Guenevere (WIP)

Oh and my Guen is she’s half renegade half paragon, she’s nice to Arthur and Is friends with Lance and is with Morgana but she’s willing to kill her enemies, she doesn’t believe in Arthur’s vision too much and is willing to side step him in order to get things really done. (Can’t wait til next part, deh army is mine<3) she’s also kinda ambitious.

@MutonElite Yes they did and it was okay, just not my favorite game of theirs when it came to romance…or games.

The jade emblem game starts shine when you play it full close fist. Really i have confess that i have predilection for evil in rp. Like probably all of you had figured out years ago :stuck_out_tongue: But really writers get wild with evil guions for that game, in fact story changes totally with it becoming a different game. Open fist is BORING and sky is probably worst romance ever in Bioware. The trio ending with both hardened princesses in my brand new empire was a great ending. Not the best bioware game but one of the funniest poison the chef with his ownfood was hilarious and become the girl a psycho that killed her own mother.

@poison_mara I would love to play it closed fist but for some reason It decided to stop working on my PC lol, probably something with windows 8. Wtv, I’m gearing up for Dragon Age 3 anyway, gonna be my usual realistic mix of good and evil. I always like to mix it.

I’m hooked on Notepad++ myself. I don’t use more than a tiny fraction of its functions, but it makes it a lot easier to get the indents right, and I find the interface virtually as clean as Notepad (as I just ignore the menu buttons I don’t use).

I mention this because it just occurred to me (as I’m coding my own game) that even if you like clear-and-simple Notepad for writing, it might be worth downloading Notepad++ for your spell-checks.

I find it easier to scan for spelling errors there than in Word – and it’s definitely easier to make your corrections in a program that directly edits the .txt file, without worrying about whether Word is “helpfully” including formatting that will turn into bizarre symbols onscreen.

@FoxalypticWorld i actully also like Arthurs naivety (it makes him easier to manipulate! ^^) haha half joke/ half thruth aside. The only time i couldent stand Arthur for some minuts was in part 1 when he just brushed away when my Guenevere told him about Lancelot liking her a little to much.

Overall i like Arthur and The adorable way he is and naive, but i cant stand him sometimes but still i like him after all he is my second favorit character after Mordred.

Well, it’s been a rough week for me, but things are better today.

I have a real soft spot in my heart for Jade Empire. I played it more times than Mass Effect. It’s partly that I like martial arts, and also that I very much prefer games with hand-to-hand combat over shooters, but Jade Empire was also just such a pretty game – at least, I thought so. Aesthetically I find it tons more appealing than Dragon Age (particularly Origins, where it seems like the art direction was all about making the clothes as ugly as possible for some reason).

I had heard that Thane’s design was in some way a response to Garrus’s popularity, because (I guess) part of the reason the devs had a hard time imagining Garrus as a romance was because he doesn’t have lips? (I don’t remember where I read that, maybe the BSN back when I used to follow it?) So when the answer to the “what do women want?” question appeared to be “oh! women want aliens!” (facepalm), they coined the term “male-ian” and designed one with lips. No idea how much of that is true, but I find it funny, and at least plausible, as a story.

@GloriaRose Arthur brushing it off if Guen tries to tell him that Lancelot’s acting inappropriately is, I think, Arthur at his absolute worst. It’s a mild version of the “oh, boys will be boys; it’s nothing” response that a lot of girls and women get when they speak up about behavior that’s making them uncomfortable. In Arthur’s case, it comes completely from naivete and absolute trust, but it’s still (to me, anyway), one of those moments where my characters’ flaws break my heart a little. If, at the end of part 2, Guen decides to tell Arthur about Lancelot kissing her, she may get a similar response at first, but if she’s persistent, she’ll be able to make him see that it’s a serious problem.

@Havenstone Okay, you’ve sold me. If nothing else, I assume I can open the files in ++ just to do spellchecking, and then continue to use the nonplussed version for writing if I want. (: I’ll give it a shot.

I liked reading about @GloriaRose and @FoxalypticWorld’s different Guens – thanks, guys! It always makes me happy to know that the game is letting people come up with such different personalities.

I like Arthur very much, and I like to play a Guen who likes him.

Merlin starts awake and mumbles, "Fate, my boy. Nothing I can do about it."

Merlin is adorable. :’)

Also, I found a typo.

Sir Ywain says, "Everything I've learned from the chronicles suggests that the queen is almost certainly right."

(should be “Yvain”)

@GloriaRose Thanks for the sympathy and the encouragement! I needed it. Definitely feeling better today, and hoping this week will be better.

@Pqfire09 Let us know how things go for crazy psychotic Guen! And let me know if you have any ideas for some crazier choice/dialogue options.

@Coold00d12 Glad you like it! I had hoped to get part 2 finished early in 2015, but right now it seems like the more I work on it, the more complicated it gets, so at this point I have no idea. I’m just going to keep plugging away at it. As for the entire game up through part 7, that’s going to take years.

@Samuel_H_Young There will be a lot more of Merlin in part 3. I just hope he’ll still be fun (and not annoying to most people, Mara being the exception) in larger doses. And thank you for the typo report! I doubt I ever would have caught that, since spellcheck wouldn’t get it, and Yvain/Ywain gets spelled both ways in Arthurian stuff. Much appreciated.

Excellent! I’m sure I’ll enjoy that. I laugh at almost everything he does. xD

“He hurries down the stairs so fast that I’m impressed he doesn’t fall.”

This whole story has such a delightful charisma to it. :’)

Oh @jeantown don’t worry i love hate Characters i have so much fun, have imaginary banters with them… Put them funny nicknames and whining about them. It is something typical in my family my dear grandma hadnt watched any soap opera without selected first a character to hate. Normally the evil one but sometimes the main boy or girl. Well all the episodes i remembered from my childhood was my grandma giving advice to her love ones and insulting badies.

Well, my Guen is not too fond of Merlin, but she doesn’t hate him or anything, so i think she will be able to stand him a bit more
She thinks of him as just some harmless drunk old fool with some powers, who is there mostly because he want to have nice cozy job.
Or maybe that he knows more than he tell and deliberately withold important information from me, which makes him my enemy in disguise :smiling_imp:

This quote reminds me of Arthur.

“We will never have a perfect world, but it’s not romantic or naïve to work toward a better one.” -Steven Pinker

@Samuel_H_Young Thanks! It’s wonderful to know that the little details are getting noticed.

@poison_mara I’m just happy to have created characters you find worthy of hating and wanting to poison. That means a lot. (:

@Ponku It’s interesting to hear a more neutral opinion on Merlin! I wonder what your Guen will think of him in part 3…

@Princess I like that a lot. I’ve been seeing Steven Pinker in various forms on Chipotle bags lately… makes me think I should read more Steven Pinker. I’ve read some of his stuff on linguistics, but not the Better Angels book. It’s great to see someone be so positive. (:
