Hi there, it technically has a save option already! There are save checkpoints at the beginning of each chapter, and I’ve included the option to reload a save at the end of every chapter too. I wonder if updating the files on the demo clears your saved data? Apologies if that isn’t very helpful, I’m still getting to grips with the coding/tech side of things!

Hihi!! Have just finished reading all the comments in this thread, and it’s nice to know that I wasn’t the only one who perked up at both Melinoe & Zagreus being mentioned in this WIP 
I’ve had to restart my playthrough a few times now—specifically, I would try to look at stats, then the message comes up reading,

After clicking “okay” I am then unable to interact with anything else on the page? I’ve had to reload my browser to start reading the story a new each time
(I don’t know if the variable has read ‘choseflower’ each time, but I’ve definitely had that specific message come up for me multiple times.)
I understand that the game is still being written - is this a known glitch? Or is it just because the work hasn’t been finished yet?

Thanks for flagging this! I think what happened is I updated the stats file but not the startup file or the chapters it was affecting 
It should be fixed now and you should be able to complete a playthrough, but do let me know if you run into any more issues!

Another quick update! New headers have dropped and I’m utterly obsessed 
They’re in the demo and looking beaut! I’m hoping these will help fix the totally valid confusion around some of the stats. Either way, feel free to let me know.
I’ve also fixed all the latest bugs flagged in the comments (I think).

Chapter 7 has been added to the demo! Morpheus fans, or those who simply wish to humble him a little, this one is for you. It contains explicit descriptions of sex (on a throne), but they’re entirely skippable if you’re just here to fight, or spare, giants and solve mysteries!
Don’t worry, you can still humble Morpheus in other ways 
Some of you might be aware that the game is currently open for beta! I’ve updated the status section to reflect this, as well as to reflect where I’m currenlty at (on a tea break from epilogue drafting).
On a slightly different note, I’ve gone ahead and got myself a tumblr account! I’m only about a decade and a half late to the party and I don’t know what I’m doing over there, but feel free to come watch me figure it out! Maybe even ask a question or two

Hello hello. I have been waiting for Morpheus update to drop. But but….. why in the new chapter I can’t even kiss him???!! Is there some sort of condition I need to be in?

Hi! Hmm that’s odd as you should be able to do a lot more than kiss him! I think the only way you can be locked out is by selecting either ‘Put this feud behind us. He’s a nuisance, but he would make a fine ally, if not a friend’ OR ‘Get this over and done with. He’s a nuisance, nothing more, nothing less’ in the ointment scene.
I can confirm the same thing happened to me. I only pursued Morpheus during the update, chose the first choice to close the distance during the ointment scene and nothing happened 
I will get that smooch some daaaaay! (I love the story btw Ares is just too cute 
)

Ah, so frustrating! I’m not sure what was going on there but I’ve found a workaround If you choose either of the first two options in the ointment scene you should be able to unlock the romance scene now. Thanks to both you and @Yozora_Yuki for flagging and for your patience

So this is an interesting concept and I’m enjoying it but there are some things that I noticed while playing. I played through this normally a few times without looking at the stats. Then out of curiosity I did a run through where I paid extra attention to them. Especially since the change. You give us a lot of options of how we can shape the story in the summary below but I’m not seeing enough options in the demo to really feel like a lot of that is possible. I know it’s in beta so there could be a lot more you have added. Not to mention that the whole thing with Hermes felt a bit sudden and I’m not sure I understand at all why he would do what Morpheus says he is doing. If my character had seen hints of a change other than he was overworked then maybe. As for Aphrodite helping or hindering, we only speak to her once and we never hear anything about her again. What I intimidate her once and she stops? I feel if she is going to have that kind of influence then we need just as much interaction with her as the love Interests. Speaking of which, I feel like there aren’t a lot of interactions with zagreus and our parents to really need two separate stats. It would be different if say we had hangout events with them in the time we aren’t doing our job which might help improve other stats. Like training with Zagreus or heck even Ares could give us a little boost in both fitness and their respected relationship. Maybe we could shadow Hades for a day and see what it takes to run the underworld, we get a little boost for our relationship with our parents, I get to learn more about being a leader, I get choices that are either diplomatic and charming or intimidating, and maybe it even boosts the underworld stat. The pacing of the demo feels a bit fast but overall I could see it really being something great. I don’t know what other kinds of feedback you’ll get from the beta testers but I hope this will help cause I really do want to see this become something great.

Hi! Thanks for providing such thorough feedback – much appreciated I’m currently focusing on rebalancing the stats, which should make hints about Hermes more accessible. There are also more scenes with him, Aphrodite, Hades and Persephone (as well as a couple of Zagreus moments), in Chapters 8-10 and, depending on what you choose, the epilogue. I’m not sure I’ll have time to upload those before release, but hopefully knowing they’re there offers some reassurance at least!

Oh I am really enjoying this so far!! I’m a sucker for belligerent sexual tension so Morpheus is right up my alley. I’ve spotted a typo in the demo in C4 - Morpheus calls you a “sore looser” instead of “sore loser”.
