1- I read through the choice of games beginners guide again and found out that Al generated images won’t be accepted when you puplish the game but it can be viewed in your WIP which lead me to three questions:
1-Is the stock art sites are treated like the al images
2-can I make some edits on an Al image and then it will be accepted when I puplish the game
3-I tried to add an image but it doesn’t appear when I tried to test the game and I am sure that I am good with the (*image command) I think it’s a proplem with the photo maybe can anyone help
Secondly I have a proplem with my labels when I
Use the (*goto _label command) and test the game it reads through all the labels below
Make a topic in in the ChoiceScript Help category, post the code that isn’t working, and it will be easier for people to help you
Don’t use AI art in any way for your HG art assets. Stock image sites should be usable in some cases but check the site’s licences. Some are not licenced to be used for commercial use, etc.
Finish a game first. Then worry about artwork. It’ll be a long way off.
You can’t trust the description. I found multiple images today alone that were listed as NOT AI that look like they actually were on multiple stock sites. We’re going to have to double check everything now.
Honestly artwork is the least of the worries. I’m being completely serious as someone with a few games on HG. Don’t stress on it. Worst case pay someone on fivver or similar to make one for you, but AI is 100% out.
I would suggest not to use any image if you’re in doubt, but honestly it’s not feasible to expect people to be able to distinguish if the image was generated or not if there’s no indication. Most image generators can do a good job nowadays.
You are permitted to make changes to art assets during the review/publishing process, within reason, but check with HG about this first.
That said, I suspect that the quality of your art is a factor in determining if you get a steam release, so it might be worth your while anyway to have everything ready at the time of submission if possible.
I highly recommend reviewing the basics here and doing a forum search. For example this link tells you what folder you should be using How to make quick and easy chapter headers
I hate to be a broken record, but have you used the search button and checked the requirements for submission?
There are lots of threads on potential stock sites, the image format, what people like to see in coverart, how to edit images, what programs are available etc etc etc.
I also recommend you look up the definition of different types of creative commons (CC) and check what yours are under and if it meets the requirements.
