Hearts in Hades: Divine Passion [OUT NOW]

Just how powerful is MC exactly? Like are they “ You should definitely fear them” type of powerful or just “ She’s powerful just because she’s daughter of Hades and Persepolis l” type of powerful? Also if we don’t get along with Aphrodite when we first meet them, does that set up a rivalry immediately that could turn into Romance or a rivalry only?

Love your game and hope you’re doing well this October.

Oh, interesting question! I guess how powerful she is depends on how you want to play it and what you think counts as ‘powerful’? She’s immortal and stronger than a mortal, but not as widely worshipped as her more established peers, so weaker than they are. You’re right to think her lineage would likely give others pause before messing with her (except for Morpheus and Aphrodite, perhaps), but I’ve included choices that can either enhance that or mitigate it. The more worship you garner, the more ‘powerful’ you become, and worship is awarded depending on the choices you make. You can be cunning about it, or you can prioritise mortals’ needs over the gods’, or you can perform cool feats, etc.

There’s also a route where you could reject power as defined by the gods, and even walk away from it, which I think can be interpreted as quite powerful too.

Aphrodite isn’t romanceable, but she can also become much more than a rival! Even if you get off on the wrong foot, there’s opportunity to remedy that, and discover more about her background and motivations. She’s actually one of my fave characters to write and one I would love to revisit :slightly_smiling_face:

Hopefully that all makes sense! Thanks again for playing and for all the lovely feedback

It has been a while since I last played this so I came back to it, and wow it has become even better than I remember! It is really interesting how ‘behind the scenes’ this feels, in a good way. I do hope when this comes out you can also have a little guide for stats, because it is so hard to track where and when some of the stats changed or affected stuff (like the Daemon Handling,Yourself and Worship ones - I do not really get what they mean or how they change). Thanks for the feast!

So glad you enjoyed revisiting the game – thanks for taking the time to offer feedback! Working on something to help define stats better so should hopefully be clearer when the game is published :slightly_smiling_face:

I wanted to ask, if we are rivals with Aphrodite, would she try to ruin the relationship between MC and Ares like would she try flirt with him, cause I could kinda see her seduce Ares and sleep with him because of ya know… her being the Goddess of Love and Lust just to spite and get one over MC. Also do Ares and Aphrodite have children like in greek mythology?

Hi! Hmm not sure how much to share for it to feel satisfying but basically (hiding as it could be considered a spoiler):

Summary

Aphrodite is more worried about her worship numbers and how she might be perceived than her relationship, or lack thereof, with Ares. This is hinted at in Chapter 5 and becomes clearer in
Chapter 9.

Hopefully that reassures you a little bit! As for children – they don’t have any! I love writing complex interpersonal dynamics and flawed, slightly evil, female characters, but I think throwing children into the mix here might overcomplicate things so have decided not to :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey! I read your demo (4 times back to back but who’s counting). Do you have a patreon? You mention a chap 9, but I only see 6 available.

Also, is there a way to be intimate with Morpheus like the other two in chapter 5 or are you always interrupted? A kiss maybe? I don’t know how to romance him.

Great game so far! Good writing, too!

So pleased you’ve been enjoying the game (and the writing), hopefully you’ve found something new and fun in each playthrough!

I don’t have a patreon but it’s definitely something I’m considering, I just haven’t figured out how I want to go about it/what it might offer just yet.

And you’re right re how many chapters are available. I’m awaiting edits for Chapters 7 and 8. Once I receive and implement them, I’ll upload them to the demo as well. Currently working on drafting Chapter 9 while I wait. I’ve added a status section to the main post which I’ll update as I go!

And finally, re romancing Morpheus, Chapter 7 is the big one for him and the one where things can get more physical. Up until that point, you’re always interrupted, so don’t worry, you aren’t missing out/failing tests! I wanted to give that relationship the chance to simmer a little and not go from rivals to lovers too quickly.

Hopefully that all makes sense! Thanks for playing :slightly_smiling_face:

Absolutely! That totally makes sense to me. Each romance is pretty wonderful. I’m just a sucker for enemies to lovers when done well.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR

Kicking 2026 off strong with some big news for Hearts in Hades: Divine Passion. Yes, that’s right, we’ve got an official title! Plus, the game can now be wishlisted on Steam. I’ve added the link to the main post, but dropping it HERE too for ease.

As for progress, I’ve updated the status section to reflect I’m on the final stretch of drafting! Awaiting some edits, but hoping to get Chapter 7 up on the demo very soon.

As always, thanks again for all the helpful feedback and general encouragement – it really does mean a lot

No idea how this game slipped under my radar for so long because I really enjoyed this. I read this pretty much in one sitting so do need to go back and re-play other routes but I have some quick feedback (only done an Ares route so far).

  • Weirdly specific but I really loved how you write Iris and was happy to see them in the story. I enjoyed their opinions and reactions to everything and was very happy whenever they appeared (admittedly bias as they’re a favourite for me from Greek mythos).

  • Enjoyed the choices for the Epiali and loved the little flavour texts for them (nightmare shadow cats ). Also the little references of the chosen flower throughout the story were a nice touch.

  • Ares is a sweetheart. Enjoyed the reunited childhood friends turn lovers aspect of his route a lot.

  • I found the writing style in general to be really approachable. Environmental descriptions were detailed where they needed to be and greatly appreciated. Characters each felt like they had a distinct voice.

  • I am unsure what the Befriend / Beguile / Confront stats do or affect. It’s just a suggestion but a short stat descriptor page or line of text on the stat screen I think could help with this. I did not know what the “yourself” stat affected until I read it earlier in this thread, for example.

One Query:

  • Is it possible to raise the stat for Iris from 30%? I was on a mission to have them be my BFF but couldn’t raise the number.

Overall lovely work! I will be watching this one for future updates for sure. Seems like it has a lot of potential.

I’m very glad you found it! Thanks so much for the lovely feedback; it’s nice to meet a fellow Iris stan :rainbow:

Re your queries:

  • The Befriend / Beguile / Confront stat is actually obsolete now and this made me realise I hadn’t updated the stats page on the demo :speak_no_evil_monkey: It’s an old Aphrodite stat which has since been revamped. Should be all fixed now, so thanks for flagging!

  • The only way to raise the Iris stat at the moment is in relation to the Messengers’ Council (the troublesome Yourself stat). Essentially, it’s meant to determine who will be in charge of the Council at the end, rather than your relationship with its members. I think I might have to rethink this one though as it has been flagged a few times and I’m not sure a stats description—which is a great shout—will do it on its own. One to come back to when I’m done with Chapter 10!

Hopefully that clears things up a little. In the meantime, hope you enjoy any future playthroughs

Does it have a save option in the game? So you could save scenes and not have to restart? Just curious. Thank you!
