Hello, revengers!

Chapter 4 is officially 100k words long! Which is so long, I have no idea how long this game will be, but it’s really getting up there with the word count…

I’m also done with Cecily’s public homecoming proposal, which was much longer than the others. Obviously, because a public rejection from her has to be brutal and more… wordy.

Connor’s is up next, and it should be done this week. I’m going to try to push harder cause I actually wanna write homecoming, not just the buildup to it. I might even just skip to homecoming and come back to this since I’m getting tired of the “will you be my homecoming date?” question.

To be fair Mr.Gibbs got fired some 1-2 years afterwards, so i like to think that the event involving MC had at least something to do with it, even if it took a while for him to get his comeuppance. And well, now the MC can make sure to dish out some justice personally, too :v

Weekly Update - November 24, 2024

Hello, revengers!

Slow week this week, I’ve started writing Dylan’s private hoco-proposal. I’ve also changed how some of the stuff is written in older chapters.

I think I’ve hit a bit of a burnout point, but I’ll jump right out of it, don’t worry. I was kinda overwhelmed when I realized how many proposals I have to write, but I’m going to get over it quickly.

Anyway, sorry for the boring update, I have a lot of free time next week, so hopefully will have a big update then.

Weekly Update - December 1, 2024

Hello, revengers! Another week, another update.

This week I’ve finally managed to get my shit together. And I finally know why I had problems writing this part. I felt things were moving a bit too fast, but I’ve made sure to allow the player to decide, while asking their favorite RO out, if they want to tell their RO that they might be starting to get feelings for their choice of date. Of course, you’re just saying this, it doesn’t mean you actually have to feel anything.

This way the hoco-proposal can also be a friendly thing or a potential romance-building thing. Either way, making things a bit more clear allowed me to get my flow back.

I’ve finished Dylan’s private proposal, and started on Olivia’s. After Cecily’s, I’ll go back to the public one for Connor.

I’ve also made various changes to the previous chapters, but those are some of the stuff I’ll mention on Patreon cause you guys won’t actually be able to see them for a while.

I’m also thinking of completely killing the “clothes” choice, since I’m not really that passionate when it comes to the subject, which kinda means I won’t know how to write something that’s actually interesting. I might just create the occasional clothes choice for big events, but that’s that.

AAHHHH i love this smm!! i just finished the demo and def can’t wait for the next update (but totally no pressure or anything)

it’s my first time reading a story here with this kind of plot, so i’m super excited to see how things will turn out for mc! plus, i’m a sucker for revenge stories sooo

personally, i love how the characters’ personalities and dynamics are so different from one another and the fact that choices really matter here. each choice gives you a chance to discover a bit more about the bullies, one where you couldn’t possibly know if you chose a different dialogue. a few examples i could think of are the maze one and that scene where someone asked cecily to be their homecoming date

overall, i enjoyed reading it sm, esp with the occasional funny lines!

Weekly Update - December 8, 2024

Hello, revengers! Big update this week!

I’ve written a lot of stuff and got really far with the whole “proposals” part. I’ve only got half the ROs to go (Isaac, Haley, Vivian, and the sidekicks). I’ve also decided to remove the extra option I initially built up (Lydia), since I’m kinda done with adding extra stuff just for the sake of extra stuff. Let’s finish this chapter, alright? I’ll give it a second look when I’m closer to finishing the game.

I’ve also reread CH1 after a long time and I’ve done some fixing and improving, also adding a little scene where Connor manipulates MC a bit.

Also, considering how many words there are in this chapter (over 100k, likely ending somewhere around 150k) and that I will likely get similar word counts for the next chapters, I’m considering making the story a two-parter. This will also give the story a chance to gain a bit more traction in between games and also make me realize if all of the work is worth it. How I’m envisioning things, part 1 would end on Valentine’s Day. It would be a really good point to end the first part and build up the end of the story, especially considering the game will be close to 1 million words then.

Now, this is not 100% something I’ll do, but I’m heavily considering it. We’ll see when I get closer to that point, around chapter 8-9.

I’ve also finally found someone to do the art for the characters. I’ll post something next week or in two weeks to show you all what I’ve been working on behind the scenes.

