latest save file, and it fixed it just for it to do it again a couple pages later, could be a typo
Yeah, I think I’m going to move everything to cogdemos. I just don’t have the time to make my thing work properly. Sorry for your save files guys, I’ll write a more proper update on it on Easter, as any normal person would

Weekly Update - April 27, 2025
So, it’s done. I’ve moved the demo to Cogdemos, which looks a hell of a lot better than a few months ago. I put the link at the top as well for easy access.
Since I don’t have the old txt files from back then anymore, I’ve had to make a little decision regarding the public demo. You now only get the first 3 chapters, but! There’s a but. You will now see all of the stuff I added to the first 3 chapters. So the extra bullying, improved and more traumatic Tragedy, convo with dad 1, Wren your personal house maid/butler, etc. You also get to see the code again, so anyone that wants to see spoilers for chapter 4 can easily see everything at the start of the startup txt file.
Chapter 4 will come back once I finish it, cause it’s a gigantic monster than needs fine tuning. I’m getting closer to starting the homecoming bit (I’m so tired of writing the word “homecoming,” I think I’m starting to hate it.)
Anyway, have fun checking out the changes to the first 3 chapters and see you next week!

I can’t wait to unleash MC’s Krav Maga on targets and dish out X-Rays in Mortal Kombat 9 style. (I know there’ll be no killing. But beating is certainly the least they deserve.)

The extra bits added to early chapters are nice and help to flesh things out, with bullies getting more of the spotlight. There’s only one minor suggestion i’d make – consider hiding the View target portfolios. button on the Stats page until Ch.2, because currently they can be bit of a spoiler if the player browses them while they play Ch.1.
Looking forward to Ch.4 getting completed~

100% agree with this, I’ll make sure to add the portfolios in chapter 2 after that bit where you check in on what all of the characters have done in the last few years.

Weekly Update - May 12, 2025
The prep for homecoming is done. Well, 99% done, there’s still some fine tuning needed to be done, but the gist of it is done. The allies get a lot of screen time this time around, with a lot of opportunities for them to shine.
Now comes the interesting parts. We’ll see the results of the revenge plans and see how the big day goes. We’ll win (or lose) a baseball game, maybe perform on the stage between innings, and, who knows, become homecoming royalty?
Chapter 4’s end is in sight people, let’s get there and continue on discovering these peoples’ secrets and destroy them forever!
