Definitely something of the sort. Dame gets really annoyed with the MC if you suggest that maybe the past you hid themselves from everyone else on purpose, and actually properly snaps for the first time rather than just being a little snarky. Like it’s genuinely offensive to them in particular.
So I’m getting the feeling that either Ares went MIA after whatever usual issues cropped up between a God of War and Goddess of Love couldn’t be fixed, and rather than reincarnating again they were lost and Dame spiralled for a long time. Or maybe Ares didn’t want to be with everyone else anymore, but Dame didn’t want to/couldn’t leave (it would make sense why they’re so openly hostile towards Jackie) and now they’re pissed you not only failed to stay away—but on top of that—gave yourself amnesia.
Also, does anyone else think that Harper is some sort of new god? Or at least the minion of one that probably helped keep you hidden and suppressing the ascension? I just find it super suspicious a very popular and well-loved kid stuck around my seemingly violent MC without making some sort of distance by high school. Especially due to the nature of this story.

or perhaps after so long together we as Ares just up and dipped one day and Aphrodite didn’t handle being literally ghosted by the person who had been basically a soulmate across multiple lives only to find that now they were gone, a piece of them was just ripped away with 0 explanation or anything
what happens when War abandons The War? what happens when 1 half of a whole is torn away, how does the other half heal or fix whats damaged

My personal theory is that Ares found a way to circumvent the limitations of mortality and reclaim full Godhood. Or at least begin the process of it taking the first steps. Something that interests me is the Voice that comes out when we rage, or what I assume is our inner Ares. It’s almost like Ares MC and Ares the God are two different souls sharing the same body now, which would theoretically give them a way to take back their full power? It lowkey might be possible since GS Ares is being portrayed as highly competent rather than dumb muscle no one takes seriously. I wonder if Rome upgrading them to Mars had something to do with that. Just pure speculation, though. I’m sure interested in finding out 
But onto a more important note, I friggin’ love Dame! Their route is pure jilted lover angst and they don’t give a flying flipping fuck that you got amnesia it’s still your fault for leaving them. When they’re not insulting you, they’re stating a hole through your skull because they’re trying to reconcile the fact that you’re back yet at the same time aren’t who you used to be. Please pretty pretty please let their children show up to make this extra spicy

All the He’s are supposed to be she’s. I ended up losing my place after getting into chapter 1. Will have to continue again another time.

She then brings his knees up to squat almost, resting Her arms on them.
And he doesn’t advance on that. You’re actually a little angry now. What’s his game? He leaves his ride side open. No, he doesn’t, he’s letting you move past. He wants you in the center of the ring.