Weekly Update - December 15, 2024

Hello, revengers!

Slower week this time around. I was full with work, so I didn’t really have that much time to get far with the game.

I’ve mostly only got close to ending Isaac’s public hoco-proposal. Other than that, I haven’t really touched the story much. I tried going with an extravagant prank for a proposal for him, and I feel iffy with what I wrote.

Either way, thanks for reading the update, as always, and I’ll try to push harder next week so I can have something to show off for Christmas!

Weekly Update - December 22, 2024

Hello, revengers! Late update, sorry!

Finished Isaac’s hoco-proposals. They’re pretty fun. I’ve also created a new, secret stat for him that decides if he thinks you’re boring or not. Right now the only things it kinda does is that it makes Isaac comment on his “expectations” of you. I.E. he’ll be surprised if you do a public hoco-proposal if you’ve been boring until then.

There aren’t many proposals left, which means we’re getting closer and closer to the end of the chapter. Good to know that 2025 is when we’ll finally start the new chapter and release the new demo for chapter 4 to public! Hooray!

Last Update of 2024

Hello, everyone! The year where I’ve come back is coming to an end and High School Revenge, unfortunately, is nowhere near the end haha.

I’m going to start this update by thanking everyone for the continued support, it’s amazing to see so many people from back in 2018 still coming back here to check on the story and to see so many new readers invested in my characters. Hopefully in 2025 I’ll push a bit harder than I did this last month and we’ll maybe finish more than one chapter haha. I would also like for our MC to get revenge at least on one of the characters, a semi-big one at least, in the near future…

In theory things should get simpler for future chapters, since I’ll still use many of the events from this chapter and many things that I wrote now will come up later, so that’s gonna be really nice. I’ve also noticed I haven’t played the game myself in a long time, so first thing I’ll do after finishing this chapter is actually reading my own story haha.

To celebrate a bit, here’s a list of all the stuff I’ve written and done this year since coming back, just so I can feel better about it all and not feel like the lazy writer that I know I am:

• Chapter 1
  – Rewritten a bunch of stuff (18 year old me didn’t do English that well…)
  – Made Olivia try to stop you from jumping right into the Tragedy
  – MC’s head now bleeds after being hit with a metallic crown (yikes)
  – Connor now manipulates MC into feeling accepted by the group

• Chapter 2
  – Choice to change pronouns and/or transition to a different gender (making dad 1 hate you, yikes…)
  – Created hobby skill stats (I forgot these didn’t exist)
  – Become financially independent (kinda…)
  – Recruit both Angela and Marcus (you could only recruit one. Yikes…)
  – Extra week for preparation
  – Colored contacts for eyes
  – Sexuality and romantic experience choice
  – Nice little comments if you choose the same family name as one of your other fathers
  – Choose if you’re a smoker (most important choice here)

• Chapter 3
  – Chapter 3! This was not a thing before my unfortunate disappearance! Funny thing, the conversation with Michael was already written before my death, but I got very annoyed with the choices I wrote. I allowed you to punch Michael in the face, which resulted in a really weird start for the game. When I saw how weird everything went, I gave up. When I came back, I killed the idea completely. Maybe we can punch him at the start in a DLC…
  – Rewrites over rewrites.
  – The first hobby events!
  – The first meetings with all of the ROs!

• Chapter 4
  – Too much to write down… Short of it would be:
  – Relationship events with all ROs
  – Second hobby event, first chance to ruin your targets’ private life!
  – Random events!
  – Burt can stalk people now! (yikes…)
  – You go to a party and stuff happens!
  – You can learn one of Connor’s and Michael’s secrets!
  – You can campaign to become homecoming royalty!
  – You can ask most of the ROs to homecoming! (I’ll finish this, I promise )
  – Marcus is much more useful as an ally than Angela! (she’ll get her chance to shine, don’t worry Angela-mancers)

Anyway, more words might have been written, but I forgot. I came back at the end of March, so it’s been 9 months. Pretty crazy stuff. Thanks again for all the support, let’s make 2025 the year we finally get revenge and live out our sick fantasies (and likely feel bad about it afterwards…).

Late Weekly Update - January 06, 2025

Hello, everyone! Late update, sorry. Holiday season and all.

Not much to report, to tell the truth. I’ve fixed some things for Isaac’s proposal and started worked on the private one for Vivian. After that we only got Haley, Marcus, and Angela left. Damn, this is going to be a long ass game.

Random thing though, I just watched the new Count of Monte Cristo movie. I must say, much better than the 2002 one (that’s the only other one that I watched). I got some fresh motivation now to start writing again, and I want the MC to have more chances to impress the targets, as the count does. So prepare for a really cool homecoming.

Weekly Update - January 12, 2025

Hello, revengers! Big-ish update this week!

I finished all homecoming proposals!

Kinda. I just gotta fix some things, cause 3 ROs can ask you out before you ask them, and I didn’t really write what happens if you accept or reject them. And also mess around with some of the choices, cause the ones for Cecily are a bit too cringy. But that will be quick to fix, max a day or two.

But yeah! You can ask all ROs out to homecoming and get very interesting, unique answers from each one of them! Goddamn, why did I go with 10 ROs…

Now, it’s finally time to get started on writing the end of the chapter. First thing first, I want our MC to have the chance to plan something big for homecoming, to make this a real home coming for them.

So, yeah, Vivian, Haley, Angela, and Marcus hoco-proposals have been written and finished this week. There are also new, secret stats for Angela and Marcus, which relate to their main “plot.” Angela’s will be tied in with her confidence and self-worth, and Marcus’ will be regarding his hatred for Isaac. Oo, I can’t wait to put these stats into action haha.

Also decided to go through some of the older stuff and add some things. Isaac drops a banner at the party when humiliating Olivia, I won’t give too many details ;). And also some other stuff I won’t mention here, cause this is getting kinda long.

Anyway, 2025 is off to a great start, and I’m happy to finally get closer to the end of chapter 4!

I liked the new movie, it was an interesting take to the story, which, in some ways, I kinda preferred. I’ll always recommend watching any of the movies, really, since the whole premise is so fun. I gotta watch the tv series that appeared at the same time with the movie, cause I also prefer these over movies and I can’t wait to watch around 8 hours of the Count in action haha

Weekly Update - January 20, 2025

Hello, revengers! Interesting week this time around, with the whole death of Dashingdon and everything.

Let’s start with that, since that’s a bit worrying for some. So, I’ve mentioned this on Tumblr, but I’ll also say this from scratch here, I own a website where I write video game guides. I thought that, since I’m already paying for servers, I could make something similar to dashingdon, but with a lot of features I already know how to implement due to my expertise in my respective field.

That’s why I’ve already done some of the groundwork and uploaded my wip there.

It’s very early days and this is more of a trial stage. Nobody else can upload right now and I’m extremely open to advise on how to make everything easier to use.

Some features I’ve already added are:

• A save plugin with infinite, named saves. I’ve found a way to implement it without making the writers add extra script to their txt files.
• Writers will have the ability to put up a list of the latest update to the demo right above the game, so you can quickly see any new changes to the demos
• Comment section!
• You can rate the games from 1 to 5 stars, and I’ll make these ratings visible on archive page where all the ifs will be listed (I already gave myself a 5 star review guys, please don’t ruin my rating )

I still haven’t figured out how to allow people to upload txt files and convert them into an optimized html file to make the thing work for everyone, but this is all still experimental. I’m also working on making password protected posts, for Patreon demos, but I think I know how to do that already and it should be pretty easy.

Now, back to what you all actually care about, the game!

So, four ROs used to be able to invite you to homecoming before you could take the lead. I’ve changed that and only 3 can do it now. I’ve also improved the way they ask you out, I’ve made repercussions for rejecting them, and special reactions if you reject or postpone and then ask them out afterward.

I’ve also started work on what comes after the proposal. I want the MC to plan a mini-reveal, if they want to. They can either torment one RO with a little thing that only they would know, kinda making it clear to the RO that they have an enemy in the shadows, or they can make a big-ish reveal where they make it clear that someone is coming after the ROs. Maybe put up CREEP on the homecoming crown or something like that. It’s still in the works.
